There are so many wonderful places in the world and so it is easy to select favorite places. My favorite city is Sydney and I have been there twice. I first fell in love with it looking down on the harbor seeing the opera house and the harbor bridge. Singapore is a city I really like and I have been there times.
Have you any favorite places? If so where?
How many times have you visited them?
If once would you like to go there a second time?

I travel quite a bit and there are so many destinations that I would love to go back to. But, living on the west coast of California, I have to say that Hawaii is by far my favorite travel place. It is close enough to home where the flight is only 6 hours, it's a great family destination, and there is something new to see with every visit. I've been there 8 times and be sure that I'll go back quite a few more times.

Sounds like you've been all over the Pacific. I've never been to French Polynesia, Cook Islands, or Samoa though I hope to go to Fiji sometime next year. We have some family firends from Fuji who are planning a trip back home and we hope to tag along. I've heard it is beautiful.

Wow! You have been to Hawaii eight times so you are very lucky. I love the islands in the Pacific Ocean. I have been to Hawaii, Fiji, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa each of them one time. I dream about going back but it they are far from my home land. I have been to California three times and my second favorite city in the world is San Francisco. Hawaii is a perfect destination for you and so I hope you go back many more times, after all it is only a six hour flight away. A six hour flight from my homeland would be the Gambia and the Cape Verde Islands. I so adore traveling.

Yes it is a dream come true. When I first traveled through Europe in 1966, I stayed on several beautiful Islands and envied the foriegn residents. However, married life and children changed life until after my divorce when I was able to trevel again.
I read an article in a Melbourne daily and decided I had to see Thailand. The year was 1988, and the same envious feeling returned. I fell in love wiyh Thailand and its people. Being made redundant in 1987 was actually a blessing in disguise.

Hi my friend Mipen. You are incredibly lucky to have spent the last ten years in the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. You got a job there and carried on living there so that is excellent. It must be hot and sunny all year round. It sounds perfect to me.

There’s a small beach resort in my state, its called DIgha. I just love this place. Its around 4 to 5 hrs drive from Calcutta and a wonderful weekend getaway. Though over the years it has become crowded and the beach is not so beautiful, its my favourite. Apart from the sea, there’s the casuarinas forest on the other side of the beach and it just draws me towards it. I have lost count how many times I’ve been there……..maybe 8 to 9 times, maybe more. You see, I’ve been going there since childhood with my parents, then with my friends and then with my hubby and then with our child

It think 4 or 5 hours drive is reasonable for a weekend trip. You have been to Digha many times and it sounds lovely there. The sea must be beautiful and the forest must be charming. It is wonderful to find a favorite place in childhood and to keep on visiting it in the future. It must have been lovely to share the place with your husband and then your child.

Believe it or not, people will be very friendly to you if you visit there. Also, all beijing people will give their seats to the old, weak, sick and disabled! Thus, you will feel good to see the phenomenon anway! I don't mean that other Chinese ciies are like that! If you visit China some day, you can visit the great wall in Beijing
Have a great day!

Hi Maxine, This is where we are so different as I know how much you love to travel. My very favourite place is home and even when I have ventured to other countries I have always had a yearning to be back home after a week of being away. As the saying goes there is no place like home. I have reat views, beautiful countryside and sea and sand on my doorstep what more could I want, well perhaps warmer water and a little less rain but that is also part of the attraction. I have as much fun in my waterproofs and wellies on the beach as I do in a bikini. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi Ellie. Your home does sound really special and so I can understand your favorite place is your home. Once? Twice. No. I guess you have been there many times. I have a countryside view and the coast is 10 minutes drive away. Yes, the weather could improve somewhat for my liking. Most of all I enjoy dry days and plenty of warm sunshine. I am so glad to hear that you still have fun in the wet days when the rain.

I have been lucky enough to go to one of my favorite places - London twice. I thoroughly enjoyed myself both the times I was there. I love travelling & find a number of places that are too good to resist. Las Vegas is the one at the top. It is one place where I would like to visit atleast once. Have heard so many stories about it from my friends.

When I was a teenager I worked in an office in London and sometimes I used to have lunch at Tower Bridge. I have been back to London for sightseeing a few times. I have heard Las Vegas is a awesome city with superb entertainment. I hope that you will go there twice.

I have visited the lake district in summer 2007. I have fallen in love withe the lakes, the poets and beatrix potter, the greenery, the stillness and the quietness that reigns there and I cannot find anywhere else. I am ready to visit the lakes anytime if someone provides me with a ticket.

One summer I went camping in the lake district and the weather was perfect. It was delightfully sunny and dry. The landscape was so beautiful with all the stunning looking lakes. You capture the atmosphere in your description so perfectly. I hope someone will send you a return ticket to the lake district.

Australia is my second favorite country and I have been lucky enough to spend much time there. The Sunshine Coast is a bit north from Brisbane I remember. Queensland is a gorgeous place to go for a holiday. Yes, the holiday time races by all too quickly. I adore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef with I have been to Fitzroy Island, Dunk Island, Magnetic Island, Stone Island, Daydream Island, Long Island, Hook Island and Great Keppel Island. I have been snorkeling many times.

Once in my life I traveled far and it was in Europe. I think I cannot go there again. But as you will ask about favorite place I have here in our place. And it was very local because it was here in my little small town. The only place that I was always be is our parish church. And this is my favorite no one can replace for me that place. I serve there and I really love to be there. Other places my favorite to go I think no more. Because if I were in this place all of my problems and every burdens will lose and I feel the true happiness in life even an hour. And it was great.

It is fortunate that your favorite place near your home so you can visit it quite often. It is lovely to hear that you get rid of some of your problems there. You went far away to Europe once so I am sure you have many happy memories of that trip. My favorite cities that I have been to in Europe are Prague, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Salzburg and Lisbon.

I don't really have any particular city which I like (so far). I love beaches and I used to go there quite often when I was a kid but time has changed. It's very far for me to travel to beaches nowadays. I'll always try to go to as many different places as possible, and most of them just visit once. Visit it more than once, and I might not have enough money for others.

Tropical beaches mean to me more than any city. My favorite is Samoa and so that would be challenging to visit twice given the distance and expensive flights. I visit as many different places as possible and I collect favorite places in to add to my list every so often.

Of course that is why it has become a favorite place. One time is never enough for a potential favorite place. I have found out that it is hard to get back to a favorite place. Those places are hard to come by.

I fell in love with Sydney when I flew over the opera house and the harbor bridge. I had a fantastic time exploring it and I got a nannying job so I could be there even longer. I carried on north after that ended and I reached Cairns, but I wasn't ready to go onwards. I came back to Sydney after a long stay in Brisbane. I would love to go to Sydney a third time, perhaps for the New Year fireworks.

I think most people will go back to a place they've been if they were able to enjoy in that place and had a wonderful experience. I have been to Baguio City, Philippines not only once but twice with my husband because our friendship turned to love started in that place. I've been in that City for about about 5 times but I consider the last two visits the most memorable and enjoyable ones. The first 3 were made by me together with high school friends, and the other one was made by me alone when I went there to visit my best friend. The place is cold and I enjoy the nice tourist spots there. I will never forget that place and I and my husband are planning to get back there this coming Christmas Season. We're also planning to get out of the country and go to Hongkong or Singapore if chance will allow us to.

It is excellent that you feel so happy when you visit Baguio City. It holds lovely memories for you and is special for your friendship turned to love there. You two got married so that is fantastic. I have been to Hong Kong and Singapore. I hope you and your husband will get the chance to go one of those great cities. Good luck with future traveling.

I love the UK, I'm a South African girl that lives in Portugal, and I've been here just about since the age of 5. I live in Portugal but not on the continent, I live on one of its islands, Madeira Island to be exact. Okay it might be a nice quick holiday stop, but it has hardly any wildlife and is so small. I love animals and prefer the minimal wildlife, and loved the crows, foxes and o on. Then there's the amusement parks, I so fell in love with it, the ones we get here only come now and then and they are tiny and boring compared to most year round amusement parks you can find in the UK. Here there's these pewny things that people find so exciting but once you've had a taste of the UK rides it all seems a bit dull. And the fact I could talk English 24/7 was a highlight of my day. I guess I'm just a bit sick and tired of the island I live in, and I feel in love with the UK. I went there 2 times. Once for about to months in Slough area 4thmes road if my memory serves me right and a second time I went to Irlam in the countryside of Manchester I think. I hope to return!

I've been to a couple of places that I just loved twice.
Stonehenge is one of those places.
The Butchart Gardens http://www.butchartgardens.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 just outside Victoria B.C. is another.
And the Anasazi ruins of the Four Corner's area is another place I love to visit and have been more than once. http://www.faculty.de.gcsu.edu/~dvess/ids/amtours/anawciv.htm
