Lately, in my country, the newspaper have been highlighting the achievement of students who excel in public examinations without the help of tuition class. So, its come up to my mind that is there really need to send students for tuition class. Did they think that school teachers are not doing a good job in school? What do you think about it? Does this happens in your country too?=)

Actually I was also going to tuition. You may not believe but I went to tuition right from my first grade. When I was a kid, obviously I won't be interested in studying unless someone teaches me. My parents are not graduates and so they sent me to tuitions.
But when I was doing my 6th grade, I said my mom that I can study by myself. But my mom never wanted to take risk in my studies. She just didn't believe me and sent to tuition again. Lol.
The reason why mom did that was of course out of love. She wanted me to study well.
When someone else see that I am getting good marks, they will start thinking that its because of the tuition and they will start sending their child. Lol. Teachers in School were teaching good when students were just learning from them. When students started going to Tuitions, they never listen to what the teacher in the School are saying. So that made the school teachers not to teach. Lol.

Hi vidhyavini...Wow, you go to tuition since your first grade. Anyway, I agree that teachers at school done their job well but because many parents send their children to tuitions that makes their children doesn't want to listen to their school teachers. I also went to tuition but since I went to boarding school I stop my tuition classes and start to study by myself. And I still done well without the help of tuition classes.=)

Thank God that I didn't do my Engineering in my home town. I went to Chennai and was staying in hostel. If I was in my home town, my mom would have sent me to tuition again.

If you look at it this way, why do parents send children to play sport?
The principle is the same, they want thier child to succeed in something, in this case it's an academic study. Now that doesn't neccesarily mean the child is going to be a genius, that happens to be natural talent.
Just as a parent sending thier son or daughter to a Football clinic, it isn't going to mean they are going to get on the National Team.
Tuition Classes is about habit forming, it is also about getting ahead of yourself, not the rest of the world.
I wonder how many Tutored Students are ahead of those whom aren't tutored, truth is, academia is something which comes naturally to some people, while the rest of us can be tutored for the rest of our lives and still fail to spell correctly
muawahahahahahha

I've noticed many friends or younger generation around me did go for tuition classes always, some even go for tuition every day. Some even started tuition when the kids are in kindergarten or primary school. Moreover, some go for a big tuition class which consists as many as 50 students in the class, it's about the same in the school class. Well, I do not understand why the parents do so. I did ask my younger cousin before, she wanted to go tuition by herself. She told me the teachers in school didn't teach well, and she was afraid she would fail the main exams, so she preferred to look for some good tuition classes and go for them. Also, this brought up a culture that the students do not ask questions to the teachers in school, but they ask the tuition teachers. I guess, slowly the school teachers don't feel like teaching properly anymore in school, but they teach better in the tuition classes.
It's quite sad to see this kind of culture is still going on in my country.

Hi kaka135...Yes I agree with you. Nowadays, many parents doesn't believe anymore to teachers at school to teach their children. As you've mentioned, your cousin herself want to go to tuition. This show that students also didn't believe to teachers to teach them. They preferred to have their own tuition teachers to teach them. I don't know why this happens even we all know that the tuition teachers also teaching at school but why most of people still think that tuition's teacher are better than school's teacher. There are just the same from what I see. =)

Here in our country, there are also some parents especially those rich family, they send their children to the exclusive school in the city which is the tuition school or what we called "private school".. Most of the students in the private school are coming from the 1st and 2nd class family, which means these students are rich.. They can pay the expensive tuition in the school.. Well, most of the students were also want to study in the exclusive schools than in the public school because of being popular and most of all for good opportunity in the future..
On the other hand, public school here in our country are those coming from poor family..Those parents can't afford to pay for tuition.. And those rich kid who don't have a good academic standing for the exclusive school.. Well, I admit that in here those students in the public school can't have a good education because of lack of facility especially in the grade school and high school.. And then most of the companies in here are very much particulate with the school you had graduated.. If you are from in the exclusive school then you might be the 1st in the list but those who had not graduated in an exclusive school, only the grades and the skills can make you qualify.. There's really a bias.. Well, as for me I graduated in an exclusive school so,after i graduated I was accepted in a job even though I am not that qualified..

Hi kissie34...Thanks for your opinion. I agree with you that study in the exclusive or famous school will help you to get a good job in the future. Also, with good facilities and teachers will gives the quality that most of the parents want for their children even the companies want the students that graduated from exclusive school. But, then it would be bias to students that study at public school. Whatever it is it's still depends on the students to show the quality and ability that they have.=)

i think that parents send thier children to tutuion class to make their children more smart, more genious and to gain more marks in every subject. what they dont think that do my child need a tution. most of the childrens dont need any tution to study they can learn from thier school classes, in fact going to tution is an additional burden to many childrens and this can lead tro connstant failure in a particular subject even for a bright student. i dont say that tution is a bad thing , but if you can study without a tution then going for a tution class is just the waste of the precious time you have.

Hi mnr...Yes I agree with you. Most of the parents nowadays didn't ask their children whether they need a tuition or not. They just think that tuition will help their children to get a better result in exam. But, they will give a big burden to their children and wasting their time and energy if they do not need tuition.=)

yeah well they send hteir kids to tuition czuz they dont trust hte teachers tht at school
its not wht the teacher does its wht the student does
if the student knws the he or she will study it all again at tuition then they dont pay attention
so i think tuition is a waaste of time and money

HI kunizzul,
When we talked about exclusive schools, their facilities are more advanced and class size is very limited so each student will be given an attention really by the teachers unlike in public schools....
In my COuntry, there are 65-70 students in each classroom in public school and the classroom is not very conducive for learning, hot and poor ventilation!

We pay for our children's tuition everything we send them to school. Public or private are just the same. It is a common thing here in our country.

yes I believe there are few public schools that are really good but most are not. There are only select few schools that are doing good. I for one, send my kids to the private school. Main reason is that they are well taken care of because we pay tuition. Teachers are teaching our kids properly, the have close follow up of the kids' progress. They will notify parents for all the activities our kids are doing in school. In short, I feel safe when my kids are in the Tuition school/Private school.

I think there is not any need to send students to tutition classes. It does nothing other than overburdening the poor child who gets no time for play or leisure which is so sad for a child. All the time he is told to study which makes him rebellious. I have never had tution except for one year and it never affected my studies. I have always been at the top of my class and also been able to enjoy life along the way. I dont think children should be burdened in this way. there is more to life than maths and science

The big market of tuition class has proved its value. No requirement, no big market.

I think parents who send their children in private schools believe that there is more supervision given to to their children in terms of security than those in public schools.
With regard to academic excellence, i believe both have the same capabilities to hit the high marks since learning does not only depend on the teachers or instructors but to the student as well.
