Do you think guy and girl can be best of friends?

I used to have a lot of close female friends even though many of my guy friends told me it's impossible not to fall in love with any of the girls especially if they're pretty. Most people think that way, but I beg to differ. I feel that there are people who you can only be best of friends with...and that's it. There's a fine line which both of you will never cross. True, you might develop feelings for each other, but you should know that it's impossible to go beyond best friends.
But now that I'm in my late 20s...I find that it's no longer that easy to have close friends from the opposite gender. Most people have their own families or boyfriend/girlfriend. And some of their partners tend to be the jealousy type. It's not easy to retain that kind of close friendship anymore.

Hi daydreamer,
Yes, i firmly believe that it is STILL possible for a guy and a girl to still be the best of friends.If both of them are not narrow minded and welcome the idea of being affiliated romantically to another other than themselves, then yes, the friendship still works. i still believe in Platonic relationship.

Yeap, I do believe in that too but sometimes, reality hits us hard. Still good friends, but not as close as before due to family and stuff. Their partners might not be happy, you know?

hi there!!i have so many close friends, and i have two boys whom i consider my bestfriends, so i think its not impossible to be bestfriend with guys!!but yeah its not also imposible to fall inlove with them, the one im talking to you happens to be my bestfriend since childhood, even since birth,lol!!actually we are cousins, but sometimes when we are alone with each other we are really imagining what if we are not cousins??is there a possible that we would be lovers cause we really know each other so much, actually my boyfriend got jealous of him and so with his girlfriend, we are really close that we can talk like the whole day with nonsense things but still have something to talk about!!happy lotting...

i dont think so!!on my part, even before i enter into a relationship i always say to it to introduce my friends that they are special to me also, and as long as i do spend time for my boyfriend then i dont think he would or should complain!!anyways we are cousins!!i remember one time it was during my college days when my boyfriend that time wants me to chose between him and my friends for 20 years...i chose my friend!!!wahahahah

Better make sure your boyfriend is not those extreme jealousy type. It'll be quite a headache if he is.

When your boyfriend or his girlfriend complains, don't you think that sometimes it's better to stay away from each other for a while ?

I do have a lot of female friends and they used to be quite close with me. But now, they're more with their partners and families. Girls tend to be more family or partner oriented than guys. I think this has nothing to do with sexually active or not. :) I didn't even mention about those in my previous description.

Why not ?
in my country boys and girls become the best friend rathan than the smae sexes. And i think it also be common in most of the other countries. there is no denying that some people may think of have ? with a girl , expecially a pretty one, but not all the people in the world doing like that. So,if possible, why not become good friends between boys and girls.

What if both of you are single at the age of 30? :) Will you change your mind? Or you think you are still able to keep it as "good friends"?
