Well, I was sitting here, mylotting, and thinking of bed when I heard a funny sound. I looked over to where Taj was sleeping and he was lapping in his sleep. He lapped for a while, then seemed to chew a bit then lapped some more. I wonder if he was dreaming of his baby food treat I haven't fed him?

I was just thinking about how I used to wake up with food in my bed from sleepwalking and eating... I wonder if pets do that too.

Well, he didn't come down and actually eat the food, he was just dreaming about it!

Hi ElicBxn, That is so adorable. Our Anna Belle sometimes sleeps with a little bit of her tongue sticking out. Just too cute! She also does a bit of 'talking' in her sleep at times.

Solo and Sassy will both sleep with their tongues sticking out. My mom used to have a cat that I would grab the tongue, it stuck out that far! Used ta piss her off!

You never know. COULD be wild elk. Remember my comic strip! Maggiepie (who's lost count...this could be the 500th.... But I just noticed, it's not reaching 500; the rules say you must post a greater number than 500 to get the perks. Dang they're strict!)

Yeah, I hear the cats twitching a lot too. I don't want to feed him baby food if he's still got most of a can of cat food in his bowl, for one, the cat food is a LOT less expensive!

That's funny. I know my dogs will whimper occasionally while they sleep, like they are dreaming. I have even heard of people doing odd things while sleep walking. Hum...

I've seen and heard cats & dogs make noise and twitch in their sleep, but I really think they'd have a problem walking, too many things going on.

That is so funny... guess he misses his teeth, after all. I thought it was odd when my Harmony moaned in her sleep the other night. Don't know what she was dreaming about, and maybe I don't want to know, either...

I think he's a much happier cat now, and if he wants some baby food, well, I gave him a jar just because I thought he deserved it!

I think that he was in REM sleep and dreaming like when they run in their sleep. I also think it is instinct in them like sucking is in humans. When a human has a stroke and is in a coma sometimes they will revert back to sucking like a baby does. It does not mean they are coming out of their coma it just is something that is instinct in us.

Oh, yeah, he was dreaming. I've seen many a cat twitch and the like, it was just funny to hear that lapping sound coming from him. Yeah, I know about REM sleep - seems that while I don't remember most of my dreams, that after my car accident I cried out in my sleep for some time - like over a year...

How funny. I bet he is dreaming about that. I wonder if he will wake up wanting it or if he will get full in sleep eating? hahaha Earlier I was sitting here and kept hearing something and it was my cat snoring, she was sacked out.

I'm afraid he woke up hungry. He got down and finished off most of the rest of his can of cat food.

do u heated for him to make it warm or just give it out of the jar? he can probably lick it from his bowl on his own.

right outta the jar, he doesn't care if its warm, but it does have to be in a bowl, since the jars are too small to get much of his big nose in!

Animals do strange things sometimes. My dog used to do things like that. (she's passed on now) My cat meows in his sleep sometimes.

Looking out for each other... more like "hey, shut up, I'm trying to sleep here!"

I had a dog when I was a kid who howled in her sleep - only time she EVER howled actually! If one of the cats gets too noisy, another cat wakes them up, worried I guess.

Atleast they look out for each other. My kitty is an only child. (besides the human kids that is)

I've had them twitch and "chitter" in their sleep, but full scale meows seem to provoke another cat to wake them up!
