Well let's see, what problems have I had with the Payment Processor Site AlertPay.
One problem was when I tried to do a BanK Transfer to my New Zealand Account. I had previously been able to put in money to thier Bank Account in New Zealand, which happened to be the same Bank I belong to. So thinking everything was fine I decided to try to Withdraw my money.
I got an error message which said something along the lines that my Bank Account does not support withdrawals which I thought was strange. So I sent in a Support Ticket, basically asking if they supported withdrawals to New Zealand Banks. After 2 correspondence neither answered the problem. The first ticket suggested I attempted to do a Bank Wire, which I replied I didn't. The second ticket then informed me that only Bank Wires were available which really didn't help.
Stupidly I tried again a month later, exchanging my US Dollars to New Zealand Dollars, and you guessed it, the problem was the same as before. SO all up I've lost $22 US because of the Exchange Rate.
I finally gave up and decided to withdraw using a cheque. It arrived 18 days after I requested it, and it was time for me to have fun with my Bank in New Zealand. At first the Bank Teller was skeptical that it was a real cheque, then she mentioned that it would probably take 60 days to clear. She got the Bank Manager out, and he asked who was AlertPay, which I explained were similar to Paypal.
He repeated what the Bank Teller told me, then decided to ring down to thier main office regarding the cheque. After faxing the details to the main office, they decided that the cheque was authentic. ** Whew ** and I was able to "cash in" the cheque.
Ironically, although I had lost around US$22, through the currency exchange at AlertPay, the New Zealand dollar went down against the US Dollar, so in terms of my currency I lost $8.
