Should Mylot minimum payout of 10 US dollars be lowered or increased? Do you think that it is too steep for newcomers and this might discourage them to continue posting here? On the other hand don't you think that if the minimum payout is increased it would mean more work for the administration?

I think 10 dollars is a little far reaching and can be off putting for some people. With a 10 dollar payout myLot probably doesn't have to pay as much as say a 6 dollar payout to users overall as some users would've left before reaching the minimum, so they save money. I guess they'll take adminstration into account first if they do decide to consider about lowering the payout minimum. I think it's more work with a lower minimum but as a user i want the minimum payout to be lowered.

I agree. $10 feels like a LOT some days! It can be discouraging sometimes. I think that $5 would be a nice minimum payout. But, it is not up to me. I am sure that $10 is probably fair. But, I would surely be happy with it being changed to $5! *LOL*

I can your point, but there are other options for payouts as described above. Also, it depends on when you can participate. I just take my time with it. Some days I can post, others I am too busy.

I believe minimum payout is fine the way it is. As a new comer, it takes time to get used to the website. If a member is committed enough, he/she will stick with the website and enjoy posting and before they know it, the $10 will be reached.

I think $10 is a good amount, but I don't cash out at that. I have mine set for $25. It's nice to have $10 there in case I ever wish to cash out early.

Hi ronald...I think that the miminimum payout should stay the same, really it shouldn't discourage newcomers as it is a good payout also in other country's like here in the UK $10 is £5 and other country's currency's differ too so that has to be put into account...littleowl

Hi ronaldinu I think for a new comer it might be a bit daunting but it is a goal and a challenge, that is how I looked at it and made it. Well, I started halfway through a month and wasn't very active in those two weeks so I made it easily during the following month. If you find it too low then you can increase your payout total yourself!

$10 is a decent amount. It shouldn't be decreased. At least, it keeps the users here genuine and not the ones who would spam, and then gain some little cash from the low payout rate.

I agree and disagree lol. I feel that $10 does greatly discourage newbies. My daughter is living proof of that she has been so down cause it seems she will never reach her first payout. You have to remember also that I newbie does not get paid on the same level as say someone with over 1000 posts. I do disagree also because I feel it would encourage the wrong sort of poster. I think we have enough of that as is. So I guess I just sat on the fence with this one huh?

It is a complete myth that new people earn less than those with higher user ratings. MyLot pays according to the quality of posts and it is simply that new members tend not to understand that and post short responses. That is why they may tend to earn less.

My daughter and I did an experiment one day and did the same exact number of posts (just responding to other people not starting our own as that would be bias to other people responding) and she got paid just a few pennies while I recieved 25 cents. I made sure that our responses were comparible and everything so there is a bit of a difference. My daughter was under 100 posts at the time and I was somewhere near 1800.

We did this cause I was trying to prove your point that it didn't matter but guess what I was wrong. I hate when that happens. lol.

I think it should stay the same. The reason is that it gives one more incentive to write. I, of course, love writing, but for those who do not and for those who write one word sentences or even two sentences, then it will make them think that 'hey myLot wants me to write and if I just write something that only gets a yes or no answer, then I had better ask relevant questions or do more involved posts.

$10 is just fine.. ALot of sites, are having $10 as the minimum.. After all in mylot, one is allowed to choose their minimum, so, increasing your own minimum is not a problem at all.. At least mylot is good in this way, because it allows us to choose, based on our capabilities.. Rather than mylot setting it too high, and everybody will be so stressed to hit the minimum that alot of nonsense discussions will be started.. haha SO i do totally agree with what mylot is doing ^_^

I think $10 will be just fine. It really fits the members. I think it's a way for us to always be active in this site and thus to make the site going on and on. Basically a $10 payment is not that far to achieve as long as we keep on posting. Actually I myself haven't got any payment so far although I have joined this site for about 8 months. Sometimes I got bored here so I leave the site for a while but then come back. For me it's not the money that's important in this site. It's the fun, the sharing knowledge and building friendship. Thanks and happy posting...

I don't think that the minimum payout should be lowered. You have persons already fabricating persons responses. Can you imagine if it was lower to say $3. As for the second questions I don't really want to answer that one.

I think that minimum payout of 10$ is quite well u have to be patience and sincere in posting and discussion but if it would be 5$ then it would be the best and i even think of increase in mylot population.

I agree with you. It's way better to come here and just read, answer and basically enjoy yourself and the online company, all of a sudden after a few days, you 've racked up a measurable amount, which adds up quickly.

Increasing the payout limit would actually mean significantly less work and lower costs for admin. I think that the $10 payout is set correctly because it is actually achievable within a month (provided that people observe the guidelines and post quality discussions and responses). To make it any less would encourage the scammers and spammers. Since it is not one of those sites where one has to request payout (it pays out automatically once one's chosen payout level has been reached), I see no reason for reducing the payout level. You can, of course, choose to set it higher than $10 if you wish.

I think the $10 threshold is appropriate, but maybe they should introduce a lower first payout so that new users will see the site is legit.

The site is (and always has been) 'legitimate', honest and paying on the nail. There are quite enough new users joining already to make any kind of 'incentive' like that unnecessary. In any case, a 'lower first payout' incentive would only serve to encourage the wrong kind of people. MyLot is NOT a money-making scheme. It is a discussion site that shares its profits with members according to the value of their contributions.

No, I do not think payout should be lowered. I managed to get pay out the first month I started on MyLot. I think new members need to remember the guildines and post stuff that will not get deleted and longer comments. They will see their earning rise up faster.

I think the initial payment alone be set to a 2or 3 dollars. This will not be a great challenge for the new comer and it will be very helpful to gain confidence. After that,it shall be as it is now with 10 or 25 to our choice. This way,I think there will be more satisfied beginners.
