As everyone knows, either fast walk or slow walk does good to muscles and lungs of human. So people walk to build up their body,or to lose weight. But only of us know that taking a walk everyday is also good for protecting man's heart.
You can have an enjoyment while walking. But most people drive car or take bus to work, they almost have no exercise everyday. If you want to keep health, you should do more exercise.

Admittedly, I don't have and never had an exercise program because I'm quite lazy with exercise activities. My spouse would even encourage me to go jogging in the morning or accompany him doing some sit-ups in the comfort of our home. But I'll just tell him, "... it's so tiring." without even trying to lift a finger.
Maybe it's just my personality that I'm not inclined to doing some exercise, except brisk walking which I do on an average of two to four days each week. Usually, I get to do this in the morning when I'm off to our workplace; particularly if I could go out of the house on or before the clock strikes eight because I have to be in the office by 8:30 am. I take a cheaper mode of public transportation, and briskly walk my way to work with the remaining hundred meters to a kilometer.
Personally, I feel that it's like 'hitting two birds with one stone'; because aside from the exercise I get, I also tend to save as much as fifteen pesos or approximately thirty cents in dollars.

I guess I'll stick to this 'brisk-walking' exercise which I get to quite enjoy and is easy and natural to do until I could find extra time and funds to engage myself in other worthwhile exercise activities.

Well, good to know this. Thanks for providing this information.I always like walking, especially after meals.I'll take every possible chance to walk in stead of sitting.

Walking, whether brisk or normal, is good for our health. As much as possible, I take the stairs when I just need to go somewhere two or three floors away. I believe that the little efforts we do will account for big benefits in the future. I think walking is a very simple way to make your heart stronger one step at a time--of course that is coupled with a healthy diet and non-sedentary lifestyle. I like the way Johnny Walker puts it: "Keep Walking..."

Walking is very important. One needs to walk like 30 minutes to 1 hour everyday in order to remain healthy. You don't need to run or jog because that might hurt your knees if you're not fit or not careful. Walking doesn't give too much pressure to your body and it's very healthy for your heart.

Oh I wish I wasn't so lazy. We have a treadmill that we recently got and I need to get on it and walk and burn so calories so I can lose some weight. It's just easier said then done. But it is true the more excercise we do the younger our bodies can stay & we are in much better shape & health.

Hi there simon611
I do like to walk but it seems to rain a lot in the UK and so I drive my kids to school a lot because it is not nice for them to get to school all wet. Usually I will walk to pick them up from school even if it is raining because as soon as they get home they can get changed and also it is not easy to park near the schools and people hold traffic up in their cars too.

As you get older you cannot do the hockey and football as it is too strenuous and you get sore muscles and out of breath. Walking however is always a good exercise as it gets the oxygen in and out of your lungs and keeps your legs and hips working. Sitting around does nobody any good. Even a ten minute walk is good for you although longer would be better. I would like to get a treadmill so I can have a walk when it is raining outside or snowing.

You are right. It is better to take a walk in the morning or after supper.
But it is hard for me to go on. You see, my whole day work is staying in the office, I feel tired after one-day-work, I don't wanna to do anything. But my hearth is getter worser and worser, so now I try to do it. Just for my health, maybe it will bring me some surprises for my job. Hehe...

Walking a lot in the morning or after supper is very good for us to keep health.I share your opinions, most people work in the office for a whole day,so it is really difficult for them to take some time to walk or other exercise. But I think if you have time ,you should do this.
Thank you for sharing.

Doing sports is also good to people's health. A healthy life depends on doing exercise as fish can not live without water. Talking a walk is very useful, i very agree with you, that is why so many people like walking in the park every evening. It can keep a good mood everyday, and keep us from the busy work from the daily life.

I love to walk and I know it's good for me, so I don't know why I don't do more. Trouble is, I only have to walk six steps from my bed and I'm in my office which is the next room. Unless I force myself to stop working and leave the house, the only walking I do is up and down the stairs, fetching drinks and making meals, etc. I've got my finger in so many internet pies, that I could spend 20 hours a day in front of my computer.
Think I'll stop posting now and go for a walk.

Walking is still the best exercise, I do walk everyday for 5 minutes but i know it is not enough for they say at least 10,000 step a day to have a healthy body. I think it requires an hour of walking to stay fit and healthy. Well i guess i need to do it now for i feel so weak and i am gettung bigger nowaday. I need to have an exercise.

Walking is the best treatment for many diseases. Early morning walk has its own benefits as you can inhale fresh air at that time. You can avoid diabetes, high blood pressure and heart diseases totally if you start walking in your young age. Even if you are a person who is suffering from these diseases you can control them with proper walking. Enjoy the healthy life with regular walking.

I totally agree with you.walking is the best form of exercise and the faster you walk the better for your health.I walk a lot every day, when i go to buy veggies and other stuff for the house and in the evenings i go for a long walk.In fact you make many walking friends who are all there everyday walking the same routes as you...In fact i feel that i have missed something very important when i am unable to go for my usual walk in the evening due to some unforeseen circumstances:)

Yes I definitely agree. Walking works out the legs and strengthens the lungs. I am very fond of walking when I had been younger, but right now I rarely take a walk outside because of work. However, I make up for it by walking up and down the stairs at home. Cheers~

This is very true but some people like me are just lazy some times. I do ride my bike 2 miles to work in the summer. In the winter its kind of hard so we try to hit the gym but not as much as I like. But then again I only have myself to blame for any weight gain that's occured. Problem is motivation grrr I just want one of those moments where I say 'screw it' ( you know). Heres to hoping it will happen soon.

everyone walks. it doesnt matter how far or what time of day you do it. everyone does it. now i think that a good exercise is jogging. if the average person jogged every two days, they would be in tiptop shape. i know this from X-country. for me, my body became so use to walking that it does almost nothing for me. but a quick 3-5 mile jog always keeps me in shape. Still, our world today has ben so infatuated with new tech, that the average person could do everything for a days work right on his comp.
