There are a lot of books and stories out there saying the bible is writen from mythical stories. I just want your opinion is the bible fact or fiction or could it be both depending on the bible you are reading?

I think there is plenty of historal and archaeological data to back up most of the facts in the bible. I saw a program on the history channel, where archeologists were looking for facts to back up the historical documents, and were able to come across many of them.

There are both facts and fictions. I believe the story which is commonly called The Prodigal Son is a fiction or if you want to call it a myth. But I believe it is a fact that Solomon once built a Temple in Jerusalem, and that got destroyed later. So Bible has both myths and facts.

I think the contents of the bible are all facts. Though scientifically, the time of the events do not match, I still believe the accounts of the stories are all real. I have a theory that the knowledge of people about time during biblical times wasn't as keen as modern-day people think and also, most of the books in the bible were written prophets during their "enlightened state" where they hear the words of God. God's perception of time might be very different from ours. A thousand years to us may just be a year or day to Him. I just firmly believe that the bible is the essence of truth itself.

Probably there are proofs out there proving that the BIBLE is the Truth. I can’t prove the Bible is true or correct. But that is the power of my Faith, as I still believe in the word of God with all my heart and soul, and I have witnessed the power, peace, love, and community that comes with it. That is not to say that I don’t have free will, or that there are not disagreements within the faith over things like science and exact meanings of verse but all of us in Faith share the belief that Jesus was our savior, and was sent by his father to die for our sins.
My belief is strong enough, and the joy that it brings is so great, I feel like a winner every day. For me I believe that the BIBLE is FACT and It was written by Man through the Spirit of God. Have a Nice Day.

Well, the Bible is really a small library of 66 books, written by over 30 different authors many of whom lived in very different times and never knew each other. It took something like 3500 years for this collection of sacred writings to be written.
What makes it remarkable is that there are common threads and themes throughout that make the book a cohesive whole. This is quite extraordinary because I can't think of any other works of sacred literature that can make the same claim. Because of these characteristics, there are many in the world today, Catholics, Protestants, and Jews, who consider The Bible to be "divine revelation". In other words, it is God's self-disclosure of Himself to all who care to read it.
The test of whether The Bible is fact or fiction is the same test for all truth -- if it works it is probably true. What do I mean "if it works" ?? I mean if it DOES WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO. The Bible claims to put people into contact with God if they will read it and follow it's precepts.
Today there are many translations and versions of The Bible which are available to read. I recommend the New King James or the Revised Standard Version just because it takes out the "thees and thous" of the Old King James and replaces them with modern readable English. I also suggest you start reading in the Gospel of John, and maybe take a course in Bible Literature 101 to help you understand the unique
languages and formats there. (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic; Law, Wisdom, Poetry, Prophecy, and History -- all are found in the Bible)
