Ever since I got this new mobile number, I've been getting calls looking for the same person named "Ah Gu". I told them countless of times that I'm not him and told them to tell everyone they know that I am not him. And stop calling me!
Still the same. It's better now though, after about 2 years. LOL.
But my case is not the worst. My sister used to get this call from a guy (stranger) in the middle of the night, everyday, telling her she sounds very nice and wants to talk to her. :|
Do you have some weird experience such as this?

Yes I did have the same experience. I do have this previous number which a girl always send so much messages. Also at midnight I would always receive a call in which she would ask who I am.
Kinda scary because I do not know the person. I just change to a new number and good thing no more calls from someone whom I didn't know.

I think it does get a bit creepy if you get a call from an unknown girl in the middle of the night. :|

Can you change your number ?do you say your number when someone calls? If you recognise the numbers maybe your net work can bar these numbers. It is worth a having a look at, if not I would dump the phone and or change your number and be very careful who you give your number to.A friend of mine used to get terrible calls and she only gave her number to people who knew her, they reckon it was someone she knew.I had a terrible time once I used to get phone calls at home of a disgusting nature.I used to clean houses and they started up at one of the peoples homes I cleaned and i never really told anyone where i worked how wierd is that.I packed the job up as it was mile away from anywhere and I walked there on my own.I did figure out who it was and dropped a few hints about getting the police envolved if it did not stop and low and behold he did not want to lose his job as farm manager or lose his wife and family and it stopped,no more calls.

I think it's not possible to actually bar those numbers using my mobile phone, and it's even more impossible to request my telco to do that for me. LOL. But it's getting better now, so it's not all that bad.

Prank calls...I had so many experience on that. I receive threats, sometimes my ex bf's gf even calls me up and threatens me. There's this guy too who wants and asks me to meet him, but when I asked he who is, he is not familiar to me. Though that guy knows my name. Worse experience I had was this, "Get out of your house, if not I will kill you" , a guy's voice.
I know I have no enemies yet those words scared me so much. Luckily, it was just a prank. Am still alive, anyways.

Most phones have that. Just the problem is, maybe there are some people who are not in your phone book. :D

This has not happened to me, but my younger brother gets calls for a Doctor on his cell phone. This happens because the people are not dialing the correct area code. So, he has the same 7 digits as this Doctor's office, but different area codes. People have even left voicemails for the doctor on my brother's voicemail. Do they NOT listen to the main message where my brother says who he is? Apparently not. He has told the people who have called that they have the wrong number and he is not their doctor. This has been an ongoing thing, but has subsided after at least 3 years...What a pain!

Yes. Pretty much the same.. We have a home phone number, and most of the time, we will receive calls from different firms, like law firm, collection agency, banks, and the likes looking for the same name. LOL.. thats why we assumed that the former owner of our number owed a lot of people.

I've had worse! There was this one time when I received a text message on my mobile. The guy who texted me told me that he was my older brother and that he just had an accident. He said if it would be alright if I send him money and closed the message with "don't worry I will call you later to explain everything."
I was so pissed because I know of people like this guy who scam people by asking them to send money.
The thing that made me ever madder is the fact that he could have at least come up with a better scam - I don't have an older brother!

I used to get calls at my old number from people speaking Spanish, I had to politely explain to them a few times that no, I wasn't the guy they were calling for. They must have been suspicious or thought I was lying because they kept calling back asking for him again and again - finally I guess I convinced them that I really had no idea who he was.
The only other time was when I got a phone call from a little old lady who had dialed the wrong number. I think she was trying to get ahold of her grand-daughter and she was lonely. I ended up chatting with her on the phone for about half an hour because she sounded so lonely. :-/
