Do you feel that MyLot activities are reducing???

Hey Everyone.
I personally feel that MyLot isn't active as it was before. People who were mylotting for months and years are not available now. Most of them here are newbies who are actively participating.
I feel that Newbies just concentrate in Creating more discussions. I have seen many members creating discussions continuously in various interest. And if we click on that discussion, we can see a single line written there.
Do you people think that you can earn more by creating discussions?? Nope. Only if your discussion get responses, you will earn. And again the amount depends on how descriptive responses your discussion get. To get descriptive responses, you should of course be descriptive.
Anyone else felt like this here in mylot?? Whats happening here??

I don't know if activity has decreased or not because I myself took a few weeks off to regroup. I was busy blogging, working on some crochet projects, etc.
I've been popping in here and there for the last two days and there hasn't been much going on, but then it always gets like that on the weekends, so I don't know if it's a true indication of what's going on now or not.

Ya I will definitely help. I am really fed up of seeing so many discussions from a same person. Have not seen yours.
We get paid for starting a discussion only if that discussion has atleast one response. Assume that you start a discussion with 1 line and most of the responses you get will also be 1 line. In that case you will not earn anything.
On the other hand, when you are descriptive in writing the description part, it will have more matter and quality in it and so the responses will also be descriptive. For those discussions you will earn more.
Quality of the discussion is the matter here and not the Quantity.
I just wanted the Newbies to understand this and start creating quality discussions. You also have a look at my blog where I have written my earning tips in mylot. Hope that helps.
All the best.

Posting a lot of new discussions is one way. You can also respond to a wide variety of discussions. :) Your responses need to be at least 5-7 sentences long, longer is possible, and they need to be thorough and helpful. :) If you can do this several times a day, you will see your earnings increase. :) Good luck and happy myLotting! :)

Well, personally, we are loosing a lot of the Old timers compared to what used to be here for various reasons now. Sometimes it could be that they grow tired of this site, or many times for people getting their discussions deleted maybe or they are Banned for a certain type of discussion here, or some of the Trash discussions continue to stay here as well.
I for one though, am one of the Old Timers as I have been active in here for over 2 yrs. now, and still really am enjoying being a member here. But the people here who are only often just starting new discussions that are only a line or two, how can they expect to make much in here as well? I guess we can only hope somehow this site can start to improve again somehow as well to keep people wanting to be active in here for sure.

A couple of people I know left because they said they got sick of having discussions deleted. In one case the person told me that none of their discussions had been deleted but those they had responded to. One person said they had responded to a lot of discussions from one of their friends who was banned so those points all disappeared. It is a shame when that happens but if a person infringes the rules then they could end up being banned. There must be some way that the member who responds in good faith does not lose points when someone is banned. That might encourage some of those who are leaving to return to myLot or even stoop someone from leaving.
The other thing is that people circumstances change or they find a site which suits them better. I do not like it that there are a number of one-liner discussions or responses but myLot has to be the one who deals with that.

Oops. Thats really bad. Even I got irritated when some of my discussions were deleted and the other discussions about the same remains. Still I never wanted to leave mylot. I just thought that I would better stop posting in "Make Extra Money" Interest.
Posting in that interest reduces my ratings also. Thats really bad.

Ya you are right. Even I had some of my discussions deleted. I wonder why mylot is deleting some discussion and leaving the other of same kind.
I started a discussion about Ciao and the way to earn there. The discussion was really going on well and many felt that to be useful too. Suddenly it disappeared. Mylot always has its own reasons and I never blame them. Lol.
I want the senior mylotters here. I wanted to see some good discussions by them actually. Lol. For the past few days I didn't see you also. Haha.

Yes,I feel so.When I go to many peoples profiles who has got higher number of posts, I found them inactive for the last 60 days notification. So I just concentrated on new people as new friends because they are found more active. But there is a fact in your words. Most of their discussions and posts are Single liners.
And I have also noticed that people are just creating discussions which have no sense. They look like as if "Ask the question and pass by".Even the person who asked the question seems least bothered about the subject.
Some of suggestions to better the situation are:
1) Start the topics only you are worried about or passionate about.
2) Took part actively in the discussion.
3) Don't ask Yes or No questions.
Thats all for now:) Let my fellow myLotters say anything!!

Well said.
I think the Newbies have to make this a point in themselves. And its really hard to find good discussions these days.
Some days back when I am responding to some good discussion, I will get a new thought from that discussion and will start that. But I never got any thoughts from the discussions posted now.
I joined some other paying forums for this reason only. But I still never want to leave mylot completely. I am hoping for the change here in mylot. I hope mylot will be back as it was.

I'm new myself so I don't know about the veteran mylot users, but I've got a response for all us 'newbies'..
"It's the economy."
Everyone's broke so they turn to anything that says free money. I'm not here now because I just happened to remember coming across this site awhile back and now I've made it back.
Don't look for any short responses from me, though..I type pretty fast =)

Yup thats great to see from a new member. Welcome to Mylot.
If you are not with Ciao, give that a try. You can have better earnings with that site also.

Your observation is most likely true. I also feel missing many of the old mylot members now-a-days. Many changes are occurring every day in the economic and political situation in the world affecting the employment and earning aspects of many people. Many people are facing the risk of losing jobs due to emerging economic slow down and crisis. Many people are desperately looking for newer opportunities for better earning and security. There are other factors too responsible for poor turn out of mylot. Thanks.

Ya you are right. Those are again the reason for more people joining here. They are in desperate need of money and trying to earn online. I have many friends like that too.
The quality of the discussion is not there as it was before. It just takes me too long than before to find a good discussion. I never felt that such a situation would happen to mylot where we have more than 1.5 lakh members.

Well I've been a Mylot member for over 3 years. I took a really long break from it. But I remember membership being over 700,000 at one point. Membership today is listed at only 152,814. I don't know if Mylot deletes inactive accounts or not, but it's definately feeling like a ghost town. But I'd rather have quality posts anyway.

I used to be a semi steady Mylot visitor. Went away for months and came back yesterday. I write on the internet to make money and can make much more on other sites. Writers like myself could blow their hits off the scale if we got paid more, it is what we do. I just popped in out of boredom.

Ya you are right. We can of course earn more money outside mylot. But that cannot be done continuously. Because we do get bored that. Lol. I am getting bored with Ciao also. Lol. The best paying site.
Still I do visit that site and rate my friend's review and look at the comments my reviews got. When I am in good mood I do write one also. Lol.
Mylot is the best in that ways. We never get bored. Anytime we can come here and spend our time happily. Lol.
Happy to have your response. Happy mylotting.

There are a lot of newbies here who seem to be posting questionaires instead of discussions. They just post in one line questions for which we can either answer in one word or one line. I do not see the purpose of these mylotters start just one line discussions. I generally tend to just ignore these.
@vidhyavini (6111)

Ya you are right. Just too much of questions which is tiresome to answer. Lol. If we start to ignore, then we can't actually post anything. The reason is the other good discussions are pushed back while these one line discussions are in the first. Lol.

Vidhyavini,
it always happens this way. This is what is called the learning curve. Don't the older generations always find fault with the younger generations? Everyone thinks that their days were different and their generation did so many thing s which the gresent deneratin does not do. don't desspair. gods in his heaven and all is well with the world. There willalways be newbies and older people will keep leaving. Remember you too were a newbie one day. you too may leave some day and people will miss you. The newbies will take time and learn. soon they will become the old experts here and start finding fault with the othr newbies. it is a cycle which repeats again and again. I was once regular in three blog sites i coudl nto pass a day without visiting it and writing or leving comments and now i hardly go there. it is all a cycle. Interests change. you find new interests and move on. you make new freinds and old friends depart. That is life. keep smiling.

Hi I have been here for two weeks,I try to do a mixture of discussions and replys .I have sent a message to mylot asking what is expected but no reply so far.On other sites you get a minimum of eighty words, and thats what I did,but on here it does not seem to make any difference if I do half a page or two lines I still get the same amount of interest, some people get fed up with reading a full page while others love a good read so what are we do.
@vidhyavini (6111)

24 Nov 08
Ya I do agree that full page of description will make others bored. And at the same time one line will get responses as a single line. And with that responses we don't earn anything.
5 to 7 lines description is reasonable. Every one will read that. Why not we try like that??? When we type more we will have more to ask and in response others will give a descriptive response also. In that way both can earn a reasonable amount.

If you want to know about the way to earn in mylot, have a look at my blog in my profile. Hope that helps you.
Posting single line discussions will not earn us anything. So try to be descriptive. Try to write atleast 5 sentences in every post that you make. All the best.
Happy mylotting.

I also think that mylot activities are reducing a bit. many old timers are not around. Plus it is also my observations that mainly the newcomers are posting more. they are welcome., but many are just starting any discussions as they think it can earn more

Ya you are right. They are probably wrong in their thoughts. You know what. Some are actually stubborn with that. They never mind even if we say that its against rules or whatever. They still continue their own way of posting.

I seldom start discussions so I don't have any means of tracking down how active people around here are these days. :) I sometimes disappear from the boards for days but I usually come back whenever I have some spare time. I use his place as a kind of breather from my busy schedule. Anyway, it's nice to have new people around.

Your avatar actually seems to be scary.
I don't think that must be the reason. Most of them are now earning in Ciao and some others may be busy with their own works as you said. But my discussion is about the new members who are just posting continuous discussions in single lines.

Yes, even I am a newbie, but I start the discussion only one per day... even I stopped from creating new discussion, I am just responding to the discussion to what my mail gets...... I don't know when I will start a discussion......
I see a person regularly creating nearly 100 discussion per day...... I don't know why he creates such a big amount of discussions... though he is not getting responses for some of the discussion....... I ask mylotties, create enough discussions, and respond unlimitedly........

Ya you are right. When they are creating so many discussions, they are not commenting back to the responses also. Thats really bad and that stops us from responding to that person's discussions also. Lol.
Let them create as many as discussions as possible. Its ok if they can actually manage it. Lol.

I just joined mylot, and I noticed that alot of the discussions seem to be posted by people that have no rating or numbers in parathensis. I know I started a couple of discussions, but that is because people told me to. So I do not know many of the older people. However, I did notice that my payout for each post went down. The other day I posted about 8 posts they were each about this long and I only got .08 cents for the whole thing! So that could be why people are not here as often. The first day I did one post and got .03.
@vidhyavini (6111)

No one here knows the exact way how Mylot is assigning the pay per post. You know what, in the beginning the earning will be little less only. When I was new I used to make 50 posts per day and my earnings will be around 40 cents only. I also create some new discussions. When days go on, we will make our discussions a quality ones and that will earn us more.
Try to concentrate on earning best responses and that will help you earn more. Earning is one reason of less activity from the seniors. But also the one line discussions pushes the other discussions down and even good discussions are not getting many responses. People just want to start new discussions rather than responding. Thats the problem.
