When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. It does not matter if you agree with war, or not, just remember they are fighting for what they feel is right. When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following: A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue,NW Washington,D.C. 20307-5001 If you approve, please pass it on to all whom you know.

Good idea! Thanks for posting this address. I keep hearing veterans are saying that they are helping the people and that we aren't getting the full reports. They do seem to feel they are fighting for right and for good for us and the Iraqi people. It's nice that you made that point, too.

I have friends and family whom have kids in Iraq and Afghanistan and the wonderful stories of the things that the soldiers do to help the local people. They are not just warriors but fathers, sons, uncles, brothers, friends, who care about people, do not just shoot people (many do not do that at all) and befriend and help the locals. When my husband was in Vietnam, he told me stories like when he and a buddy helped a woman give birth in an alley way. She was in labor and was just there. They helped her deliver and got her medical help. They are real people with real hearts.

It is a nice gesture to remember an injured soldier at Christmas time. You are a wonderful person to think of others during this special time. © ronaldinu 2008
