Can you see your breath yet?

The other night it was 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Thankfully, the wind that had been blowing remaning flowers off bushes had died down that night. But it was then that I noticed I could see my breath. I used to do that a lot when I was a kid. I'd puff out air with my mouth, to test if it was cold enough to see my breath. At night here, it is cold enough now to see it. What about you guys? Is it cold enough to see your breath? Will it get cold enough where you live?

It has been cold enough here a few nights to see your breath outside. I get off work a little after 8 and a few nights when I come out you could breathe into the air and see your breath floating away. We have been lucky though it hasn't been super cold yet suppose to be in the 40's today.

We are supposed to get to 60 today, but it amazes me how fast the temperature drops only after a few days.

It's 21 here today, porch and stairs are frozen, but so are the flies and ticks There is a positive side to everything, some times you just have to look a little harder.

All our spiders try to get in the house where it's warm, I keep catching them and throwing them back out in the cold. Keeps me active. Hah

It has gotten cold enough in my area for that, but not as cold as your 18 degrees F. It snowed yesterday in my area, but not enough to stand any kind of a chance to challenge Sarah Palin to a snowball fight. At least it has not been cold enough that your breath turns into ice crystals, at least, where I am. I don't know about you. Funny. I never knew what temperature it had to go down to in order to see someone's breath when they exhaled in the cold. The only thing I know is that it does not have to be freezing level, because at a place I used to work when I was in college, they had a walk-in refrigerator, & we used to be able to see our breath in there.

Our weather is nuts. Today it is 60 degrees. The low tonight is 33 degrees. It can't make up its mind whether it wants to be really cold or just chilly.

Sounds to me like the planet, Mercury. Being that the rotation is slow compared to Earth, & being so much closer to the sun, during the day, it gets very, very hot, a lot more than hot enough to boil water away almost instantly. Then at night, it goes down to as cold as a few hundred below zero.

Black ice is something I always have concern about this time of year. We'll probably have to deal with that next week, but for now the streets are just fine.

It sure is cold, freezing cold. Brrrrrr! Right now it's 9 degrees F. and it's 11 in the morning. When I got up this morning it was 2 degrees F. There are a few inches of snow on the ground and everything is frozen so yes, we sure can see our breath. We might be moving to warm Texas in the future. (that's were my mom lives)

Hi! It is nice to see you. : ) Even though it doesn't get as cold in Texas, their summer makes up for it with heat, don't you think? : )

Nice to see you too! It would be ideal to live in Texas in the winter and Illinois in the summer. I guess I'm only thinking of the warmth right now.lol I may move there to be closer to some family.

Hello AmbiePam. Yes, I can see my breath seven thirty in the morning in the open air, but not after the sun is out. We are having fine weather these days and do not feel cold at all during the day. It is cold in the evening. I used to do the same as you do when I was a kid. Stay warm, friend.

Hi AmbiePam, Brrrrr, brrrr, is all I can say for here in the UK, thick layers of frost on the cars and yes you can se you breath. Even my son who doesn't usually feel the cold is sat on the sofa with a blanket on him at this moment in time as he is cold bless and that is with a vest, t-shirt and sweatshirt on, as I am a firm believer in layers to help keep warm. Huggles. Ellie :D

We have some weather cold enough to see your breath. We should be getting some in a few days in fact. I'm a cold weather-lover. I love frosty noses, pink cheeks and hearty stews and chili. We have a pretty short winter here in Oklahoma, but it's long enough to enjoy. I wish we could bottle up some of those days to enjoy in the summer when it's 100 degrees out!

You're in Oklahoma too? Howdy! No, I don't often say howdy, but I figured it was a proper Okie greeting. : )

oh it is -10 here so I guess if I went out I surely would see my breath, as long as I don't see it in the house, it is not dangerous to me personally so I am okay with that lol

Yes, we sure can. Sometimes even during the day we can, it's been and still is so cold day and night here. We've had snow and rain and the wind...oh my the wind is so cold. I too remember in my early years blowing out my nreath in the cold. Or just breathing you would be able to see the cold.

I live in Canada and it is cold enough to see my breath, even during the daytime not just the nighttime. It has been that way for a couple weeks already. The weather here in Calgary, Alberta has been pretty nice compared to other places in Canada, and we just got our first snow fall on the weekend and we have lots of it now. But before the snow came I already could see my breath. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day,

I am generally not outside when it is that cold. I haven't really checked to see if I can see my breath when it is that cold or not. We have definitely had some cold nights here though. I think it was down to either 13 or 17 degrees one night. I guess if I was outside I would have been able to see my breath.

It was way tooooo cold for me! We are having such flip flop weather here it is crazy! I hate seeing my breath!
