You don't trust me!!! Why won't you let me shave your beard?!?!?!

I've asked Boyfriend many times in the past five years that we've been together if I can shave his face. Every answer I get is NO. It doesn't change. Now, I just ask the question for fun and throw in "You don't trust me enough" to see if his answer changes. Of course, he still answers NO and throws in "I just don't trust you with something sharp very close to my face." Ladies, have you ever shaved your man's facial beard? Or are you in the same boat as me? Gents, have you ever let your partner shave you? Or why won't you let them?

My SO has never asked Me to let Her do this, and I've never had a Barber Shave,or Let a SO shave Me anywhere (Yet!) I have to say, though,I've nothing against the general idea, under the right circumstances!

Very interesting question. A person that close to my face with something sharp I dont like the sounds of no matter who. Better just to do it myself. Maybe he really just doent want it shaved? :)

He shaves it himself. I could hear the whole thing from my room. And give it up on the avatar! But if you want to share the meaning behind yours, that is cool too but a soul, I will not tell.

LOL... Men are like that! And trust me I could never manage doing that....men can be arrogant and most indifferent on certain times.

I have let my wife shave my face from time to time SaintAnne but I do prefer to do it myself! I guess it is the thought of the blade moving all over our faces by the hand of another that gets us all nervous! I cut myself enough as it is without having to freak out about my wife cutting me instead! lol. Maybe it is a case of distrust to a point; but again, we are talking a razor blade here!

Your wife even offered to help me hold Boyfriend down if needed. I don't think any of you would get cut just as long as you sit and stay still and follow directions. We are talking a razor blade here!!! Now, fetch!

Hmmm well I doubt my partner would let me shave his beard as I would make a mess of it. It is not so much about trust but skill. I trust him with a blade and I am sure he would trust me but I have no idea how to shave his beard as he likes it just a certain way. I am not sure I would want anyone to shave me if I was in that position. It is such a delicate task and so easy to nick the skin.

Boyfriend said it's more of a personal thing. So I'm going to a do a lot or "personal" things that he won't get to join. Thanks, sharra.

Hi SaintAnne! I have shave husband facial beard couple of times and I think that I've done a pretty good job, lol. But I can see that he is not comfortable when I do it. Actually I can't remember the last time I did it and I'm sure that he prefers to do it for himself.

If Boyfriend ask me to marry him, then this is one of the things he has to allow me to do before I say yes.

Well, I have been together with my husband for about 10 years, and I don't think I'll let him cut my finger nails. I don't know if this has anything to do with "trust" or not, I just don't dare to let anyone else do that for me, even those experts. As for myself, I definitely won't shave for him, I also don't dare to do so. It sounds scary to me. :p

I'm not scared to do the shaving on him. I've actually done it before but not with him. I cut my own nails but sometimes a manicure and pedicure makes me feel pampered. Thanks, kaka.

My guy asks me to help him with his haircut sometimes and really, he is more trusting than I am, because when he offers to help me I am sort of squeamish about that. Actually he does a great job, probably a better job than I do for him, but I would never offer to help him shave his face! Why? Because I like him unshaven. In fact, he used to shave before we married, but I convinced him to stop doing that. Fortunately, he worked at the kind of job where facial hair was ok. I used to know a lady who let/make (depends on one's point of view) her husband shave her legs. Bleagh...like she never heard of electrolysis?

Is there something that you and your husband don't do yourselves? I think cutting each other's hair is actually a sexy activity but I don't think I would do that as I don't trust myself with scissors. But razors, yes!!! Boyfriend used to be clean shaven the first two years we were together and then he started growing a beard... and yes, I like it too.

Sorry, but I have never let my partner shave my face or beard, either because I have NEVER had a beard in my life, or I have NEVER had a partner of my own in my life lol. I don't think it's troubling to let a partner to shave my beard if I had either one -_-;; I really don't mind if my partner touches my hair or shave my beard or such, as long as it's not really intense. But if a guy gets their fingernail on me, I would @#$!&^#$%*$!#$!#@$ right on his FACE!!!! umm... yeah you get the idea. lol yeah that's me. Happy mylotting :)

I've had a friend who had a motorcycle accident (resulting in a dislocated shoulder) and happened to be all alone when he decided to shave his head. He called me and asked me to do it, and I did it quite well. Then, after a while, I wanted to try and shave my boyfriend's beard. At first, he wouldn't let me, but I called the friend with the accident and asked him to confirm I have a steady hand when it comes to shaving. And I was finally allowed to do it :P I must admit, he does it better than I did, because of the positions that you must sometimes put the facial skin into, to get it best. But it wasn't bad either. It just needed some corrections after I thought I was over. I didn't cut his face and that was that. I wouldn't do it again, though. I've tried it once and decided that the one who does it best must do it always. The reason he doesn't let you do it is, of course, he is afraid you'd cut him.

I believe so too, goodkat. Boyfriend doesn't even like to think of imaginary cuts... I like how you used your friend as your reference to get your Boyfriend to let you shave him. I probably would stop bugging him once I get to do it. I just want to do it at least once. Thanks, goodkat for sharing.

I am a guy and no, in my past relationships, the lady has shaved me. Sometimes when I go days without shaving, they would state their frustration and ask me to shave it but they have never actually asked me if they could. If they did, I would most likely laugh and not take it seriously. Yes, I think ladies can do a great job but shaving is something personal and I would want to do it on my own. It's not that I wouldn't trust them, it's just one of those things that won't happen.

Thanks, mayhem. I've heard your last sentence before from Boyfriend. Just replace "them" with "you". And I do understand the whole something personal bit. I don't even know if I would go ahead with it in case he finally says yes.

No, I have never shaved a man's beard, but I have let a man shave my nether regions, and I'll tell you one thing, it is just as scary as someone shaving your face!

This just sounds dangerous...The thing is, the other person doesn't really know whats going on. When you are shaving yourself you have complete control over how much pressure you use and the exact angle of the blade to your face. If someone else does it they could end up cutting you and not even realizing it before they cut a lot of the face. A question for you is, would you let your boyfriend shave your legs?

I actually know how to shave a man's face and I have never left a cut or even a nick. I just need more practice and I was hoping Boyfriend was going to be it for me. And as for your question, yes, I would be iffy about the whole thing but I will let Boyfriend shave my legs. He said no to that too.

Hahahaha!!! like this story, its cute1 Have you ever realize how women behave on certain things such as they want to control things not because they have a definite reason but because they just want to do things on their own way. Hahahaaha! And women use the "trust" thing in order to convince their boyfriend and still the boyfriend don't want to give in whahahahah!!! this is really cute!

I never have, and I've never wanted to. I have cut myself too many times shaving my legs; I wouldn't want to see what would happen with me, a sharp object and my boyfriend's face.

I've never had the desire to shave my husbands face, but I let him shave my legs once, and it resulted in small cut. For revenge he let me wax his leg.... I only did a small patch and when I tore it off he screamed "Kelly Clarkston" Whatever that means? Now he says women are completely insane to do that more than once. What a long story... take from it what you will.
