Photography lets me blend technical expertise with the aesthetic. Can I consider myself an artist? I don't know: what do you say... www.davidrichphotography.org ?

Hello David. I am an experienced pro myself and would like to talk to you about some challenges I have been facing. I like your work. Very nice. You are right, it is definitely equally art and technique, and that's what makes it so darn fascinating. I am going to ask you to be my friend so that we can talk shop, ok?

Photography is equally an art as well as a technology. To excel you must be both, do both, equally well.

I consider myself an artist. I like trying to find different angles and colorations for pictures. I like to print them to a bigger size so I can decorate my home with my own pictures from hiking trips and other vacations. I just love taking pictures.

I've never taken a photography class, but I'm still really good at photography. Although I have a lot to learn, and a lot to improve, I'm still really good. I think that's more of an artist, someone who has an eye for things that other people don't.
Now don't I sound a little conceded right now? lol

I see photography as an art more than technique. Technique is learn-able but art is sort of talent and experience. Its also not really depend on equipment. No matter how good the equipment you are using, you can't capture good photos if you don't really found a good angle or moments.
But, don't get me wrong, good equipment will help you to give better quality photos in terms of technicality, but in art, it is still in you, the photographers. You may visit my website to view photos I took: http://afirozia.110mb.com/
I would say myself as a technician but less art.
