If you had the choice, would you choose to have twins?

With people restricting to two children a family, if one could take it one step further - consider having twins to get two children in one go - consolidate childbirth, parenting, expenses, sleep deprivation and the zillion things that go into having a baby in one go. Would you make that choice or would you rather leave it to chance. PS : It is possible to opt for twins..

When I was pregnant I wanted to have twins. I thought it would be great to have twins. Well, now I have 4 children and do daycare. I happen to babysit two sets of twins. They are much harder than having one, that is for sure!!! I figure that God didn't give me twins becuase I would have gone nutso!!

No I would not! It is hard enough looking after one baby never mind having two both wanting feeding at the same time etc. Twins run in my family and my hubbys and if I had fallen with twins I would have managed but luckily it did not happen and so I was quite thankful!

I agree, but thinking of carrying twice over, pregnancy associated difficulties and immobility issues, the big old delivery issue and sleepness nights twice over, it somehow seems more feasible to have two in a go and handle all the other issues with a little help from here and there, rather than face the above issues again. I so want another baby but I so dread getting the whole cycle started! And I had to have a caesarean this time, what if next time I have to have a normal one..gosh.. the thought of it!

I like to have a home birth and if I was having twins I would get a hospital birth. I guess it would be great to have just one birth but get two children. I have heard that it is expensive because two of everything must be bought. The parents of twins can get really tired when the twins are babies and then young children. The children would always have a play mate of the same age. If one twin was clever and the other wasn't that would be more obvious than two siblings of different ages. I would opt to have identical twin girls with the perfect birth if that was possible. Ladies having IVF treatment can get twins or triplets because that happens in some cases. I know a lady that has identical twin boys and she is pregnant at the moment with a second set of identical twin boys.

when there is possibility to opt for children they I would prefer twins at one go and it would help me and my country too. I think many love children that too twins in one go...so this would demolish our hospitalization. The risk would reduce and health will be more given advantage....

Right now i have a 2 year old daughter. I have always wanted twins. I am kinda hoping that i have twins. But yes i am leaving it up to 50 percent chance of having twins. But i also do not think it is wrong to opt for twins.

Given a choice on having a twin sister or brother, I will definitely be having one. For me having a twin sibling is like having an instant best friend and regular companion.

yes, i felt that companionship is one of the major pluses of having/being a twin..unless the baby is one of those who loves individual attention, of course!!

Im not sure if i could choose for my next pregnancy id say yes to twins id like 4 children my partner only wants three to get my wish id need to have twins, but really no im happier to have to have my children as singeltons, im a twin and my mum will tell you while having both lots of sleep deprivation in one go is nice once we are growing up it was hell on earth at the time!!!!! so was caring for two so was finding money for two babies, hardest being not finding out until she was 7 months pregnant and then having us just 4 weeks later, if i could only have two children id not have twins id have two singeltons and make the most of both pregnancies and both babies as they came along
