This is one of many articles that shows that the study done to "prove" high cholesterol leads to heart disease, did not in fact stress that factor. There are MANY factors involved.
I know many people are hooked on the lowfat lie, but no one has ever gotten any long term real benefits from eating that way.

There is no research, that I have found, that supports the use of cholesterol medications in preventing heart attacks. I have been off cholesterol meds for years and by diet and other factors, have improved. BUT even so, there is no real proof that the high numbers kill us.
I know that I believed all of the hype about eating low fat. I was put on a low fat diet, recommended by the American Heart Association. My cholesterol went up, anyway, so that did not help, but I also gained weight.
Now I eat fat, eat red meat but do not eat sugar, corn syrup, white flour, white rice, white potatoes, etc. and my health has improved.
A good book to read is "Licking the Sugar Habit" by Nancy Appleton, M.D. A good site to visit, where there is a good collection of articles on this on mercola.com.

I noticed that with many surveys. They will give multiple choice but none of the choices fit. Rather than having "OTHER" and a space for explanation, I have no choice but to pick one, and if they are on line, you cannot skip like you can with a paper one, where I have written in an answer.

Often being told high cholesterol leads to heart disease due mainly to our eating habits and lifestyle. During these recent years, I have been very careful with the food in that are with lower cholesterol effect. Consuming some chinese herbs help to eliminate our cholesterol, and I have made it a habit to do so as a routine, which I feel good.
