personally for me i really don't watch that much most of the time i just use it for background noise while on the computer. the only time that i even use the TV is after 10:00pm. i tend to watch it until like 3am. i have a lot of channels to watch but even then i some times have a had time finding something to watch.
one thing that i hate the most is when i find two shows or movies that i want to watch but they start at the same time and they don't get played again for awhile. i also hate commercials, i some times change the channel and when i come back the show has already started and I've missed parts of it.
well i know that a lot of people have TV. so how many hours a day do you spend in front of it? do you just watch shows or play games, watch movies. what is that you do? do you ever get bored of watching it, or can you always find something on it. what do you hate or not like about TV? try to answer as much as many of those questions as you can. thanks in advance. keep mylotting.

I don't own a television for over two years now, and I never regretted the decision to give it up. I find it actually freeing not to own one.
Having no TV gives me more time to read. I use my laptop to watch my movies and I get my tv shows on DVD, thus sparing me the commercials.
Overall, I think I gained more instead of losing in my decision to get rid of my television.

well that's cool. i use my laptop to watch movies when traveling. i would give up the TV ,but then i would be miss a lot of new show that i might like. i wish that i could just read instead of watching TV sometimes but its hard for me to get in to a book. i tend to get past the fist three chapters and after that i loose interest in the book. well thanks for your response.

ya i use my laptop to watch movies some times when I'm traveling. but i like my TV more because its a bigger screen. I've tried reading instead of watching TV, but i get up to the third chapter and put the book down just to never pick it up again. i loose interest when it comes to reading sometimes. i don't think that i could give up the TV because i don't want to miss new show that i might like and eventually buy the season on DVD. well thanks for your response. really good insight on your life.

I have a few shows that I watch , but I could really live without tv. I have it on most of the time for the noise. I love ghost hunters, biggest loser, heros, project runway, top chef, chuck , office, and my name is earl and that is it. If my son did not liek sports so much i would probably have no tv.

tv is really good for time pass and also to learn new things. i think most of us spend time more with tv may be some of us watch some serials , movies and music and we all have our own choice and the wives like me who stay at home most of the time watch tv and i feel tv is a good timepass and it just dont provide us entertainment but also provides us knowledge through many of the educational channels and from which we can learn more and more and also it is a media which provides information through news and this way i feel in each of the field tv is important
my watch cartoons and while that time i get some time when i can do my work.

I just bought last year a portable dvd with t.v. tuner for i really like watching movies and t.v most of my time. so when ever i go i bring it with me. We have many desk top computer at home so i opted to buy portable dvd than laptop for it is cheaper and more handly to bring. And at the same time i can watch my favorite t.v. show. T.v. is the best recreation for me after my work. I can even watch 24 in it. Happy posting.

I am sure that there are a lot of people out there who love television and watch it a lot of the time, and then I am sure that there are people out there who either do not watch television because they have other things to do,or because they can not stand television, and think it is an idiot box, that is cool that you use television as a background noise while using your computer, and it sucks that you sometimes have trouble finding something to watch, and I know that if you have satellite there are so many channels, and even if you have cable you have a lot of channels, and sometimes it is hard to find anything on,especially on the weekends, and I agree it is very annoying to find two things you want to watch that come on at the same time and then neither one will come on again for a long while, and I know what you mean it seems commercials are taking over the television, and I hate commercials because they are annoying, and sometimes you have to sit there and flip nearly ever channel just to find a channel that is not playing a commercial, and sometimes I would rather just mute the television then watch the commercials,or sometimes it is not even worth turning the television on due to the commercials that are taking over every station and ever channel, when I was a kid I used to love watching television and it was one of my favorite hobbies and whenever I was not sleeping,on the computer,or playing a video game I was always watching television, now that I am with my fiance we usually stay very busy trying to do things like make money online since we can not find jobs, and we are in the middle of planning our wedding which is set for September of next year, but we do try to watch television when we get the chance, mostly we watch it while we are eating which is usually like an hour, and we usually watch it at least an hour before we get out of bed,and and at least an hour before we go to bed,and we sometimes watch movies on television if a movie comes on that we want to see,and the only games we play involving television are console games that hook up to the television, and sometimes watching television does get boring especially since everything seems to be reruns but we usually do usually find something to watch even if it is a rerun we have not seen as much as other reruns.

Well, right now I'm at college, and believe it or not, I don't have access to a TV to just watch. I don't really have time to anyway though, too much homework. We had one back at home, but I find that while I'm at school and can't get to one, I don't waste as much of my time, and I don't miss it at all. I know what you mean though, I usually just used it as background noise while I was on the computer. Half the shows were reruns I could have re-enacted in my living room, quoting line for line. I wish they'd play older shows again, classics. Those would be a refreshing change...
