While history can seem a touch dull, it is in fact chock-a-block full of comedy gold. Many people had wit that could cause coffee contamination of one's screen and keyboard. I found some choice Zingers on Cracked.com which takes the lighter, saltier side of life on most subjects.
*
For example; Winston Churchill and Lady Astor had a long standing feud that had verbal cover fire flying.
*
Churchill: “What disguise would you recommend I wear to your costume ball?”
Astor: “Why don’t you come sober, Prime Minister?”
*
Astor: “If you were my husband, I’d poison your tea.”
Churchill: “Madam, if you were my wife, I’d drink it.”
