the more you practice, the better you will become. There are a few things I have been trying to get good at practically my whole life. And I still haven't gotten the hang of.
For example, I still can't sew a button on to save my life. I was very glad for the iron on badges toput on my Girl Scout Sash. Does this saying ring true for you? Have you practiced until you got really good at anything? Or have you still fallen short of your own expectations?

Practice does make perfect if you have the ability to do it. But there are certain things that we all can not do. Sewing seems to be one that you just do not have the ability for. We all have our own abilities, It is best to concentrate on the ones that you can be good at.

Hello dear ersmommy. I think that it is true indeed that practice makes perfect. Although you have mentioned that you still cannot sew a button on to save your life, I think, you are making progress in improving your skill of doing it. You know, it is, in fact, a process of getting perfect. There is no end so far as learning is concerned. Or in other words, we are getting perfect so long as we learn.
Take me for example. Before I started to mylot, I was very slow in typing those words that I needed to use because I was a slow typist. As time goes by, my typing skill and speed has been greatly improved. I am typing much faster and I don't have to look at the keyboard each time I type a word. Of course, compared with very fast typists, I still have a long way to go, yet I am making progress and getting more perfect than I used to.
In short, trust yourself, my dear friend, that you are making perfect. Learning never ends and getting perfect is a never-ending process. Thank you for your nice discussion that interests me a lot. Happy New Year to you and your family, ersmommy.

Hrm.. I can't say that I've practiced, practiced, practiced much of anything. I should, of course, as self-improvement in any area probably makes one feel good about themselves.

For me, its your willingness to your learn that really makes a task perfect. :D
Practice is just an add on.. However you practice, if there is no willingness, I doubt that you will learn it... Though learning something you really dont know will take A lot of time, but if you really love to learn it, it will lessen the work..
just my thoughts...

Hi friend,Yes its true and I do believe that practice makes a man perfect.Anything which is new to us is hard to understand and only as you practice and practice we become a master of that art.Without practice anything is not possible to become perfect. There is much difference in two people doing a kind of work or anything games or art,or whatever it is,between a person who has practiced for years and a person doing it for the first time.
Thanks for sharing.happy mylotting

I think in most cases, it is true that practice makes perfect. People learn through experience and doing it over and over again will make one realize their mistakes or faults and will try to avoid doing the same error again. So, he/she will do better the next time. In sports, it is very applicable because for you to be a good player of a sport, you need to do it over and over again until you have memorized the in's and out's, do's and dont's of the said sport.

Yes, practice does make a man perfect. If you try once or just a few times & fail & then don't try again, then you will never succeed. So, you will try on practising, if possible, till you succeed. If you fail when practising, then remember that failure is the stepping stone to success!!!

Yes...practice always helps you improve. To practice simply means to fortify new neural pathways in the brain. The more we pratice the clearer the pathways become. By the way practice does not make perfect because perfection deos not exist.

in my opinion,I do believe practice makes better, but not perfect.
you are born to do one thing, and not to other things.

All I do believe is that practice WILL make us better. It's just like that when you first trying to walk, it is practice too, right? people are try to get better in something is not so different I say, specially if that something is like the one that you are depending your life into.
So for me, practice is the answer if we want to make things we like or things we do better.

Well if it doesn't make perfect then it improves us alot. Lucky I can sew. My mom taught me to sew at age seven and I was making my own dolls clothing it was fun when I was younger then I took classes in high school that taught me to make my own clothes and I have made a few things since. I love making pillows instead of buying them it is cheaper to make Dora pillows for $7 for two then $12.99 each. Sadly no one around(my in-laws) me knows how to sew so I am always sewing this and that for someone or sewing a button on. Yeah I started to learn to crochet when I was 12 and I had to practice and practice and I never thought I would be able to crochet as good as my mom or granny but I did and now I crochet really good and enjoy making stuff for gifts. Knitting I have tried and tried and can only do 2 types of stitches and I just can't get the hang of the other stitches right and it come out okay but I can make sweaters, scarves, hats, and mittens just not with the pretty fancy designs like I can when I crochet.

i think it does.. For us to succeed we have to have some skill, best example would be sports.. without practice, there's no hoaning of skills.. sometimes, it's frustrating to practice, especially when you can't seem to get it right but we can get a lot with just the concept of practice.. we learn to be patient, we learn to work hard, we learn to set our goals and in a sense we mature:)

perfect practise makes perfect. stole this from sam snead. this relates to every aspect of the game. once you have a good repeating grip. the fundamentals come easier. find a good instructor, one who is capable of teaching swing to people with different body styles. to many instructors want to teach the same swing to a 6 foot 18 year old and a sixty year old. it is impossible. if you cannot afford lessons, please no offence .the library will have a great instruction book, golf for dummies. best instruction book available. start with one foot putts . learn the sport/game from the hole backwards. it still is the time proven method . stay patient. nobody has yet mastered the game . just enjoy. try to play advanced players. or find a old person who could play. there best days are behind them.but more than willing to help novice golfer. my days are going but enjoy helping others. best of luck.

As a magician constant practice is very important when it comes to magic. It might be frustrating at first but in time I learned how to improve the trick and perform it smoothly and properly.I wouldn't say that practice really makes perfect especially in magic because there are still chances that the trick will fail. So for me practice doesn't make perfect but makes things better.

it means that after you have plenty of practice in what you are doing, you will be perfect in it.
He who will practice a lot will master the skill more quickly.
The most important thing maybe how to put what we have learned into practice.
