I know we all buy certain generic things to save money, especially right now when our economy is in the state it is. I am certainly no exception – I almost always buy the generic canned veggies, generic paper towels, even generic cookies. However, there are some things in this world on which I refuse to skimp! I just have to have *my* name brand or nothing at all.
Here are mine:
Mayonnaise: Best Foods
Diapers: Huggies
Shampoo: Pantene
So my question to you is….do you have any brand name loyalties and if so, what are the products and their brands?

i have to agree with these hard money times ,I buy mostly generics.Except for certain things,, sucn as mayonnaise must be Miracle whip, bread must be natures own whole wheat,,bathroom tissue must be cottonelle,, shampooo, must be Tresemme ( the shampoo I get at BJs by the gallon so it last for quite awhile)same with conditioner.

For me, it depends on what it is. I usually only by brand name items. The only exception is with pasta. I will buy the store brand on that and sometimes on shampoo (Wal-Mart’s Equate isn’t too bad). What I do to save money though is to use coupons or stock up on the brand name when it is online.
My biggest must have is mayonnaise. I have to have the Hellmann’s brand.

I actually believe that there are only a few things that I would not buy generic for but as I was thinking of how to comment here I keep remembering more and more that I am more specific about. The first one that came to mind is coffee. I use the Nescafe classic exclusively. Soft drinks would be mostly Dr Pepper or Sprite. Cream of mushroom and cream of potato soup have to be campbells but all the other flavors can be house brands. Oh yeah and bleach if its for the laundry has to be Clorox but if I'm using it for anything else it can be a bargain brand.

I use a lot of generic stuff but I have to have my bumble and bumble shampoos and my hotdogs have to be ball park or I will not eat them. The most important name brand I buy though is toilet paper!! There is no way I will buy generic it has to be the good stuff!!
