rsonally, I am not yet a parent, but my highest value in life is the golden rule. Honesty and integrity make close seconds, though. I also value how I live my life, and how I can help others while I'm here is important.
eWhat is the most important thing you tried to teach your kids about life?
For those without kids, what is your highest value in life? Integrity? honesty? kindness? living life to the fullest?

Honesty is first on the list. Respect for others. Compassion/kindness. Assertiveness, enough to stand up for themselves.
I have found teaching them is not enough. You have to live it. They will follow suit if we, as parents, do other than what we want them to do. As Grandma used to say, "Do not say, 'Do as I say, not as I do'."

I have found this addage rings true. IF as a leader I am an example to others around me, especially the young people, they will learn by following my example.
I am young myself and have learned best by immulating what I see others do that seems to work.
