Well, when I first switch on my computer and click on firefox and open it, it opens very slowly. After that it opens quickly. Similarly, when I close all existing firefox and re-start firefox it takes time to open. Whereas in case, if I already have 1 or more firefox opened in my taskbar, it doesn't take much time to open a new firefox if I click on the firefox icon. Why this thing happens guys? Why firefox takes time when I try to open it for the first time or when I close all firefox windows and open a new one?

Hello VinceMcMahon! I am a programmer and I pretty well understand why those Firefox developers want to design Firefox that way. This does not only apply to Firefox but to other latest applications as well. I'll try to explain this in simpler terms. When your computer is newly switched on, Firefox is not loaded into your computer's memory. When you decide to run Firefox, it will load the browser plus all the necessary add-ins (plugins, themes, extensions, etc). This would surely consume an amount of time. When you try to open another tab with the Firefox running already, it would not take much time. In fact, the appearance of the new tab is immediate. This is because those Firefox developers had designed it in a way that it will not load another set of add-ins unlike the first instance when you tried to open the browser.

Ya, it's quite slow when you open it for the first time. After that, it will become faster. I guess it takes time to load the features and stuffs. I love using Mozilla Firefox as I find it more convenient and pleasant than Internet Explorer.

You mean when you open it up from your desktop? I notice that it does take a while to do that. I have had some problems once before like this. But, my husband fixed this. He did not tell me how, but he fixed it to where it is not taking forever in loading up. I think that I had too many files on my computer that I was not using to cause this to happen. I think that you may have the same problem, but I cannot be to sure. But, I know that it is doing better as to loading up. But, if I open one firefox, then open up another, it will not take so long when I open up one when I am on the Internet.

i think it's normal for it to take longer to open up when you first on your computer. the same goes with other applications too. lets say i open a game. the first time i open it it takes quite some time. but after that, if the game happens to crash and i re-open it again, it takes much faster to start. however, i find that on my laptop, the IE lags my computer A LOT. i think it's because it has a lot of different functions. so each time it opens, all the functions have to load

That is normal when you are starting up because your system is still scanning programs of your computer. That is more slower especially when you have so many programs. Take time. Do not rush. One way to make it faster, remove programs that are unnecessary. Do not just delete them. Use uninstall or the add/remove programs.

Yeah...I guess all the computers respond like that for me you and for all. It is because when you try to open the firefox for the first time there are a lot of other applications like antivirus and other system programs working in the background. So when you open the firefox along with these, it is for sure that it will be a bit slow.
