Do You Eat While In Front of the Computer?

i do. i generally eat my breakfast in front of the computer and also my lunch and sometimes a snack mid morning when i am at work. i have spilled a few things on my mouse and keyboard, but fortunately, it hasnt been too much and no damage was caused.

I used to snack every night while on the computer. I would bring in a bag of M&M's or chips or whatever I could find in the house. I soon realized this was the culprit of why I was gaining weight slowly but steadily. The snacking is out the door now. You are so right about the spills! It is easy to damage a keyboard or more.

I used to eat in front of my computer before. Before my keyboard used to be filled with food particles and the keys used to get stuck. Now a days I do not eat any snacks in front of my computer. I think it is okay to take any juices or tea or coffee until one does not spill it.

Nop. Never done that. Personally it is about time management, isn't it? We all have 24 hours - 8 hours (for sleep). I mean, in 16 hours free time I can manage 45 minutes (yup breakfast 15 minutes, lunch 15 minutes and dinner 15 minutes) without any trouble. Please, consider to rearrange your time table...

Yes i do eat infront of the computer and infact i am eating right now. I am having my brunch today for i feel very hungry already. I also drink in front of the computer for i like to spend more time in here. Happy mylotting.

I must admit I am the one with peanut butter keys. Seriously, I do spend a lot of time in front of my pc and yes I do eat in front of it but I am usually very careful. There were a couple of accidents that caused me to have to replace one keyboard (the dropping of the mashed potatoes) and one mouse (the can of coke that was knocked over by my niece). Other than that I have not had too many problems.

Yes I do... I always found it interesting how tech people will tell you it's just common sense not to eat or drink while you're on the computer, then they'll put down their coffee cup, turn back toward their PC and resume typing. Personally I haven't had a food+computer related accident since I was about 6, so I'm not worried much about it anymore and don't think about it. I am more careful I've found with new computers though, and with computers that belong to other people because I know I'd look like a complete idiot if I spilled coke on somebody else's PC. Good question :).

Hi There! I am guilty as charged! Because every time I am in front of the PC (especially when I am in the office and I am in graveyard shift), I have a yogurt, chips and a soda in my desk. I just can't help it especially when my task for that day doesn't require talking. But even if I am eating in my desk while working, I am very very careful because I don't want to be a mess to everyone and to my poor computer. hehehe Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

that is one of the few places that i don't eat. i never wanted to get into the habit of doing that, especially drinking, so that nothing would spill on my computer and ruin it. it is not like i have the money to just run out and replace things when they break down. so i am very careful not to do that. i do not allow anyone else to eat or drink while on my computer either. it is just a good habit i think.

No. Not at all. But till one month back i used to eat in front of the television. This habbit started when i was studying in 8th standardard. My mother used to serve the food when good television serials start to save our study time. It became the habit and it continued for almost 20 years. It stopped one month when i listened swam sandeep chaitanya explaining about this type of habits. Then i realized it is a bad habit and stopped.

I'll eat or drink anything in front of a computer - I guess it's just a bad habit I managed to pick up on. I don't plan on changing it though, I enjoy it too much. It's been going on for about eight years, and so far there's only been one incident where a cup of water spilt on the keyboard. I wasn't even using the computer when that happened. But on the plus side it gave me a chance to buy a shiny new keyboard.

I do both while in front of my desktop. I know it could be a hazard but I am willing to take that chance to quench my hunger/thirst.

sometimes i do eat and drink in front of the computer however i don,t like doing that at all i like to take the time out to eat and drink so i don,t feel like iam on the computer all the time and i can take time out to spend with my family nothing is that important i feel then spending time with my family.

i use to drink my coffee in front of the computer but i never drink will working on with papers. I usually do drink and eat whenever i'm just reading something on the web. But when it requires to type something i need to pause or better to choice to eat or do the computer thing... just like you i don't want to spill over my beloved pc. need to be cautious. happy lotting

I do drink while I am on the computer and twice so far have spilled cups of coffee on my keyboard. I am so lucky that it did not do any damage. I do eat in front of the computer but try not to as I do not want to make a mess and ruin my computer I cannot affords a new one!

Hi there! That's a very interesting question. I usually eat in the right place and that is on the table. My mom told me that I should respect the food and one way of respecting it is by eating in the place where it should be done. :-)

i both eat and drink in front of my laptop. in fact, i was eating an ice cream while reading this question, and that's why i felt like replying. of course i am careful not to spill anything on the keyboard because that could spoil it. for me, i eat and drink while watching shows on my laptop. i like to watch shows online because i can catch the latest episodes online. it's just like watching TV and eating a meal, except now i'm watching a laptop screen

I did and still doing it if i think that i am too busy with my computer. I make sure that my computer will not get messy, maybe most especially people in call centers they don't have enough time to get up and go out to eat somewhere else so they eat infront of the computer if they get hungry.
