As Busters food bin gets low in stock I buy another bag adding it to thew other then mix them together. So he gets a variety of taste and brands this way. Well it seems he is not all that happy with it. Take a close look at the photo attatched. You can see inside Busters food dish is a variety of food. Yet on the floor is just one type of food. He takes a mouthfull of food, then spits out the one brand eating just the other brands. He will not eat the round food just the other ones. SO is your dog/cat a very fussy eater? Do they spit out things they dislike to get the others?

Ha ha ha had to laugh at that, sounds like your beloved Buster is spoilt rotten eh Grandpa Bob, and that is what our cat Meg is like she is a right madam! And yes she too is spoilt rotten, she gets the best, trouble is if it's a food she doesn't like she turns her nose up at it and looks at you as if to say 'Is that it?' well I ain't eating that muck! LOL! Animals are funny creatures aren't they and you can read their minds. And why do they always like the most expensive foods?

I justed wanted to add .....That l your glass bowl there in the picture...do you use it for water? If so you might want to recosider using something else. As that type and style of bowl sells at thrift stroes and such in my area around 20 bucks. I have a light blue one just like it.

As far as the water dish....
I have no idea why we bought a food dish and not a water dish as well.

That is so cute Grandpa Bob. My dog will eat almost anything but won't even touch lamb. If it's got any lamb in the dog food, she won't eat until we give her something else. (whe would rather eat her own poop) My cat likes dry cat food and has a certain kind he likes best. If we give him canned food, he will not touch it and he will keep following me and meowing until I give him dry food.

Buster is a huge lover of lamb.
Especailly real lamb meat etc.
My wife works at a Middele Eastern Restaraunt.
She brings home the scraps people leave from their leg of lamb dinners.
He loves those bones and spends hopurs chewing on them till there's nothing left at all. He goes nuts when we walk in and he smells it in the baggie.

Oh, thats so funny....Dogs can be picky eaters, I don't think my dogs are that picky, but they are a little picky. I know theres a certain brand of dog food that they won't eat, we've tried to feed it to them and they won't touch it, it was a cheaper brand, so we had to go back to the more expensive one. That is funny tho, how Buster spits out the ones he don't want....cute..

Yeah the ones he spits out are a generic brand as well.

Hi there Grandpa Bob. The 2 cats that i had in my place were never picky animals but the 4 cats my girlfriend has at her parents place are quite the pickers as they only eat cat food if it's mixed else the will only touch it if they are starving.

Well Buster is our garbage disposal actually.
He loves fruits and veggies also.
He is a funny eater.
I've never owned a dog or cat that loves veggies as much as Buster does.

Our Peek-a-poo, whose name was Trouble, was very fussy. He wouldn't eat dog food at all, only table scraps, whatever we were eating. I know, these days they say that's bad for pets but he lived to be 18! Anyway, there were a few things he absolutely didn't like and he'd push them onto the floor with his nose and eat the "good" stuff. When I made chili, he'd pick out the kidney beans. When I had anything like soup or stew, he threw out the carrots and lima beans. Other than that he'd lick his dish clean!

LOL That's so funny that your dog would do that. Our cat, Morgana, will eat just about any kind of dry cat food I put down for her except the really cheap stuff then she won't even go near it. Now with tuna, it has to be Starkist and it has to be in water or she won't touch it and she'll make you nuts till she gets it. Sometimes it's just like having a kid...

My dog has done that too! I don't remember which brand it was, but I know she was doing that for a while. She stopped doing it, so I must be buying the right kind now!

We always try to buy the same brand each time for the dog and the cat so they don't get an upset stomach. There have been times in the past where we did have to get something different when they were out of our kind and my cat is real fussy, she will not eat much until we get her brand. When I go visit my daughter or when she comes here we are in luck as we both get the same type of dog food so my dog and her dogs don't have to change foods.

I buy what I have a coupon for most times.
Or buy it from pet food stores auctions etc.
So he gets a wide variety.
He eats it all in time though.
He is not THAT fussy really.
Only if the foods are mixed together.
Just bought a 41 pound bag Sunday.
I am not putting that into the bin till this food is gone.
I hate dcleaning up the floor.

That pic makes me giggle.
Our indoor cat is finicky. When we run out of cat food we might give some dog food just in the interim. Our outdoor cat will eat it (after she waits a bit to make sure nothing better is coming). The indoor cat won't touch it. Period. She also prefers soft kitty treats vs. the crunchy kind (yes, she's a spoiled cat!)
The dog eats everything - except vegetables. LOL. We give her scraps and she'll scarf up anything (she's a labrador retriever) except veggies like carrots or beans.
Domestic birds will often do what Buster does, pick out what they like to eat and leave the rest. Some birds will literally "throw" what they don't like out of the cage - leaving quite a mess!

You'll love this shot then.
He was just waking up as I called him out from his dog house.
Buster loves tomatoes a lot and a few other veggies.

My cats are like that. If there is a little food left in the bowl and I open a new bag, maybe a different they will not eat the food. What gets me, is both of them won't eat, I think they have the same taste buds. There has not been a time, where one liked the food and the other didn't, I guess they take after me by being picky with my food

Bustr just spits it out right at the dish.
Then it's funny to watch him move around the
pieces on the floor as he tries to eat more.

He certainly knows which one he likes. My Mums dog does this also. She lines all these balls up in a row and hides them everywhere. It is quite clever of her though.
I think dogs have a right to dislike foods like ourselves also. She is not spoilt she is normal lol. Take care and speak soon Bob.

The omne he eats has 4 different flavors and is a quality brand is why.
The one on the floor is generic.
He does not like generics too much evidently.
I've stopped buying that brand.

yes my cats like that too, so I make them finish the bowl before they get new stuff. I find they eat it when there is nothing else.

Yes, I have bought some foods that they love and eat right away and others that they seem to just look at in disgust. I always make sure it says 100 per cent nutitionaly complete and if they dont like one then I dont buy it anymore. I think mine tend to ignore it after the first check if they dont lke it.

Buster sounds like my Meg. Meg was beyond picky. She would actually nose out the foods that she didn't like and then eat the ones she did. There would be this neat ring all the way around the bowl of the hated food pieces. Even if we stuck to just the Pedigree with the lamb and veggies, Meg would spit out the peas every time...even if it was fresh.

My cats are a bit fussy sometimes. They like the mushed up food that comes out of the tin to the chucks that come out of a tin. But the shop doesn't always have the real mushy stuff so I have to buy the chucky stuff. My motto to them is if you are hungry then you will eat it!! cruel mother that I am!!LOL
