Do you really keep track of how much you eat in a day? If you are keeping track, what do you track? the calories? the fats? I am trying to watch what I eat these days for health purposes. So any information would be helpful.

I did not use to think about it until I took a nutrition class last semester. Then I realized why I was fat. I was eating on average like 3300 calories a day. I have since cut back to 1000 and waiting for the weight loss to begin. I am counting I have 500 for lunch and snack and then 500 for supper and snack so that I can make it easily through the day. I you don't watch out 1000 calories can leave you eating not very much. If you want more food you have to make better choices. Which in return can be very healthy for you.

I do keep track of what I eat in the day but I do not actually eat a lot anyway, I tend to keep an eye on the fat contents more than anything. I never really bother with the calories as everything I eat has hardly anything in them anyway!

I don't count calories I just limit the amount of junk, processed foods, and sugars and eat lots of whole grains, nuts, seeds, veggies, fruits, and drink lots of water. I don't skip meals and eat several smaller meals throughout the day to keep up my metabolism.

I love eating too much to ruin it with all those facts and numbers! I watch how I eat and I'm mindful of my intake, but I don't limit myself to numbers. We need calories for energy, carbs for are brains to grow, and fat insulate our bodies and protect our organs and joints. It's good that your starting to eat healthy, but a good diet won't help you without exercise. Good luck!
