during the holidays? I don't eat or make alot of snacks for myself so I totally enjoy going to the family Christmas and pigging out on things like Puppy Chow....and Chex mix. I also love seven layer bars and sour cream raisin bars that my nieces make. So what is your favorite treat during the holidays? Something you make or something someone elses brings to your holiday gatherings?

I have never found it in a cook book. I alway's had to call my grandma or later my Mom. Who didn't like it as it has rasins in it. So if you can't find it I will see if I can find mine or call my Mom again. Have a nice day. Your friend onlydia

My daughter loves to bake during the holiday season and to give people tins of homemade cookies and other goodies. I'm not that into it but I help her and I have to say that her homemade cookies are my favorite treats. We always make chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies but every year she chooses a different variety of snack bars and other tasty things to bake.

I enjoy homemade raisin cinnamon bread fresh from the oven. The smell of my house is really welcoming. You don't even need any margarine. I'm hungry now.

Right now if I think of something to eat I have to have it right now I aint gona wait till no Christmas :))))) Because I dont eat much if something pops in my mind my servents (husband, father, mother and sister) have to get it. Thats our family joke. If enyone wants something all they have to do is say it infront of me and someone will have to make it. But I am looking forward to my fav cake that I make for christmas its called egg cake (as it looks like fried egg) with apricots, and also my mothers garlic and walnats desert but I might mention that to her as she makes it for my fathers name day 15 january and I cant wait that long.

Hi Jill, I love ALL food, yummy but my favourite at Christmastime is in fact a drink. I always treat myself to a bottle of Baileys for Christmas and I will drink a glass of that whilst making the dinner. Food wise, I like the picky bits after the main meal like the cold meats and pickles but have no real favourite food thing at all, just my tipple he, he. Huggles. Ellie :D

Umm, did you mean to write puppy chow? My first reaction was to laugh hysterically and then realized maybe there is such a treat for humans. Not too bright in the cooking or baking department on my end..lol Think my all time favorite to be a pig about is pumpkin pie and whipped cream. Only ate one slice the other night but I can do more if I have the mindset and space left in my tummy.

I like the homemade fudges. I know its not good for you and I dont do it all the time. Its so good and I look forward it to it. Sometimes, I crave things that are rich and this year, to tell the truth, I am craving Bourbon balls so badly and I dont know why. I dont drink hardly ever and dont care much for hard drink , but I am craving bourbon Balls.

Yes, I always looked forward to my cousin's peanut butter fudge. She always made it at Christmas and every year I would overindulge in it!
We have moved out of state now for 10 years so I have missed having her fudge every year at Christmas. So, last year I called her up and asked her for the recipe and she gave it to me on the grounds that I never give out the recipe.
I cooked it up last year for Christmas and my children instantly fell in love with it the way I did all those Christmasses ago. I am so happy this is a family tradition that I can share with my children and hopefully they can pass on down to their children as well.
I plan on making some in the next couple of weeks - just in time for Christmas!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

We always have this home made cake that we all make. We eat it the Christmas eve. I’m looking forward to that. We only make it during the Holidays and we’re all looking forward to making it.
Most of the time, I do it myself for everybody. But my mother does all the buying. Hehehe..

My favorite thing during the holidays is the turkey & stuffing. Those are what i go for. Sometimes i don't even have dessert because i eat so much of the real food i have no room left for the sweets.
I do bake cakes a lot @ home though. My favorite is chocolate!

For the holiday season, I am planning to cook a very special bake ham soak in a pineapple juice basting with sugar and honey. I love it and it is always during christams season that I got a chance to prepare this special menu for my family. I also plan to bake homemade macaroni with white sauce.

There is an absolutely delectable candy that used to be a tradition for us - but now I can scarcely afford to buy them. They are made in one place only - Rome New York at Nora's Candy Land shoppe. They are called turkey joints for their funny look. The shipping costs now make this a treat for the memory only.

I don't really get into eating the sweets all that much. I am more for making them! My favorite thing about holidays is the appetizers. All those fattening dips and things. I live for the appetizers. Lots of cream cheese will be consumed by me on Christmas for sure!

My favorite treat to eat during the holidays is pumpkin pie, and any kind of apple pie. I also love to eat chocolates. During the course of the holiday meal, I love mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. They're even good after the holidays. I just warm them up and add a little bit of butter. I love them.
