That sounds delicious! We have one - a ricotta torte with grated chocolate and Kahlua and creme de cacao. My mother makes it every year. When I make it, I add candied fruit - she leaves them out because no one else likes them.

Crema de fruta sounds really good. I used to make a special Christmas salad that took 24-hours to be ready. It had sauce similar to Hollandaise only with pineapple juice and whipped cream and dark cherries, diced peaches and pears and other delicious fruit, including peeled grapes. But the one dish that needs to be on our table for Christmas would be a pot of tamales.

For us, it would have to be callos, which is my dad's specialty, and hu chok theng, which really more like our family's specialty, since no other Chinese I know here makes that kind of soup. There is this other dish that my dad likes to cook, which is hiu co ma chiu, and I think we'll be having it at our Christmas get together, but he usually cooks it for Chinese new year. We'll see hehe. We do have a lot of new stuff ready for Christmas though like scallops. We're probably going to bake it, but I don't know as I can't cook. I'm so excited!

Yummies...well, the family is small so we all sleep (except mom and the maids)and she wakes us all up at midnight to have Noche Buena. Queso de Bola (salty cheese ball), Xmas ham, some pasta and french bread...thats been the tradition for a long time but now mom said she's adding butterball turkey!

our family has its own traditional recipe for chinese ham or christmas ham as others call it. it has been passed on to us from our great grandmother. every year, we are accepting orders, bulk orders as i may say. but since i'm here at singapore, hmm i can't process one and it's very sad that it'll be my first christmas without our homemade ham on the table.

Crema de fruta sounds delicious. Would you share the recipe? The one everyone in my family wants is always pistachio salad. It is a creamy salad with pistacio pudding, whipped cream, sour cream, and pineapple. I make it almost every holiday, but it is best at Christmas, since it is green in color.

that sounds awesome... unfortunately, pistachios here are very very expensive. take of that very very.. hehehehe... anyway, could you share the recipe here? the recipe of crema de fruta: 1. all-purpose cream 2. condensed milk 3. vanilla 4. butter 5. fruit cocktail, or any fresh fruits 6. chiffon cake mix all the first five. tweak to your own taste. then simply layer the cake with the cream. to put it simply..it's like a fruit salad and cake... then just freeze it up... hehhehe.. that's all..:-D btw, garnish it on top with more fruits... enjoy!

My family has the same rolls every year. It is a family recipe that my mom has used for as long as I can remember. We not only have them for Christmas, but usually for Easter and Thanksgiving as well.

every year i make what's called Christmas Wreath bread. you take regular bread and add some cinnamon and raisins to it. then divide the dough into 3 equal pieces. roll each piece into a long rope. then braid the ropes and shape into a wreath and place on a baking sheet. then i bake it. once it's cool i use really runny icing to glaze the top and sides of the bread. i then put some green and red glace cherries on top to represent holly berries. it's a huge hit every year and looks very festive.
