Yes, I have been through a lot of earthquakes in Iceland. They were big ones but our houses are built to withstand earthquakes and fortunately no people were injured. We also had active volcanoes in our area and plenty of euruptions. Never been through a flood or bad tornadoes, only a few hurricanes.

Iceland lies on a big "earthquake line" (I forgot the English name for it). We know of the possibilities of big earthquakes and we are perpared for them. The euruptions from the volcanoes were never very close to my house and I never felt unsafe.
In 1973 there was a big eurption in the Westman Islands in Iceland. It's a small island south of Iceland and almost everythign on the island was destroyed apart from the church. I have seen videos from that and it is amazing to see it. Everyone was rescued from the island and a few years later, most of the people moved back and rebuilt all the houses. We don't let nature disturb us. There is no place on earth that is really safe to live. If they don't have earthquakes and euruptions, there is something else.

I was in an earthquake back in 1994 in Reading PA. It was only a 4.6 quake with a 4.0 aftershock. I was about 10 miles from the epicenter and it shook the apartment building but did not do any damage. Homes nearer to the spicenter were damaged though. It was the largest quakes in Pennsylvania history.

Once, in a town near Jingganshan, trapped by a big flood.
We parked the car on the street (the only main street of the town), not the highest location. It rained heavier and heavier. Our car was flooded away for about 100 meters, and my suitcase was in the car (the car was sent for me, and we rushed out the car in a rush). My camera, pda, and mobile were damaged. Later I found out that the PDA was still functionable, but there was dried mud on the inner side of the screen).
Soon it turned out very dark, and suroundings were water, water, and the big sound of running water. The electricity was blockout, darkness' everywhere.
The chief of the town was a lady, shes there in responsible for disaster rescuing. No electricity, no phone. I werent of much help to her.
They were arraning for our sleep there, but I insisted we should leave.
The rain stopped. Finally they arranged a truck for our leaving. As the road was flooded, big truck couldnt get through the damaged road. Small truck couldnt resist the water on the road.
On the segment of the damaged road, there was a man in front of us leading our truck through. The deepest water on the road must have 2 feet.
We finally got through this adventure.

I have been through a hurricane. Hurricane Charlie to be exact. We had no power for about 2 weeks and we couldn't drink the water because it was contaminated. The worst part was there were more hurricanes on the way. The whole city was still flooded when the second hurricane came through. Then the third.

I have lost track of the names now I've been through so many. We had no power for several weeks last year due to one of the storms. We had a generator at work.

I have been in both an earthquake and a flood. We were in Vegas when there was a small earthquake. We've also had small earthquakes in California. My most recent earthquake was here...about a year ago! It was funny though.. a little scary too. I was at work and we started shaking.
