Hi. I am just wondering if you feel like working in a company as early as 7 in the morning? This week I was given a schedule as a early as seven in the morning. My previous schedule was around 9 am. I really find it hard to adjust with the situation. Before I wake up 6:30am to prepare goint to office since it would take me one and half hour to reach my office, now that I have a new schedule, I wake up as early as 4:30 am. I really find it hard. Hope my schedule will be back at 9 am. What about you? How do you find your schedule in your office?

I'm fine with working as early as 7:00am, as long as I can go off early too. I prefer to get to work early, so that I can avoid the traffic jam. Also, if I can go off early, I can spend more time doing my personal stuffs, instead of spending time in traffic jam too. My office hours are from 8:30am to 5:30pm daily. In order to avoid the traffic jam, I have to get up at 6:00am, and leave my house before 7:00am. After work, it's always very jam, so sometimes I need to stay in the office until later then only I go home.

When I was working outside of my home I went to work around 6 or 6:30. So I would get up around 4 or 4:30 to watch the news and get ready. Now I have started my own business and I am working from home but still wake up around 4 am. I wouldn't like to drive 1 1/2 hours to work. I only had a 30 minute commute and didn't like it too well. I guess it may not be too bad if the route to work wasn't bad. But the one I had to take was a little crazy.

Hi. In my first job, I worked as early as 6 in the morning. My workplace is way too far from home then, so I have to wake up as early as 3:00 am. It is really hard, waking up that early. Also, it was on shifts, and it makes things a bit harder for me, changing the working schedule every month. Its been a year since I left that job, and I'm now looking for another one. Hoping that I would land on a fixed-schedule job.

I would say that so far i can be considered quite lucky as my working hours are quite flexible and I do not need to report to work at a given specific time. I can sometimes work from home if I choose to. If you were to ask me to wake up at 4.30am and start work at 7.00am, I would definately give up on that kind of work. So far, the earliest I have started work was 8am and considering that I wake up at 7am.

Hello rberon1985,
It's just ok with me because I am used to working at 7AM in the morning. You are right that it is a big adjustment for you because of the difference in time. It will take sometimes before you get adjusted but don't worry you will be just fine. You will find that getting up early and doing your work early is much better than doing it later.
Regards.

When I was still working in a food chain, I experienced shifting schedules also. It is hard but if you learned to adjust, it will not anymore. You just need to cope with right away.

Truthfully i never feel like working. Im self employed and hate my job. Lol. Thats bad i know. I clean for a living. I do not own a car any more but thats not a problem when you require clients to have all the cleaning materials. Solutions and equipment, etc. I do however have to get up very early to get there at a good starting time like 7am or 8am, etc. That way im either beating the summer heat or early winter sunsets, for getting back home. Its not that i like getting up early but i need to. I also have to get up like 4am to shower, eat brakfast, etc. I usually have everything ready to go the nite before in case i wanna press that snooze. If i were driving i would not have to get up as early. Sometimes i hire help to come with me and they have a car so we dont go as early. Not nice to turn on a vaccum before 9am if there are people within hearing range. I just figure the earlier i go the earlier i get done. And i love getting done eartly./

Hello rberon1985, well I have been leaving the house a few times this week about 7am to go working and I can tell you that it's not easy getting up on these cold dark winter mornings to travel in by train to the city, surrounded by other people, sitting there in a half daze - with closed eyes, as if they are trying to catch up on their sleep. Like you I am getting up about 5am to prepare myself for the day, which means that I am missing a lot of sleep, as I generally get to bed about 12 midnight and it takes me quite a while to nod off. Only at the weekends do I really get the chance to relax and catch-up on my lost dreamtime.
The only good thing about starting early is that you feel you get more out of your day and that you may arrive home in daylight, which is a bonus in the winter. Have a good weekend. Umart

The call centre where I work runs from 8-11 and I work in the section where we have to start at 7 am to get the place up and running by the time the agents come in!
I hate getting up early. I need several cups of strong coffee just to get started in the morning. Fortunately I only have to do it about once a month. There are other people who i work with who really like the idea of getting out at 3.

Wow, I wish I could wake up at 6:30 am...by then I am either really late for work and pulling into the drive and rushing to the time clock....or I am well on my way down the hall passing meds.
I have to wake up around 3:45-4:15 AM in order to do my morning ritual of becoming human and then do a 30 minute commute...all before 6am....that is if I am on time. LOL

That seems easy compared to my schedule... I work third shift and have to be in work at 10pm and stay til 8am. I often only get 4 to 6 hours of sleep a day. I find it really hard to go to sleep by 1 in the afternoon (to get the required 8 hours) and get up at 9pm.

i love to wake up early. i like to have good early sleep. i would love to go for job early 7.00 . may be even earlier. it may sound little crazy for some but that's it that i like to do. usually i sleep early and wake up at 3.00 am in the morning for 9.30 am job. even if the job is at 7.00 i don't have to wake up early as i do nothing in the morning . wake up and just walk around.

Yes! working as early in the morning is way better than working at night. Because all of the energy reserved from sleep will be used in a normal manner other that working in a graveyard shift.
