What now?

I've been with my boyfriend for more than three years now. He is the sweetest most loving guy I have ever been with. Our friends always feel that we were perfect for each other and that we should get married.
But my boyfriend is the only one supporting his ailing mom. In addition to this, he also has a sister in college.
He constantly tells me of his plans for our life together. But everytime we get to save for our future, his family's needs make it impossible to save anything.
I love him very much but I feel that we are going nowhere. In the three years we have been going out we haven't saved a bit for us.
I don't know what to do...

you know what? I've been with my BF for almost 6 years now. We have never saved before even if we wanted to. I have your boyfriend's situation too so I could probably see it the way he does. During the time I took care of my sick mom, i needed a whole lot of understanding. I wanted him to leave me alone but be there always at the same time. very confusing. I was facing the reality that my mom may die anytime, and at the same time, facing the reality that I might lose the love of my life because of my problem. I felt like I had to choose between two important people and it wasn't easy.Try to be the most understanding person for him. 3 years is still short. you can still go a long way. unless you are 60 years old and is in quite a hurry . just kidding. :-)

Same here with me. I have been with my boyfriend for three years, but still we haven't got any savings for our future. But that doesn't startled me yet cuz we're still young. But in your case, you're already 31 and that would be devastating. I couldn't think of any suggestion but to pray for it, or to let go of your boyfriend. It is still up to you on what you'll do with your situation.
