This experience has never happened to me.
However, I do know other people who have flown from Europe to the United States to meet their internet friends.
It is truly wondrous that people can and do form excellent relationships that are initiated virtually.
The internet is a fabulous resource!

yeah, but still need to be careful too, sometimes there is a scam. As what happened in my country now. Meeting in chat room, then the guy said wanted to sent a present to a girl as special gift. Suddenly, they received a call from immigration or courier service saying that if we want the parcel, we need to pay certain amount for the compound. Sometimes we are lucky and sometimes we don't.

Yes, I had an experienced on this. I have 2 friends from Europe and they are so lovely and nice. She came to my country last year (2007) visit my country and me. Another 2 friends (guy) also did a same thing, came to my country to visit and now we become more closer and closer. One thing in virtual friendship, we must be careful too, to find a friend but the most important if you are honest and sincere definately we will meet people like who you are.

Great and I am happy for you. I actually will have a virtual friend coming over soon and I am a bit excited really. I agree that honesty is really important in friendships.

It never happened in my case. I do not wish it to happen to. The world is very beautiful yet hosts many evils too. Let virtual friends stay in the virtual world only. I do not want them coming down in the physical world -- at least at this moment.

Hello wondericequeen,
I just feel lucky if this happen to me. Well, you know the answer! I don't have this wonderful experience. But yes, I do have an online friend who came to my country - not to visit me but for some business deals and at the same time, he wanted to meet me in person. The result - I declined the offer.

Gosh, I've never had that happen but I bet it would be strange, scary, exciting, exhilarating, and weird all at the same time. I'd love to hear some of those stories!

Indeed I will have a friend coming over to visit me soon, I think it's rather exciting and strange. It's like you know the person so well but you haven't know the daily details about that person, that part I would regard as strange *laughs*.
