How to use body butter?

I know this is sounds so stupid. But I had to ask, coz I really don't know how to use body butter. I never buy any, but my friend five me a pack of body butter. They smells really good (fruity) but, I don't know how to use them. And I can't ask my friend about it. It's kinda... well she's the one who give it to me. And the reast of my friend, I guess I'm shy to ask...
So I ask myloters. How to use body butter?
Is it same like body lotion?
Or after you apply it on your skin you have to wash it.
I think the second one, coz I kinda feel itchy after apply it on my skin and not wash it. Or is it only because my skin alergic to it?
help me?

I would like to know this as well, I have seen a lot of it around in the shops amongst the Christmas items, I was tempted to buy a couple as presents but I am the same as you i am not sure how it is used so maybe i will find out today...hopefully.

i am a body butter user. the only brand i use is The Body Shop and all their body butters smell really yummy.
anyway, you apply it on your body just like how you apply lotion. you do not wash it off. it is best if you smooth it over your arms, legs and body while your skin is still damp from bathing/shower. it is a little bit greasy but just massage it onto skin until dry. i love body butter. i never get dry skin anymore.
if you continue feeling itchy though, just discontinue using it. maybe you are allergic to one of its ingredients.

me too my boyfrend brother gave me a set's of body shop contain soap,shower gel,body scrub and body butter,in pink grapefruit flavor, smell's good....all of these i know how to use it except the body butter so i researched it how to use.? Now with your comment and experienced I found it from now on i can use my body butter everyday all over my body i hope it is effective to my skin..

A body butter is also a lotion except that, body butter should be applied in a minimum amount because it become sticky in your skin. Try to apply few amounts all over your body, evenly spread it using your palm.
