We were having a debate this morning over which one of these stores is cheaper. I am fixing to shop for my wineters supplies when I fill the freezer and thats how this got started. Everyone is giving me a different answer...What do you say? Where will I save the most money?

I don't have a Kroger here in Minnesota and I've never heard of HEB either. The last time I shopped a Kroger there wasn't even a Walmart yet.

Neithe of the above.
Costco or SamsClub is where the savings are
as far as stocking up for the winter months.

Ok, Grandpa, I have a Sams, so I need to go get another Sams card right away and go there. Thanks for the advice and I had forgotten about Sams.

For all my Kroger. I have compared Walmart, Publix and Kroger. IMO the winner is Krogers, with its specials, store coupons and all the other coupons they send me in the mail PLUS 10 cents of each gallon gas there is not doubt where I save the most.

Yes they do have these bins at my store and I like to poke around in them. I did not take advantage of the free turket as my days are long gone from cooking turkey dinners. I am lucky enough to always get invited to my friends for big dinners.

We do not have a Kroger's store here any longer, not for years now. We do have HEB and Walmart. We do most of our shopping at HEB since it is less than a mile away and so much more convenient. I think it is just like any other store, depends on their sales. We have had better luck with the meat bought from HEB and also bread. Sorry I can't be of any help but I think it depends on the stores in your area.

When it comes to buying food, Walmart is the last place I would ever buy food at. You don't buy food at a department store, and you don't buy gas at a grocery store. But, I will have to say I did ONE time buy my food at walmart and that was the last time to. The way they pack there meats. If you put them in your freezer when you get home and take something out a day or two after it has been frozen it is not fit to eat. It dosen't even look good. It turns brown after it thaws. It had a rotten smell and tast. My dog wouldn't even eat it. She dug a hole and covered it up. Do all my grocery shopping at a real grocery store. The even have a butcher shop in the back to get you meats fresh and cut the way you want. And it has always been cheeper for me. I don't have a Krogers, or Heb. Just a small town grocery store. If I need clothes I will go to wal mart then. But I would go to K-mart instead if there was one close. If you can't tell...I'm not a fan of walmart.LOL

We do not have a kmart and its been gone for a long time. I am not crazy about Walmarts either because they never have enough help and what they call help is no help at all. lol hehehheheh and now they have jacked the beef prices so very high that you do not want to see them. The cuts are so thin , that if you try to cook them, they will burn so fast and you have to pay a ridiculous price for them...ugh
If this is the direction Walmart continues to go in, then I am going back to Heb , or somewhere else...

I don't shop at Walmart and haven't in....maybe 7 years. But in most cases, driving the extra distance and using the gas to get to Walmart would not make enough difference in price to me. I buy what's on special at Kroger and it's very rare that Walmart has 10 for $10. (Or 11 for $10 that Biggs does...to compete with Kroger.)

Besides, Kroger has been great about issuing coupons for exactly what I buy. They know since I use the loyalty card. And last week, they sent me 25 coupons for getting things for free. No strings. I didn't have to buy any amount of anything.
I got free cereal, free coffee, free ice cream, free cheese. I can't remember all the coupons.
That trip, I only took advantage of the coupons for the free things, and got over $40 of groceries for free. It would take a lot for Walmart to beat that.

I know you may save on everything at Walmarts not on beef and for sure not here!I could buy a house, cheaper then filling the freezer there.lol
