On Thursday my husband surprised me with a brand new six and half foot tree!
He threw our old one out last year because it was really old and really small and he was just so tired of it so he pitched it and then I was upset because I thought we would have no tree this year!
My Hubby found them for %40 off and so got a really good deal and then I went out and got lights and a few more decorations for %30 off! We are not going to have any gifts this year so this is our gift and I am so happy!!!
So what have you been surprised with recently?
Has anyone or anything made you particularly happy lately?
Are you all decorated for the holidays?
My tree is up and the star is atop with the lights...I'll likely decorate it tomorrow or slowly through out the week! I am so happy with my lovely tree!
*Doing a happy dance*
Perhaps I may have caught a little Christmas Spirit with this....
I certainly do love and appreciate my Hubby as he knew how important a tree was to me!

That's sounds fun! We had our fresh Christmas tree last black Friday also. Though it was not a surprise for me because my husband and I were the one got that. Then we bought some decorations for the tree. It was not fully decorated though. There's no surprises for me recently but there's no reason at all for me not to be happy everyday. It is because my husband tried to give things that I wanted for.My happiness is his too.

That is a really nice surprise, and that is a huge tree it will look lovely when you have decorated it. will you be putting a picture on I would love to see it? I bought a new tree this year too, dont laugh it is a 3ft one! Last year I had a 5ft tree, I know it was 5ft because it is the same size as me! It was a fibre optic one but something went wrong with it and it made the most awful noise when the lights were switched on so it needed to be binned. I bought a tiny one because we just do not have the room in the living room for a big one and with three tearaways on the loose it is just not appropriate!

It really was a nice surprise and is the tallest tree we have ever owned! I am so happy with it! Our old tree used to be my Grandmas and so was very old and likely around four to five feet tall so very short...My husband never liked it I think that is why he finally went and threw it out last year but then this year the way our finances are I felt for sure we would not be having one but then he found this one on sale so I was thrilled and it is nice to own a brand new tree that will last us for the next eight to ten years I am hoping anyway! Really, in all actuality it doesn't take up that much space...We have a very small apartment and it works fine here I am so happy that it does and is in my living room where we can sit on the couch and enjoy it
I am happy for you and your new tree also! As long as you are happy with it that is all that matters...Even if it is three feet...I would love to see a picture of it sometime...Many want to see a picture of mine and I will be posting that as soon as I can early this week...Perhaps you could post yours when I post mine...I can't wait to see it! I am sure it is very beautiful!

Most definitely Jill!
I know that you will enjoy the company of your daughter this Christmas!
So happy for you
I'd love to see a picture of your tree when it is done...
WE can swap pictures if you like...I still have some things left to put on mine and may be two or three more days but would be happy to share my tree with you if you will share yours with me...I've never seen a snowman tree before and love all the different themes or color schemes that people have!
Have a Very Merry Christmas with your daughter this year!

Thanks Carmela I am so happy as it will be my only gift this year with virtually no money....I was so thinking that since we threw our old one out last year that we would not have a tree at all this year and so it was a wonderful surprise for sure!
I shall take a picture of it as soon as it is all decorated which might take me a few more days as I have so much do along with alot of hours at work this coming week but I will share it when I can!

Great and congratulations. Now you are back in the Christmas spirit that is all that matters. You can just be thankful for the things that you do have and that is the tree you might get another surprise for Christmas some gifts after all under the tree. Hubby might surprise you again.

Thanks Chevee but I hope he does not as we literally have no money!
We are asking for only money from people at Christmas this year as we desperately need it for our son's high therapy costs...This tree is my gift this year and definitely all that I need....That and Therapy for my son to continue!

That was so sweet of him. I am making many of my gifts this year. I have made purses and will make candy and do what I can do. I think thats the sweetest thing that he did that for you. I love decorating Christmas trees, and I think its precious that he did that. Budgets are tight but love is powerful and that is inspirational.

I feel very blessed this Christmas!
I actually finished decorating the tree yesterday...I got started and just couldn't stop until I was done....
We both enjoyed it last night and our boy really liked it when I was done to!

Hi heavens,
Well, you've sure surprised me with this discussion. I know we didn't actually talk this past week, so I had no idea about this. Your husband 'excels' at these types of surprises, and I know this from firsthand experience. It seems he loves to do this sort of thing, and 'I'm sure' he's made others very happy with huge surprises, other years at Christmas. Please give him a big hug, and tell him it's from 'me,' for giving you (and his son) this wonderful gift.
I am just so thrilled for all of you! I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your lovely tree. I'm so happy to hear of your son's excitement too. This discussion has already made me quite emotional. I can't seem to help myself.
"Has anyone or anything made you particularly happy lately?"
Why yes, in fact it has. This topic has made me extremely happy. I also have a good friend 'here' who designed my holiday avatar for me. Such a thoughtful thing for her to do. Our online friends really are the best, and nobody can convince me otherwise.
We started to decorate last night. 'Mr. Humble' is standing, and the lights and star are in place, so far. We'll do some more tomorrow, and throughout the week, as you are going to do.
Big Hugs to you.

Hi Mom! I guess I didn't tell you about my Husband throwing the tree out last year...Or if I did you have forgotten which is not surprising the way this year has gone!
I really didn't want you to know that I was not going to have a tree at all but I did hint it when you were talking about Mr.Humble in another topic however I knew by your response that you did not catch on! I just felt with our finances that we could not afford to buy one and so would not be having one at all until my Hubby surprised me!
He does seem to be particularly good at this type of thing...Do you remember the Saxophone he bought me our very first Christmas!?!?! I also remember a time when I came home from work to my apartment and there were Roses on my kitchen table and him hiding in the dark...Such good memories he tends to make for me!!! I am such a blessed woman in many ways and I am becoming to realize this more and more these days!
I am so glad that my topic here has made you so happy it actually has done that for me too! I noticed your avatar and thought it was lovely so happy for you there too!
As soon as it is decorated I will be sharing it with everyone!
I put some decorations on last night before bed and now my son has clumped them all together at the front of the tree so I have to start all over! I have had the talk with the little lad and it is my hopes we can get a lovely picture soon!
Love and Hugs

That was so sweet of your hubby! I am so glad to hear from someone who has such a good relationship. Not only that, but a lot of times men just leave these things up to the women to take care of, and those Christmas tree boxes are not light. LOL
I surprised my mom when I was up to her house a couple of weeks ago. She was gone to run some errands and when she came home I had her Christmas tree all decorated. She wasn't looking forward to it at all so I told her I may get around to it while I was there. It didn't take me long at all. And she loved the color scheme that I used.
Thanks for starting this discussion, and happy holidays to you!

Thanks so much for stopping by kykidd!
This tree is extra special to me this year because we have absolutely no extra money for anything this year...No gift giving unless I do crafts or baking and so I was afraid I would not have a tree this year due to the fact that we threw our old one out last year and had not yet purchased another one and now with no money...I just thought we wouldn't be having one at all! My son's therapy takes up all our money and so we are asking for money for Christmas and are not getting gifts for each other this year...My Husbands gift to us is this tree and I am so thankful! Gives me a place to put the few small things for my son under on Christmas Eve so that I can see his eyes light up on Christmas Morning! He is already so excited to have it up in the livingroom with the lights on it...Christmas is for Children and I am definitely so thankful to my Husband for finding this tree at a good price for us to enjoy for many years to come as well!
Have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy My Lotting Also!

That's great! Congratulations. I got a new tree this year too but I got it at a rummage sale. Actually I got it to try to salvage the pine to make a giant wreath for the side of the house. But after I got it home it was beautiful so I just kept it! LOL
So yes my tree is up and decorated all for $20.00! I don't have a wreath but I have a new tree!
Happy Mylotting

That is so sweet of him! I'm glad it made you so happy. Don't you love surprises out of the blue?!
We are not all decorated for the holidays but when I was visiting my mom for THanksgiving she was getting the tree ready for us to decorate :) So next weekend when I visit i'll be able to put Christmas ornaments up. My dad was doing some lights outside so i'll get to see those soon too! I wish I were still younger and around for all the decorating, but it's still nice to be able to come home and see it.
