Do you still practice eating nakakamay?

I sometimes eat using my hands at home but outside, the last time I used my hands to eat was when I was in college and we went to this prison and visited some inmates wherein we'd interview a few and even eat with them. I brought plactic utensils that time which wasn't really a good idea so I just took them away and ate with my hands while my classmates insisted on struggling to eat with those plactic forks and spoons, fortunately, the inmate that I got to interview was eating using his hands so I wasn't the only one eating like that (^_^ )

I still do... it is is fried fish like tilapia... lapu lapu and galunggong... i fell that the meal tastes better if i am using my hands... and it is so difficult to eat fried fish with rice using spoon and fork... or i prefer my hands... or fingers to be exact...

Yes, but it depends on what foods and where i am eating. When i am eating at home with dried fish or friend meat and any dry dishes i am eating with my hands. But when i am eating outside like im in fastfood chain or restuarant i use spoon and fork. Happy posting.

yes we still do kamayan at home but depends on the "ulam" also. If the ulam is finger food like tuyo, adobo, fried chicken, etc, its still good to eat nakakamay.but when the ulam is sinigang or nilaga, that would possible.

i still do especially eating grilled foods such as seafoods and grilled meat! it's very enticing to eat especially when you're outdoors like beach and resorts. no need for fork and spoons to be classy in this places anyway. have a good one!

maybe it depends upon the food we're eating. When we eat crabs or shrimps or sometimes even fried chicken. It's more love doing when we're on picnics, more especially after swimming. Have a nice day as well...

I rarely use my hands to eat hehehe not that good on eating with it. But I try to eat with my hands when its fish or fried chicken.

Hello n30win, Well, at home, I still do eat kamayan style, as well as my parents and sister whenever it applies. For instance we have crabs or shrimps, it is hard to eat with fork and spoons, so I eat with my bear hands.

yes, i eat with my bare hands when eating grilled fishes. I ate it when we dine in a restaurant here in our place where Kamayan is the main course.It's good to use our hands once in a while while eating foods,only that you have to washed your hands with soap and sanitizer. It smells for a couple of hours (hahaha)

I still do especially when I feel like the food is something yummy. Like you I like grilled and dried fishes (especially the ones from Cebu). Now, I remember I had to wash hands so that we can use our hands because we were eating in a grill house.

I still eat with my hands at home depending on the food. Also, way back when we still have family outings at the beach, most of us would eat with our hands and banana leaves, yummy!

I still use my hands when eating especially when I really like the food. I think we have a bigger percentage of Filipinos still use this way of eating.

Not really... I only eat with my hands (nagkakamay) when I have to. Like, if we go through a KFC drive-through and I order chicken. If I'm really hungry, I'd eat it in the car and since you can't really get the meat with flimsy, plastic utensils that they give you, I'd use my hands. It's not like I don't want to eat with my hands. It's just that when I get out of the table, I grab my walker so my hands should be clean. It's pretty interesting, really, because I CAN peel shrimp and get crab meat out of its shell pretty effectively too with a spoon and fork -- a learned talent, I suppose. :) Happy eating! :D

yes i still eat with hands even in some so called social area. this is my habit and i am comfortable to use my hand if i eat grilled food, dried fish. wow so fantastic. I never ashamed doing it infront of many people. we have a class restaurant here that almost all eaters used their hands to eat, so you don't worry about it.

I used to but I haven't done it in a long time. It feels good to do it especially when you get your hand all soaked up with the flavor of the food you're eating.

Yeah I do but I havent done it lately. I love eating nakakamay especially when I eat sinigang. LOL. I dont know why but I find it more tasteful when I do it. LOL

I still do whenever I go to the province. I love eating nakakamay once in a while. It brings memories and I could bond with the people in my province. Usually I do this at picnics and nature trips plus add the banana leaf.

I still do especially when I'm eating sea foods like crabs, lobsters and big shrimps because I couldn't enjoy eating them using the usual fork and spoon. It makes me really full when I do that. When go to the beach, we eat by our own bare hands because its like (for me) being able to liven up the Filipino value of simplicity.

I still do, too! Any grilled or fried food would warrant lots of rice, a bottle of ice cold Coke, and of course, chowing it all down using just your fingers. =)
