I'm thinking about waxing my legs a week now. And I'm in second thought about it because some of my friends told me that waxing have to do with our skin. It makes our skin irritated and it has a concern with the structure of the skin. Is that so?
Some said it was nice to have it because it leaves our skin oh so smooth and nice to touch. And no more razoring. But I never razor my skin before or even pluck it. I never do anything. And they said it was nice to wax virgin skin or never been razor before. Is that really true?
You guys had a wax before? Share some info about it so I can decide if I would go on or just leave it as it is. I don't have that too hair legs just fine. It is not visible at 3 meters.

If you are going to do it, I would test it on one spot to see how your skin reacts. There are many different types of wax available and you want to choose one appropriate for your skin. It does however, hurt! I wax my eyebrows and moustache area, but that's about all the pain I can take. I don't know how some women do the Brazilian wax!

I have tried waxing on my very sensitive skin and I ended up with a huge rash there. It did not feel soft but flaky and sore. It also hurt like crazy to do. So I would never do it again. I use a razor to shave my legs. I do it usually once a week on a weekend when I take a nice bath after a weeks long work. I use shave cream and my legs are very soft and smooth. The hairs on my legs are very fine and pretty light and I don't get many. I have been shaving for twenty years and my skin is still super soft.

I never had my hair grow back thicker or darker like I was told. My skin after waxing eventually healed but waxing wasn't for me.

I have had my legs waxed a few times and whilst it does deliver the best results, it is a bit too painful for me, and as has been said before, you do have to wait for the hair to grow back before you can get it done again.
I got into the habit of shaving, but because my hair is really dark, I had to shave almost every day to stay smooth and good looking legs, especially in the summer.
So my preferred method of hair removal is my epilator. It is better than waxing for me because it removed really short hairs. You can it yourself at home, so don't have to make an appointment and then pay for the pain. On the downside, it is a little bit painful, but no pain no gain. It works similar to waxing by removing the hairs at the root, hence the pain.
It is also good in that it lasts longer than shaving, but occasionally I do shave in between epilations if I am in a rush. I tend to epilate once or twice a month, but it is up to you and your hair growth.
I recommend you check it out! :)

i like having my eyebrows waxed but with my legs i prefer shaving. the hair on my legs are really fine that's why i prefer shaving. but just remember that once you have it done you have to consider the upkeep. your hair will grow a bit longer and sometimes thicker after the process (esp with shaving). don't forget to moisturize to keep your legs smooth :)

Yes I tryed hot wax once it was the kind you warm up, and omg it irritated my legs big time, because after you warm it up then you have to smooth it over your legs and then you put that strip of paper on top of your legs, and over the wax then you quickly peel it off your legs, I hated that my skin was red and the spot where the wax had been was so sore, thats why I prefer using veet Nair or just shaving my legs because until they come up with an easyer safer way of removing hair thats the best way for me to remove hair.

They now make mre natural waxes out of sugar and I cannot remember the other natural ingredient, but they are said to be more tolerant for your skin. When i did use wax I used Sally Hanson products.
Now instead of shaving or waxing I use Nair. I know it is a chemical, but I notice I do not have to use it as often as I was shaving and my skin does not become irritated by the chemicals. It has aloe in it, which is very soothing to the skin.

never have done this before but would love to try though. i do shave my legs and arms but never tried any different things other than a razor.
they say, it has bad effects to some. that scares me. hehehe.. it's of course, it can burn my skin or would have a bad reaction to my skin after a couple of days or whatever..

After waxing your skin its good not to be stay long time in water because it may cause of getting the water inside, just clean it and leave after an whole day before you take a longtime shower... So the open whole of our skin hair was heal already... Its reduce getting red spot in your skin.. I preferred shave even I shave 3x a week, its avoid skin red spot.

hey!.. I think waxing is not a good idea because it can only make the hair of your skin thick...I think, hair removing cream is more helpful compared to waxing...because in waxing, you'll have to experience pain and I don't know if you can tolerate it..hehe! just an advice...stay natural..god bless.!

Hi Micahbrul,
Please read my personal observations :
I am 28 Yr Male & I have been waxing my chest almost every fortnight .I have tried razors & hair removal creams initially however I can vouch one thing for sure that best option is to wax if you want to get rid of unwanted hair.
Benefits of waxing over Razor /HairRemoval/Plucking:
1. Brings the root out & hair takes longer for regrowth. Plucking is similar but basic difference is that though both are pinful but in waxing all is done in one go unlike in plucking where its goes on & on & on .Also plucking seems like a never ending process sometimes.
2.Razoring thickens your hair , makes roots of the hair more strong & increases hair growth as well in some cases ..making it dificult for future .
3.Hair Removal creams have their side effects which vary frm person to person.
They may leave some dark spots if left unattended little more than required. This is just one example . It may cause iritation or redness in the area concerned.
Hope my experiences help you out. Thanks " Beetel "

I do shave my legs and even waxing it. As of my observation, in shaving the hair grows back easily and it's really itchy so I need to shave it when the hair grows back. I've tried waxing, it's really painful but it grow back longer than shaving but there are red spots on the skin where the hair grows after waxing until 2-3 days. It doesn't look good at first but after waxing my skin is really smooth.
When your leg's hair is not that visible why don't you let it stay that way... you wont worry to remove it regularly and you wont buy wax anymore. Just my opinion mica!

I shave my legs regulary, I even had them waxed a few times. But I wouldnt anymore. It really hurts. I went a few times because some say that after a while it doesnt hurt that much anymore, but I thought it hurt just more and more lol I cant stand that pain, its just too much for me.And honestly it didnt leave my legs smooth for much longer then shaving. Besides I rather shave every second day then have waying once a month. There is one other thing, hair need to be a few millimeters long in order to wax them, but I cant wait that long, Im too used to having hairless legs :)

Right. Waxing really scares me a lot. It was a hell pain of all. That's how they described it. And shaving thickens the hair than before. That's why I'm in second thought about it. I don't have that thick hair.
Or maybe I need more time to think and consider a lot of consequences before going on. Because it was no turning back. lol!
Thanks, I'll consider your advise.

I've been waxing for the past three years and I can say with no hesitation that I prefer it to shaving. After waxing for so long, I have some spots on my legs where the hair no longer grows. There aren't very many of them but it's nice to know I have some.=P
After shaving, the hair grows back quicker and gets really uncomfortable if you don't shave again within a few days. With waxing, my legs are usually hairless for about two weeks. Regarding your comment about it leaving your skin irritated, it really depends. For me, shaving irritates my skin but waxing does not. My friend shaves and says that that's fine for her. She gets really uncomfortable after waxing. So it's all about your skin I guess.
The cons to waxing would be that you have to let it grow back a bit before waxing again. Many people don't like doing that (yes, I admit it annoys me). But they don't need to grow as much as people say they do. For me, it's best to wax once every three weeks in order to have the least hair possible. Others find that they should do it once every month.
Shaving is generally just a lot more practical. If you get a last minute invite to a party and you have some hair on your legs, you can grab your shaver and remove them quickly. Waxing isn't like that. That's really the only appeal shavers have on me: the convenience.
I'm not sure if it's true that hair grows back thicker after shaving. Some tell me that they've tried both and their hair has always grown out the same. However, my experience has been different. I found my hair much finer after waxing than shaving. Again, it could be depending on your hair or skin follicles, I don't know.=P
You're lucky that you already don't have much hair! My advice for you is to wax (if it doesn't bother you) as shaving may make your hair grow out thicker. Your hair is naturally fine so don't mess that up! I'll warn you though... it hurts a lot (especially the first few times)! After three years, I still dislike waxing days.=( xD
Hope you choose what's best for you!^_^

yeah! you scares me a bit. lol! But I'll consider your advises. It gives me an idea how to start on. And maybe a better preparation for my first waxing experience I think. lol!
It doesn't bother me at all but they said it is more good to look if girls really have hairless legs. That's why I got the idea of having a hairless legs too.
