It all depends on how mature they are, and what the date includes. I dont think teenagers have any business going off alone together in a car somewhere. That might sound crazy, but I have been a teenager and I know that being alone just leads to temptation.

It depends on what u classafy as a "date" going out with a group of 6 or more. They can start that around 12. "double dates" not before 14. but it also depends on how well you have edcuated your child. How mature they are and of course the big issue is trust.

I don't have kids yet, but I say after highschool. My life would have been so much easier and so much less emotional if my parents had put that rule in place! Of course, I say that now, but probably would have thrown a hissy fit back then!

When they can drive 16. Before that I know that they will have little boyfriends or girlfriends but I will be in charge of where they go and what they do since I have to drive them.

It depends on the maturity of the child, what they consider "dating" my daughter said she was dating someone when she was 9, that was just a school thing. Dating as in the boy takes her out (with parents present) or they're hanging out together outside/the mall, I'm thinking 13-14. Now I also insist I meet the boy and his parents first.
