Most filipinos are fond of eating and considering animal-blood as one of their favorites. I was wondering if some other people in other places also love to eat this kind of food which is loved mostly by filipino people. I dont know of any food nutrients would you get by eating out of this blood-food. Before, I really love this kind of food, i considered it as one of my favorites but as days gone bye i stopped cause I learned that against God's well aside from not knowing what food nutrients would i get out of it..How about you? Im sure you love it also with matching ripe mangoes..right?

i don't mind eating "dinuguan" or "betamax" or any delicacy with animal blood especially that my religion doesn't prohibit us eating food that contains animal blood. neither am i against for those who doesn't eat as i maintain equality same with respect for others. i'm really not particular as well with it's nutrients. i would consider it good food if it's cooked the way i like it. i haven't heard of it as a good match with ripe mangoes but "puto" is usually what they say good with it.

Well I do eat during my younger years as my parents love to cook it. I do not see anything wrong eating it except for health reasons. For those with health problems I suggest that they stop eating it. Well for those that have religious belief against it I respect your opinion regarding it.

I don't consider eating this kind of food. It's against our religion. And did you know that many illnesses comes from the blood of animals? So why eat this kind of food if we can harm our health? Not a good idea for me.

I have given up eating meat. However, I used to be a meat eater in the past. In Mangalore and Goa, Christians love eating pork. They have a special pork dish called "sorpotel." A bit of pork blood is always added to this dish. The idea of a dish comprising only blood sounds sickening to me though it might be a delicacy in some other country. Cheers and happy mylotting

we call it dugo-dugo (in visayan). loved it. =) most of us filipinos loved it. it's been a long time since i had that dish ever since we moved. i'm not sure if it's legal here in Australia. i've heard from a filipino here that's it's not legal here because of health issues.

although many filipinosa consider it as a good food for me it is not. It is a sign of life as stated in the Law of God so will obey his law than satisfying myself with this kind of foods. I admit that I eat this food before but now i abstain from eating it. Even I eat animal blood before but i didn't find it as tasty or nice to eat. I only force to eat that kind of foods when my dad bring me to his friends house. I am ashamed to refused.

I like to eat pork blood stew or commonly called in Tagalog as "dinuguan" especially if it's spicy and a bit sour too, like the pork blood stew of Goldilocks. Although some places and religions, considers it as taboo food or something that unclean food to eat. Though, it's wasn't my favorite food but I do like to eat it once in a while.

I have heard of this though I have not tried it ever. There are certain North eastern people in India who eat anything that moves, be it a bird or a rat or a dog. They even fry insects like the common grasshopper and eat it as a delicacy. They even eat monkeys. You may find adog tied in the house one day and it would have ben eatn the next day,

I no longer remember when was the last time I ate chicken blood but I really love that grilled square blood on stick because it is delicious. I think the last time was when I was in college about 5 years ago. Anyway I don't eat blood from animals now because I find more delicious foods to eat. I remember when I was in grade school, my great grandmother who used to kill chickens and cook "tinola" she always pour the fresh chicken blood into a bowl with uncooked rice. Then it becomes hard and dark. She mixes it to what she's cooking and the blood with cooked rice just like "pinipig" in ice creams becomes the most grabbed meal in "tinola." I, my aunt and my cousin will fight over each other because we all want the chicken blood in "tinola."

I wouldn't limit this question to only Filipinos. I'm half vietnamese and when I goto the market they also sell it there. I've personally never tried it and my father doesn't really buy it. But if you think about it, it's not too far off from cooking a piece of beef which is red from blood. Just earlier, I was making spring rolls and as I was cooking the beef I was watching how the blood would come out from it as it was being fried. I don't think of the blood itself as 'food' but I don't really see something 'wrong' about eating it. I do love mangoes, though =D My favorite fruit.

I am a Filipino. BEfore I ate what we call "dinuguan". But when I saw the raw blood in the market with flies flying around. I did not eat anymore. Aside from no nutrient we might get other infections.

well i love this local delicacy in our country. but since i am on a diet i try to avoid this viand with pig's blood on it. i have not heard though of any infection that we might get from eating this food with pig's blood. since i believe that cooking them thoroughly will kill all the bacteria and the harmful effects of the blood and will make it safe for us to eat them. but still i don't eat them often. i can't remember when was the last time that i ate dinuguan.

I really don't mind eating animal blood since it's part of culture not only here but also in other countries. In Germany if I'm not mistaken there is such a thing as blood sausages. I don't think dinuguan goes well with ripe mangoes rather it goes well with rice cakes.

I used to eat "blood stew" (pork "dinuguan") but that was ages ago. I stopped eating it for health reasons. Anyway, the blood is rich in protein, glucose, iron and protein (i.e., haemoglobin which gives its red color), water and other minerals. Ever wondered where do the lice, mites, ticks, mosquitoes, vampire bats (including Dracula..heheh) got their nourishment and sustenance? So, blood itself is "nutritious". You can't live without it (heheh...but that's literally speaking). As for the religious aspect of not eating blood, it is implied in the old testament but I think it no longer applies to the current Christian theology.

we called it dinuguan a favorite food of Filipinos with matching puto or rice cake. Some other religions are not eating this kind of foods because of the laws they obey from their beliefs. But for us catholic there is no bad foods to eat. Every thing that is safe to eat is not bad. If we are about to follow the rules according to medicines many of our daily foods have more bacterias. Even the air we breath consist of those bacterias. If we talk about the safety of our health about foods I think many are being hungry. This is what I thought.

I don't think I can consider blood as a good food. But I eat blood-food also. I think blood does not contain nutrients for our body. I do not each much this kind of foods.
