No one will ever get rich from mylot or any other paid websites.

I have seen many discussions an and complaints about the lack of money people have recieved from their numerous paid websites they have joined. Many people here are affiliated with these PTC sites I've been hearing so much of. Read a comment from one person saying he had a total of $180 in 2 or 3 yrs from another paid site and he has recieved something like $25 and the rest of the money is still pending for a few months now. He's wondering if it's worth it. I read another person say that evn though the money hasn't really came out the way she wanted, she still likes posting on mylot and communicating with the people.
The bottom line folks is that no website is going to pay anyone a ton of money just to write a bunch of blogs and respond to other peoples discussions. I don't know much about these Ptc sites, but I figure they don't pay that much either. I look at the amount of money I get excited over here at mylot. I have been here over a month and I'm about 2 and a half dollars away from $10. I'm getting excited over the fact that I've maid about $2 total this past week and a half. That's nothing I can pay my bills with. I think all of us here get excited when we log into our accounts and see that our balance has gone up just a few more pennies over a few days time. These sites pay so little that we jump out of our skin for what,$0.50?
The amount of time and effort it would take for you to make in a day here what most of us make at our jobs isn't worth the effort. I can't imagine how many hrs and days you would have to be online just to get to half of your weekly salary. Even if you had a ton of referrals. From what I hear most of these sites give you a penny for each person that signs underneath you. How many years from now will it take to reach $500 here on mylot? As bad as the economy is, if anyone looses their job, they aren't going to be able to turn to their families and say " no need to panic everyone, I'll just do my daily post on mylot full time to make up for my salary. We'll be fine".

I have never thought of getting rich from my online activities but what I earn is enough to pay for the hosting for my blogs and that is good enough for me. With my current online earning, I do not have to worry about my hosting fee for many years to come. So, Yes you can make money on the internet but to become rich, only a few would have made it and that is because they have something that others would want...
To those who are still dreaming of becoming rich or who are still struggling to be one, just take a step back, look at what you have and then ask yourself whether you are going to be rich doing whatever you are doing. If the answer is yes, by all means, press on! If not, just accept it and enjoy the time that you have on the internet. Make some side incomes here and there and get rid of the pressure of trying to be rich...
That's my 2 cents... Cheers!

I was just wondering how much do you pay for your hosting and what do you get for that?
I have several reasons for asking this, one of them being that I actually give away free hosting and was wondering how it compares with what you pay and what you get. If you would care to take a look http://www.foreverfree.0lx.net or http://www.yiphee.co.uk.
As for making money on line check out my comment below!

That's pretty cool that you are getting your blog hosting paid for. Like you say the real way to make money online is if you have something people want. You would most likely have your own website that offers goods and/or services that people pay for. To me if you have a website that has a bunch of referral links and maybe if you sell things on ebay you have the potential to earn decent amount of money. But having read peoples comments on how they do not feel what they earn is not worth the time they spend here makes me wonder how much they actually thought they were going to be getting paid.

You are absolutley right. And that's all I use this website for. To talk about and get peoples opinions on certain things. It gives me more motivation than posting a blog. Since I like to come here and see how much I can earn in a few days. I've been on a roll as of late. I get exited when I see my earnings go up a full 4 cents in a whole week..lol. But to some people here, they feel like it's a waste of their time to get paid so little. I don't expect to retire off of mylot. But I'll take what ever little money I can get. It's like you said, this is the best way for me to kill some time when I'm bored. Especially for me since I don't know what else to do when I'm online except go to youtube. And even that gets boring. I'm writing this post right now from my cel phone. I work the night shift in the post office and there isn't anything else to do. So why not mylot.

Yes, you do make more money writing a Blog, or writing on some of these websites. I think a person could do good in stocks I haven't tried it yet but I think I will. But stocks aren't doing to well now. But there are ways to make money online.

I think for many people the reward comes from having people respond to their discussions, at least that is what I look forward to.
I am not naieve enough to think that these sites will ever earn me enough money to buy anything worthwhile, but, they do allow me to purchase a few non-essential gadgets every few months safe in the knowledge that my own hard earned cash is safely locked away...normally in my wifes purse!
The amount of time people spend on these sites reflect more on the enjoyment of writing things for the sake of writing them, when you look at the people who have been around a while you can see this very apparent. The new writers are the ones who ask the same questions time after time and soon get bored of writing after earning just a few cents. They seem to think that they will earn enough to live off and as you have pointed out that will never happen.
Enjoy the writing, enjoy responding to discussions and don't worry about earning x amount of cents a day. Do it for fun.
All the best,
J.

That's exactly why I started this discusion. Many of the new comers keep repeating the same question asking is anyone truly happy with their mylot earnings. I think many join mylot thinking they are going to be making easy cash just for posting blogs. I mean that's what I consider mylot to be is a blog site. But more better than your average blog cause you get paid a few pennies for your efforts. It is more fun to me to get feedback from others. Since I work the nightshift I don't get to call into sports talk shows or any other shows to hear my email get read on the air because I'm sleep during the hrs these shows are on. So I come here and ask the questions and give my thougts on certain topics and get feedback from the people here. Screw the talk shows, it's all about mylot.

Tell me about it. This definately isn't going to get most people anywhere, unless you refer evry other internet user in the world and respond to every conversation. I have seen people say on here that you make more by starting a new discussion than by responding to an existing one. I don't know how true that is. I've sat there and typed for an hour straight and made the same amount as I did responding to a few conversations.

I don't know how they go about paying people here. I responded to a bunch of discussions one day and got a decent amount the next time I logged on. But I don't really pay attention to see how much my account goes up everytime I start or respond to a discussion. I've gotten over 50 responses to this discussion alone, and it has been abit tiring trying to respond to each one after I responded to the 1st 20 or so. But what if you start a discussion that no one responds to, do you get credit for that as well? That's what I'd like to know.

The way I see it is more of a positive spin on it. Question. Do you like to write on forums? IF so why not get paid for something you like to do. I have the free time so why not put my efforts towards getting some extra cash for a rainy day? I've only been here for a week and a half and am 3 dollars away from 10 dollars. My guess is if I keep at it at this rate I'll at least reach the 30 dollar mark by the end of the month. I put my cash out high because really I don't want 10 here and there it's nicer to get a larger lump sum later on down the road. 100$ in say 6 months for posting is actually a lot of money. It's going directly into savings.
I like to think of it as the money jar only online. Any change I have I put in a money jar. Sure it's not a lot but in the end it adds up. If you don't' like it so much and are soo negative why are you bothering then? I'm kinda puzzled why someone would be soo negative about something such as this yet choose to keep on 'trying' to make money. It's not the money in my eyes that's the principle it's the fact that what I write is actually meaning something to some one. The money is a bonus and as I said why not enjoy getting paid even if it's pennies for something your going to probably do any ways. At least with me. I'm apart of 3 forums. This one and 2 others that don't pay. I figured if I do it why not do it at a site that compensates me for running off with my mouth. Seems like a good trade off in the end :)

PS. If you were very concerned about making the money online then you should try to post a bit more. your rating shows you don't post much which is probably why your getting a lousy income. I think one of the huge misconceptions is "If I sit here and watch the screen the money will appear. NOpe... not to say the least, if you seriously think of it from a money side then I strongly suggest you get more active. The active you are the more mola in the end. Just like anything in this life real or virtual. What you put in is what you get out.

Joining Mylot is out of my curiousity and coincidently, and also my first such cyber interaction, so I do get a bit of excitment. I joined mylot a couple of days ago. I started my 1st posting, and was excited when I received responses, he! this is something interesting, and noticed I have earnings too, and as you said pennies are increasing. Agreed, we cannot get rich from this earnings, just enjoy posting and hear different views, stories and opinions from mylot community.

I am not sure how long it will take to get to 500 bucks on MyLot but I have reached and surpassed 500 bucks on another site taht does pay out quickly for such post as we do on MyLot and I don't feel they are as strict as MyLot. They may be a little hard to figure out. But once someone learns the ropes they do pretty good at it.

Mostly of us here joined in mylot for the yearning to earn money or any other sites that pays. Reasons because we wanted to earn even a few cents so even a 10 dollars a month can help us in this crisis in our economy. I don't know in your country but 10 dollars a month is already an income, I can feed my family from breakfast to dinner for two days already. It's true that we can't compete our salaries in our regular jobs from our earnings on the net. But additional income from some source is already an income and can help us survive in this economic crisis we are facing.
No one will ever get rich from mylot or other paid websites but they do help us add some extra cents to pay our bills, buy some stuffs for survival.

Well i should make one thing clear that no one will become rich just because they come online or do something. it requires shear hard work and intelligence and many more things, even some luck.
online earning opportunities are there to make business using the internet users. mylot is a place where you can do what you do at myspace, or hi5, or orkut, or whatever but still can manage some money out of that. mylot feels that they should share some part of the revenue they generate thru the online members. thats all. it is not "get rich program".
also no site will make a person rich for nothing. where do you expect them to go begging after that. nothing comes free of cost my dear friend.
hope i made certain things clear without hurting your feelings.
happy mylotting.

i agree with your views and good that you started it with public interest.
i agree that there are many sites which are scam. i would say that the anxiety of people to get money in seconds has made them grow and we are to be blamed. if we spend time learning what the site has to offer and look for proofs of payment before joining then there will less scam sites. hope we have such a situation soon.

Oh not to worry, you didn't insult me lol. I didn't start this discusion for myself. I am not one of those who joined mylot with the thought that I could make a serious amount of extra income from this site. I felt the need to start this post because of the numerous amount of duscusions I have seen people start about how they have all these complaints for all these so called pay sites that they have joined. They say it's either a scam or they are not satisfied with the amount of money they earned for the time they spend here. It's motivation for me to blog on this site to see how much my small change amounts to by the end of the week. But I like conversating with people and hearing their opinions. It's a better way for me to spend time online. I feel that I would get more respnses here rather than if I had a blog. And I do have one but I don't keep it updated and I don't respond to other peoples blogs enough to invite them to read mines. I feel my blogs here get faster attention. As far as the money I never expected to make a whole lot. It's the same as these paying survey sites. They say make up to $15-$50 an hr taking surveys. When you sign up half or most of these surveys tell you to buy something in order to redeem your $15. It's a bunch of crap!

Well, you shouldnt be only dependent on myLot alone for earnings. As there are a lot of other websites available through which you can earn. Earnings here on myLot as far as I know varies from user to user. So its upto you to decide the how much and how good can you make your earnings. Also if you have an effective and efficient downline, you can a add some great commissions to your account.

Having alot of downlines and referrals is the best way to get a little more out of these type of sites. The problem with my stupid friends is that I tell them to go to a site like this and sign up under me so I can get some referral points and they never do it. Bunch of bumbs!!

You're right - no one gets rich from these online thigs.
But writing in this forum gives you a little bit of satisfaction.Like helping ohers that need a good advise, and you can help.
Or when you need to ask someone something and you're not sure you can take it to one of your co-workors, or o the family, this is an excelent place.
Everyone gives and receives something.
Everything in here is for your soul.To make you feel better about yourself.
That's what I think, at least.

I never thought of it that way. Using this place to ask some embarasing questions you might not want any one else to know. Having said that I have a question I need some help on. I get this burning sensation when I'm ....just kidding. I don't think I even have the guts to ask someone for some advice even on that subject even if it was on mylot. But maybe it would be helpful to most teens. The only thing is hopping it doesn't take a whole week or two to get answers.

I agree with you. I hope people don't waste their time on here trying to make an income to support their family. Websites like this should be used to direct people onto a real money making website such as a home business. Don't get me wrong, mylot is a great place with a lot of great people. But I can't stay on mylot all day trying to make a dollar.
My real motivation for being here is guiding people to www.myLocalDSL.com and other sites that I make real money from. Mylot would be good for someone that is already retired and needs to make some small change and stay interactive with people. For the rest of us full time workers, stay with the full time job or home business. Use these sites moderately to build a network of friends and business minded people that can help you be successful in life.
Good luck everybody. Have fun doing whatever you do.

Thanks for the link I'll check it out when I get some time and maybe leave you some feed back on what I think of this site you are suggesting. Yhe main reason I started this post is I keep seeing the same complaints from different people about how they are not earning as much as they thought they would online. Not necesarily from mylot, but just from being online in general. I read a discusion in the topic here in myloy called "Make extra money". This person said they have been jobless for a few months and have been looking to earn some decent money. They go on to say they haven't had any real luck and that they are starting to learn that these type of sites are the slowest way to earn. This person in their post was asking for help from anyone that is earning at least $200 a month consistently.
To me thebest way to earn is in investing your own money and hosting your own website that offers goods and services or products that people want. You can probably earn a decent amount if you are affiliated with a buch of sites like these. But how much time can a person spend on several different sites at one time?

That's the main thing this site is for. It's for fun, connecting with people and a better way for me to spend my time on the internet. I do enjoy seeing how much I can earn in a day or two. With the little few pennies that we all get paid, I find myself getting excited when I see my earnings go up a full $0.15 after one days work.

You're right - there's no such thing as free money, nor is there any way to get rich on these online sites. However, what's wrong with making a couple extra bills every now and again? I use several sites and have netted out a couple hundred bucks over the last 6 or so months. It depends where you're looking and how much free time you have on the internet. I know no online free money-making opportunity will ever even come close to a fraction of what i can make with hard work and time at my job, but i'm not going to turn down the opportunity for a little extra in my savings account!

I have no problem with people looking to make some cash on the side. That's the other reason why I spend so much time here. I like the fact that I can make a few pennies for my thoughts. Iwould still do it if there wasn't money involved, but it's more motivation to come here more often knowing that I'm getting something out of it. That's cool that you have made a few hundred bucks. I heard someone say they are going to increase their payout limit from $10. I think that's what I'm gonna do. I don't wanna get paid $10 for my maximum payout. i would rather wait a few months and get paid a few hundred bucks all at once.

I'm don't think people think they are going to be rich off mylot, but it seems alot of the people who 1st join expected to be getting paid way more than just a few pennies. The people making serious money online pretty much have invested money into theri own website and offer some kind of goods and services or products. I have tried the website thing in the past. You have to pay for a merchant account to accept payments every month. And if you're not selling anything it's a pain in the a$$.

There's nothing wrong with people loking to get rich online. but my point is that if you think you're goin to make a ton of money on ssomething as easy as writting blogs here you are in for a long day. If you are in it for the money, more power to anyone looking for some cash. But you would probably have to be unemployed to the point where you could literaly sit in front of yur computer from dusk till dawn. And I mean from 12am to 12 midnight. I don't think anyone is doing that. Even on the days that I have free time, I say I'm going to stay home and post on mylot all day. And what do I do, I get online for about 20minutes and post 1 or 2 blogs and I'm ready to log off. You can be affiliated with a number of sites, like I am with these free paid survey sites. But I never get around to them because I'm always on mylot. If there is anyone out there making serious income from sites like these, more power to you and don't report that sh#t to the IRS!!! It's funny cause I start and respond to half my conversations at work on my cell phone. I have a motorola q. And that's the main thing I use it for is the internet. I can only sit there and play that stinking solitare game that came free in the phone so many times. So I sit at work and kill time by mylotting. I started this conversation at work, and now I'm at home responding to all of these comments. And you are right about these spam sites. There are too many scams out there. I request info for work at home jobs all the time. People call me and I never return their call cause I don't trust them. I have lost money on one of these scams before and I'm not investing any money on any more internet get rich quick scams.

Geting rich here or any other websites is somehow beyond the reality. I love writing here because I like the people and the topics here. I think most of us here haven't got much earnings , but they can find a lot of fun here. I don't know what kind of gift I could buy with mylot money. Maybe if I joined this site 5yrs ago I would have enough money to buy myself a nice baseball cap.
