Christmas Dinner - CanadaGal as a kid, with her dad, having xmas dinner
I don't have any recent Christmas decoration pictures on my laptop, as I've only had it since April. Pictures of my lovely ornaments and decorations will have to wait a few more weeks. lol. However, I've attached an oldie pic of myself and my father, taken back in the 70's (I'm guessing xmas 77). You can see various cheesy xmas decorations on the railing into the living room, as well as the fancy dishes with our dinner. lol.

I don't think the decorations are "cheesy" at all, CanadaGal. I love to see people reminisce this way.

Sorry I have nothing to share right now. I am not sure if we will put up outside lights this year yet. If so it will be later on. There is a family across the street from us who puts up a lot of lights and decorations, he usually starts the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I don't know if I could wait that long even in a warmer climate like Texas. I'd have them up about the same time out of habit I think. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I put mine up early to avoid the cold etc. It's hard dealing with them when it's really cold outside. Plus the wires get hard and can break also from the cold when handled a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Now you can come over here and do my lights. It is not as cold here I promise. I don't normally put up very many lights. Around the big picture window is usually all.

I'm on my way. Leave the lights and cords out for me. Oh and some type of cookie/cake/donut etc. Coffee would be nice as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hmm....lets see.... I have chocolate chip cookies, homemade toffee, zucchini bread, and pumpkin muffins. Should I just leave you an assortment and a thermos of coffee out by the lights?

I guess we should have worked on that this weekend! Your lights look good. I hope I can get pics of ours taken to post as well! Keep up the good work Grandpa Bob!

We haven't put ours up yet. They ARE sitting out in the dining room waiting though. LOL. I figure I'll just wait until after Thanksgiving, THEN I'll finagle hubby into putting them up for me. When he does, I'll try to post a pic here.

I could not wait too long. If it is too cold outside they'de never get put up. So that's why I do them in October most times. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I really like it! I wouldn't mind seeing people turn their lights on before Thanksgiving, although practically speaking, I guess that would be expensive. I can't wait for the house across from my apartment complex to put their lights up. Last year is was like a Christmas extravaganza! I can't even begin to describe how they went all out. I guess the best way to put it, would be that it was enchanting.

Those look really nice. I don't put lights on my house, although I would like to. We put our tree and inside decorations up either the Friday or the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Then I take them down on New Years Day. I've only done outside lights one year and I really liked it but haven't done it since. My husband says no one would see them but us lol. (We live off of the beaten path you might say)lol.

Hey that looks pretty good. We don't have any lights up yet but it's soon coming. I am working on my tree right now. It usually takes me about a week to get it all spruced up. I wrap lights around each limb and...oh well noone needs that whole story! LOL I better get it up. Everyone is tired of walking all around it! LOL Have a great Day!

Wow your house looks so pretty, I always think it is great how these lights just change the whole character of a house and make it look so happy and welcoming. You have done a good job with it and it looks really smashing. I do not do outside decorations, I just put a few up in the living room and that is it.

You did a great job Grandpa bob, did you do that all by yourself? You really are in the Christmas spirit. I hope I get their soon (Christmas spirit), it is hard for me to do. I spend a lot of time alone, and my family let me spend a lot of time alone. I never tell them how I feel. It hurts sometime. I just keep it to myself. My family never have been that close. Most of the older ones has passed and the younger ones don't have time or care.
