Have you ever eaten or drank something that made you throw up and since then you never had it again ever. For me it was yams. My first thanksgiving when i was 16 and celebrated with an american family was still in germany then. I didn't know what it was and ate it anyway, i didn't like it but ate it anyway. Couple hours later i got so sick and threw up big time. That was the last time i ate yams. Luckily my boyfriend don't like them either so we don't have to worry about it on the holidays.

I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't get sick from eating on the holidays :) I never really had yams though in Canada we usually just have a turkey or a ham ^^

Sweet potatoes are delicious. My oldest grandson could eat an entire sweet potato pie! We love them any way they are fixed. I wonder if it was just the way they were fixed that made you sick rather than the potato itself.

Well, I've eaten something and made me throw up. It's a kind of preserved food cooked with pork, I don't know why everyone eating it was fine, except me. I stopped eating it for quite a long time, and eventually I still eat it.

I don't remember if it was a cause and effect thing. When I was little, I would sometimes drink orange juice, sometimes grapejuice. One day I had grape juice and threw that up and have never had it since. I was probably younger than 10.

No. That is something I used to like when I was younger but got tired of. It's like I said, I my feeling is, it didn't have anything to do with grapejuice, I was probably sick and that's what I had and that's what I threw up. It's jjust that when I think of grape juice, it reminds me of that.

I had green tea for the first time a few years ago, and it made me so sick. I was dieting at the time, and had read that it was a good thing to drink to aid the metabolism. Well, it didn't work for me. I felt ill after drinking it, but didn't think a lot of it. A while later I had a blinding headache, then was sick for hours. I was never sure if it was the green tea, until I had a bottle of water a few months ago, that contained green tea extract. That had the exact same effect, so I think I can safely say that green tea is not something I should be drinking!

I used to go for western food quite often about many, many years ago. As side order, as usual fresh rock osyter for the start. It was OK for a couple of times, then one fine night quite immediately after dinner, on the way home, I had to throw out. It was my 1st time, not knowing the cause. Took fresh osyter again some months later, again my sick stomach made me suffered the same fate of throwing out. Since then, never I will eat fresh rock osyter again.

Yes when I was little my family and me would travel a lot and when your on the road you cant always eat right, so one day while on a long road trip we all get hungry and we decided stopped at this burger place, and we got a deal on burgers we were really hungry so we ate the burgers without thinking twice, and the next day me and my whole family were sick with some kind of food poisoning it was awful we couldn't eat anything for days cause we couldn't keep anything down we were sick for almost 3 weeks. but thankfully we all finally got better, but now I'm much more careful about what I eat because I never want to get sick like that again if I can help it.

Just before Christmas 2001 I ate pork pie and wound up not just sick but very ill with food poisoning. I was so sick I lost 11 pounds in 5 days and my husband cooked his own Christmas dinner that year. I take a long hard look at pork pie these days and have rarely eaten any since that time. As for yams - I love them and for both Thanksgiving and Christmas we have what we call candied yams and we all think they are delicious.

Yes I have. Red chile. My husband is Mexican. His whole family loves the stuff but I can't stand it. I tried to eat it the first time and like you, it all came rushing back out! Yuck!

For me its egg salad sandwiches. When I was a chid my aunt would not let me go out to play till I had finished my lunch. She was very forceful about it and made me sit there for a long time. I was crying that I didnt like the sandwich and that I was not hungry anymore. She still made me eat the whole thing. Needless to say I never did get to go out and play instead I was in the bathroom vomiting up the sandwich I was forced to eat. Something about eggs and mayo mixed together that does not agree with me. I have never eaten one since. The funny thing is my hubby loves egg salad sandwiches. He knows to never make them when I am home.

canned sardines makes me throw up when i ate it directly from the can but if it will be cooked with onions and garlic i can take it. i think the smell of the tin that stick to the sardines is the one that made me throw up.

I absolutely love eating watermelon but it makes me so sick. If it's really good watermelon & it's salted I eat it anyway and just get sick later. It's kinda pathetic lol.

When I was a kid I always seemed to get sick off of Corned Beef. Probably because it is sooooo fatty. But I have eaten it just once a yr on St. Pat's and I have very little, I like it but I don't want to chance it upsetting my tummy too much beyond what a Tums can cure ;)

I can name 2 things off the tip of my brain. I hate liver, but I seemed to love it when I was about 4 years old because I ate anything and everything my dad ate at the time, but now I hate it with a passion and the last time I tried to eat it, it came back up and hit the floor. Another thing I can't keep down to save my precious life is butter milk "YUCK." This yucky crap makes my tummy turn everytime I think about it. YUCK.

For me it's whipped cream frosting - the rich, thick, sweet whipped cream that they use to ice birthday cakes. When I was seven, we celebrated my brother's birthday at a fancy restaurant and my mother ordered off the adult menu for us. I had prime rib and potatoes, and very likely didn't chew the meat all that well. After dinner, we had birthday cake with whipped cream frosting, which went into my little tummy on top of all the rest of the way-too-rich food. Half an hour later, it all came back up... my mother always said it probably had nothing to do with the whipped cream, just too much rich food that my stomach wasn't used to having, but to this day, I can't eat whipped cream frosting. It just makes me retch.

For some reason, black licorice - not the fake stuff (like Twizzlers), I mean ACTUAL black licorice. Anything with a lot of anise in it, for some reason, makes me sick to my stomach. Even just the smell makes me gag. I can't recall any really bad memories linked to it, so I have no idea why even just the smell makes me feel sick!

Yeah, I remember being that sick many times in my life. I had visited this one restaurant in another country and had ended up getting sick everyday on while i was in that country. What i had eatin was pizza from a pizza hut restaurant but there pizza in that country was really different. I thought it would still be good because it's pizza but boy was i wrong. I was so sick i had thrown up and possibly passed out everytime i tried to leave my house over there. It was a good thing my family was with me so they took good care of me and made sure that i would be alright. I felt really glad i had them, but on the other had really stupid i hate that pizza because they had all the fun while i was at home. It's a good thing that never and happened to me again and i hope that never happens to me. I still feel a little sick everytime i eat pizza but it goes away after a while and i just think of something else. I'm making sure i don't get sick on the holidays because i get the feeling were going to go somewhere again for the holidays. I hope it's not outside of the United States though.
