Will You Still Write In Ciao Even They Changed The Policy?

It was announced yesterday that Ciao is now removing 25cents per review. What they have implementd now is that it is just like a contest. Whoever has the best review in each category or section will get $10 for teh place and $5 for the second place. Isn't it unfair. What if you were not chosen? What will happen to your review? Its just like you write for nothing?what is your insight about this? Will you still write?

I'm not that angry because I'm new to the site, I have about 5 reviews and about one person voted in each of them, so I'm not really loosing much. On the other hand, while I joined MyLot because the people seemed nice, I did join Ciao to make some extra cash, if anything so I could play online poker without failing to pay bills and the like.
If my reviews were of a better quality, I'd be very tempted to edit them into something far more stupid and move the real ones to a site that actually pays for them. For now I'll just wait and see what Ciao does, they do mention they have other incentives planned for the future.

I have like $4.00 there. I'm $1.00 a way from payout. What now? Will they let me write 4 reviews to cash out? Very frustrating if the answer is no.

Of course I did, but I fail to see your point. Do you think this discussion is a lie or something?

At first, Ciao was giving members $1 for each review, then they changed to $0.25 per review and now they are changing their program again to award only those that can get the best and second best review to be paid. If you are a good reviewer/commentator on products then go ahead and try you skill and luck to get paid with Ciao. But if you are just a simple folk who just wants to earn easy money by just submitting measly reviews then forget it. You're just wasting your time and resources which would have been wasted to something else.

I will think back to continue to make reviews in ciao. It is very difficult to try to make money in a contest. No sustainable policy in the website. I prefer to remain in the website that provides a guarantee of stable income, such as mylot. Mylot very reliable. This has been ongoing for many years, and all witnesses. let's more realistic.

I think it should not be called the pay-to-review site, it's like a pay-to-contest site. Well, consumers share their personal experience and how could one judge which one is the best? If the count how many rate on certain reviews, what happen to those people who have less friends but with a better review? I don't think it's a fair system and I won't be active there for now, since I might just use the time to spend on my own sites and mylot. I will see if they have other "compensations" before getting back there.

Most probably not. Currently earning an extra income is my motivation. So far I have not been active on sites where we have to depend on luck to get some money after squeezing the brain to write and submit articles or postings. I am not arguing against what Ciao is doing. Any site owner has the right to do so. I guess if we do not like it then we will have to look for other sites.

I don't know.. i'm kind of confused how this system works.. i'm having second thoughts of visiting ciao again most especially now that they have changed the rules.. yay! i know, it's a lesson to all scammers but it's one unfair decision to all those who have worked hard..

Yes i will, besides you could still earn from reads of other members with your review and your reads to others too. Maybe ciao did this to eliminate those copy-paste reviewer. I think this is better as the member will have to make a good review now or else their hard work would end up into nothing.

I guess that was just the payment per review. But the earnings for ratings is not yet gone and so, the best way to earn for now is to write really exemplified review.I've seen a lot of abuses at ciao with regards to posting reviews, so I think, this was just the action strategy of the management to clean-up ciao.WEll, good luck to us..

i would not write cos it is subjective on ranking a reviews and how do you rank reviews cos there is no definitive answer. it is not like doing mathematics like adding 1 plus 1 give you 2. how are they going to rank reviews. will the system be transparent and there are too many grey areas. also if you consider the number of reviews posted daily, it is in the region of ten of thousands and hundred of thousands monthly and they are only selecting a few hundreds to pay which is less than 5% of total reviews written. This mean that they will get 95% of reviews free of charge without paying and i would rather not let them benefit from it and delete my reviews or not even write it in the 1st place. now is the time to consider properly to stay or go.
