Do you ever cancel your plans because of rain ?

Me and my girlfriend were planing to spend today buying cloths as we received some money from her mother 2 weeks ago and today was our free day for this, but it is such a crappy day out there (much rain, strong wind, low temperature, not to mention the dark sky) that we are seriously thinking of doing this some other time.
How about you, have you ever had to cancel your plans because of rain ? If yes, please elaborate on that.

lol. Well this is rarely a situation that I ever have to confront because it seldom rains here in Cairo elitess! And even when it does rain in the winter months it is never hard enough to cause any major issues at all so any plans I have don't really get affected. Back home in Australia though, we used to get some very severe tropical thunderstorms and there was no way you would be stupid enough to go outside in that kind of weather! I have been driving before when the storms hit and have had to pull over to the side of the road because I couldn't even see out of my windshield, even with the wipers going full blast! When storms like these hit, all you could do was hope that the electricity didn't go out and then just stay inside and watch TV etc until it passed.

I actually miss rain more than you can imagine elitess. Especially summer rains when you can stand outside in the warmer temperatures and feel the rain drenching you from head to toe! You never full appreciate something like this until you haven't had the chance to experience it for a while..... Thanks for the best response tag too.

Hi elitess,
We normally go by car and park in the multy storey car park and the shops are all under one roof so no chance of us getting wet or wind swept, so we always go shopping when we plan to.

Hi there Tamara. The thing is that i don't have a driving license (but my girlfriend does) but furthermore we don't own a car at this moment so we did not have that option on the table or else we would have probably went that day. The good thing is that yesterday was a sunny day so we put our plans into actions then.

Yes...it was supposedly a reunion of our my high school friends and we are planning to have swimming on the beach. Unfortunately, a typhoon came and we have to move our plan three weeks just to make sure that the beach is calm anymore. However, whenever it is raining, I always wanted to stay at home since it is much more comfortable to sleep since it's cold and going outside is dangerous because of floods and strong winds.

Changed plans many time in my life when a tennis match was scheduled and it was raining outside. There was once such a rainy season that I ended up having to forfeit two games because rain kept us from rescheduling.
Also, we attend a lot of festivals in my area, and while the festival still goes on no matter what the weather, we would cancel our plans in weather like you describe above.

I never cancel my plan with just a light rain but with a hard rain with storms or just really hard rain I do cancel my plans to go out side even if it is important. There's now way I would leave the house with a hard rain just to be stranded. Most of street here got flooded with a hard rain and it's really hard to find taxi or any means f public transportation with these kind of weather.

Same as what happened to your plans actually. My friends and I would plan to go to a movie trip and just hang out and eat after the movie but it would always be cancelled whenever the weather doesnt agree. It would ruin the plans but we'd just reschedule. Still it gives a bit of a hassle since we would already be psyched to go on the movie just to be foiled but rain water.

Well, you're talkin' to a goth gurl:) I love jumping rain puddles and i luv blustery weather-mainly cuz i live in Florida and it's too hot mostly, plus humid. Lately, a cold front from Canada zoomed in with 40-30 degree F weather. It's very nice. This weather won't last long though.

When it's pouring, I do tend to cancel plans to head out. Driving in the rain is not that easy you know! I also don't like getting wet. Even if I have an umbrella, walking in the rain makes my shoes and slacks dirty, so I'd rather not go out. If it's important I'll go though and just find a covered parking lot.

Yes, that's what I do when there is heavy rain. I don't like getting drenched in rain. As the matter of fact, of all the seasons, rainy season is the one that I dislike most.

Wow what a coincidence, it is raining here in my place too. Actually i am going to attend a community services this afternoon but i opted not to go there because of the rain. I hate it when it rain for our city gets flood easily and it cause a major traffic in the highway. Too bad that our government official cannot do about it for our area is below sea level. When it rain i like to stay home a do my other things to do.

If we have outdoor plans, like a picnic or time at a park, then yes we will cancel. We live in an area where there are often tornado warnings in the spring and the autumn. That will definitely alter our plans! We are advised to stay indoors during those weather warnings. The main thing that has altered our plans has been snow storms. We have had snow storms on holidays when we were planning to drive long distances. We have had to cancel Christmas visits because of the snow a couple of times. Of course, we celebrate later when the weather permits.

Yes, I always cancel my plans if it is raining. I do not want to go out shopping for groceries if it is raining for it is difficult on my part carrying in your hands a handfull of plastic bags while on the other hand your umbrella. It is too messy for me.

I do sometimes because I have to catch a bus were I go, so I may need to cancel any plans of me going out. But sometimes when someone is coming to pick me up I do not cancel.
