Does God really hate homosexuals?

Just tell me! I'm very surprised that gay marriage was outlawed in California. It's a huge step backwards in our journey to a continuously improving world for minorities, and people who are just different. I'm beginning to think reality is just a huge elementary school playground. How could we possibly be better off this way?
It just doesn't add up to me. If God made homosexuals, why would it be a sin for someone to be who they truly are?
I don't believe in God, but my stomach turns to hear my friend, who grew up in a very religious family [I'm talking Jesus fish on every item in the house] and she has this outrageous disgust of homosexuals. Ellen Degenerates showed up on the TV screen and she called her "Stupid." She's never even seen that show. So, are we really going to say it's reasonable to judge someone because of who they love?
I thought love was like, God's middle name. I thought they said God IS love.
I may not believe in God, the "Jesus Loves Me" pencil that I was drawing with earlier may not invoke any special feelings inside me, but I believe that love is the most beautiful thing in the world, no matter what form it takes, and this belief should be universal, regardless of religion!
Don't bother responding if you're going to ignore my discussion and try to convert me. No more of that. It won't work.

Eventually, the Christians will probably say "Oh, but that part doesn't count any more" just like they did with the stoning of the disobedient children. It's pure discrimination, plain and simple. If they want to cover it up with religion, fine.. I still see it as plain bigotry.

That's what eats at me the most, who decides what parts are "up to date" and which ones should be thrown out? Life is different than it was back then, they say. It really isn't, we just learned to do more things with machines.
They really have to make up their minds! But all the while, I'm not going to treat anyone any different just because someone tells me they may or may not think it's the right thing. That's why I've gone my own way all this time and I've had no confusions as to what is right or wrong!

No...God would not hate homosexuals or anyone for that matter if there really is a God. It is people who are full of hate. I don't subscribe to any religion and this is just one example of why...most just do not make sense to me. Actually it is the people who follow the religions that do not always make sense. I am so glad that I was not born gay back in the 50s when I had to sit in on Catholic Mass every sunday as well as go to sunday school etc. Can you imagine being a kid and knowing you were gay and hearing how homosexuals were sinners and doomed to hell. It had to be harsh on them.

Well I am not a religious person, but I do have my own beliefs, but i think if people really believed the things they are taught from the bible then I think they are told that God does not hate and forgives all...but then I don't think there are many religions that agree with killing either but there seems to be a lot of it happening....

god doesn,t hate there is nothing in the bible that say god hate homosexuals what god said was he made male and female.so you see it,s not being a homosexual that god hates but itis. the act it self god hates.this is something they will have to deal with between them and god.god is love thats why he gave moses these laws to protect us.wether it was bible of old until now god words still still we don,t take part of gods words we take his words as awhole.i,ts your choice what you choose because god gave us freedom of thought to be what you want and he gave us his law it your choice.

Too bad that's what most believers miss it's about the love of God. I think that God loves everyone no matter what that person is, He loves us because He wants to be with all of us. I think it would be unfair to exclude anyone out of God's love especially that God wants all to be in His love.

Now this is serious business! Fist thing I want to say os that you said if God made homosexuals why would it be a sin. My response is You have to remember God Ceated Adam nd Eve. But that apple messed up alot of things. But my personal feelings on this situation is no you cant help being who you are nor who you love.
I and I also personally believe you should b able to marry whomever you wish to marry. It's a big issue for no reason. This world will never change when it comes to things like that. Just keep being who you are and deal with whatever obsticals you come across. If one day you are standing at the pearly gates and its time for you to be judged only God has the pwoer to judge you. So it might not be fair if you think you could fight for it by all means do so. You control at least75% percent of your life ( you know the government controls the rest) Just do wut you feel in you heart.

I have one simple answer. God does not hate his creations, he hates the sin.

It does say somewhere in the Bible (I cant remember exactly what) that homosexuality is wrong but it also says other things are wrong yet you do not really hear a lot about strongly Religious people condemning people who are liars, envious etc. It is always homosexuality you hear about. Being gay may be wrong in the eyes of God but the bible also says to love each other and then of course is the story where Jesus said that he without sin should cast the first stone. Therefore those who hate homosexuals because it goes aginst what God says should look at other things in the Bible rather than using it as a justification for their hatred. I am stright and beleive in God but have no problem whatsoever with gays. I treat everyone with respect and do not judge people on who they prefer to date etc.

Ok personally I think that it has nothing to do with God. All we know about God is what men tell us and they say what they want us to believe. These men do not like homosexuals, they do not like women in any place but as inferior subservient beings, they claim they are the word of God and they are just men who want to rule the world in the name of God.
If they had their way we would be no better off than people in Afghanistan under the Taliban, especially if you are a woman. If you refused to accept a sub human role in life you would be executed.
The good thing is that we broke free of this religious nonsense and won our freedom. Oh no they are winning again. They got this law passed.
On a serious note this is just the brainwashing of homophobic people who want to control everyone and make them conform to their way of thinking. This is the first step. Their next moved will be to put women back where they think we belong. Beware!!!!

No He does not, and those that profess to speak for Him are really going to tick Him off if they keep saying that!
Homosexual tendencies are caused by a genetic condition, they've found. Doesn't that mean that God made them that way? Why should He hate that which He has created? I don't understand being that way but they have every right to do as they wish in regards to their relationships. And yes, I believe they should be able to marry.

I have pagan beliefs, and it is this very topic which is one of the reasons I turned my back on 'organised' religion. I don't believe God would hate ANYONE - whoever they are. I'm sure He would hate us to disrespect and abuse other human beings and creatures of the earth - and I think TRUE Christian values are to show understanding of others, walk a mile in their shoes and stop being narrow minded about things we don't understand. I would never try to convert anyone - I stay away from religious discussions because I don't think anyone can be swayed - but I'm sure God (in all his many guises) wants His people to be good and honest caretakers of the world and to look after eachother.

Hi Sheepie.
i don't understand how people are so narrow minded, if they understand these things they shouldn't say anthing about it, its up to people who they love and how they love. I agree with you, you talk a lot of sense.
