Yesterday,I dorped my cell phone in water by accident,I just put it on the egde of the basin when I was washing my hands, and then it slided into the water...I got the battery out at once ,and put my cell phone on the caliducts. About an hours later,i put the battery back into the phone and reset the phone, fortunately It worked, but, unfortunately,it worked so bad,I pressed the keys, but it worked in wrong way, later it turnned itself off,and i couldn't reset anymore...Today I asked someone to fix it. Do you get such situation before? I just feel so bad without my cell phone~~

Hi, Johnnycash. I didn't have this experience before. I often use my mobile very carefully. The most worse situation for my mobile is to be dropped onto the floor. But fortunately, it's always OK every time. But I have seen a paragraph before which is sent by email from my friend, that's if your mobile dropped into water, you should firstly put it into rices and keep it in it for some time, then rices can absorb the water and moisture completely from the mobile. I can't find the email now, but I remember it very clearly. However, I didn't make a try to verify whether this is true or not. I can't put my mobile into water purposively, right? Maybe next time if this case happens, you can make a try.

ok i dont know if its too late to try but the best way is to put your cellphone in a bag/jar of rice .. it will help dry out the insides and the cell phone will work as before .. like i said not too sure if its too late because you dried it on a heater .. but give it a try as it sill take out all the moisture.

I have heard this works too, the rice thing; if it's not fried from being turned on too soon.

This has happened to me on more than one occassion actually. Sometimes the phone will dry out after a couple of days and work, others times its shot. Also the warranty or insurance wont cover it when you take it in and they can tell that it has moisture in it. You can use a hair dryer to try and speed up the process. Worse case scenario be prepared to buy a new phone.

The worst would be that it doesn't dry out and start back to working.

yes, i got into this situation many times so it is no strange to me. i am a careless user and i had damaged a few phones this way. Most of the time the phone would not work or the keypad would not work. The worst i had done was to put the phone into my glass of whisky when i went drinking with my friends. i have the habit of placing my phone in empty glasses so i can see who is calling or when someone called as the environment is dim and noisy. However, after while, when i got a bit drunk and also not paying attention, i would just place the phone into a glass full of whisky and thinking that it is an empty glass that i had put in earlier. then i realised it only the next time i tried to check my phone. I killed and murdered 2 phones this way. haha.

It is sad to heard about this and may your cellphone will be ok at last. Luckily, I didn't have that kind of situation before, but instead, I have my cellphone droped to the floor, and not once. I remember it droped to the floor from my bed one time. However it still works well, so I got to say Nokia is a really really nice brand, isn't it ? Good luck to you and your cellphone.

Dropped mine in the toilet!! I was using the facilities and had my phone in my pants pocket. When I went to pull up my trousers, the phone jumped out of my pocket and into the bowl, yuck! Needless to say, I had the same problems as you when the phone started going crazy. I had to let it dry out. this actually works, most of the time. I used a hair dryer and let the phone sit open for a few hours. It eventually came back to normal. Dodged a bullet on that one but I think it was because I did not hesitate to grab it out of the bowl! Yuck!

I think for that case, there is less possibility of recovering the cellphone,as far as i know, LCD of cellphones are the ones affected by water, and it cost mush, and sometimes it cannot be repaired, so lucky you are if they can still repair it. so goodluck. just always be careful not to happen such cases again!

I dropped my cell phone in a river once...it fell right out of my pocket while I was getting out at the boat ramp. I grabbed it out of the water as fast as I could but there was no saving it. Fortunately, we had an older phone from an earlier upgrade so I had one to use while I waited for a replacement but I lost all of my phone and 2-way numbers. Since then I've kept them on my computer, too.

Yeah, there was one time I dropped my cellphone into the washing machine! I got it out instantly and wiped it dry as best I could. I kept it turned off for a while in front of a running electric fan. I was lucky it still worked, nothing wrong with the keypad, but there was a big smudge in the lcd that didn't disappear anymore. Sorry about your cellphone.

Ok I worked at radio shack and my manager helped someone out who did the same thing. You need to take the phone completely apart for at least 24 hours to let it dry out. If you can put a fan or something to where it will blow on it to help it dry out better do it. After 24 hours, put it back together and plug it into your wall charger. Let it charge completely... keep it turned off. After it is completely charged and dried out... turn it back on and reset it. chances are that it will work. If it don't, you will probably have to send it back to the company to be repaired. Did you have insurance on it? If so... this may be a free fix.... If not... it can be costly....Try this first though since it is free.

It's 2300RMB (about 300Dollars more) when I bought this N72.In my country,China,we barely to make insurance on a cell phone,we just haven't such habit~My firend told me that I would cost about 200RMB more(about 30DOLLARS) to fix it.So it's not so bad,at least ,I don't have to buy a new one~

Once i dropped mu Nokia 2600 in muddy water, and unable to search and find for about 2 minutes. After finding, I just removed the battery without operating any key, even i did not try to switch off, then i dried it in fan for 10 minutes after dismantling. Then i dried it with a hair drier by keeping some distance. And finally i assembled, and tested.I starts working as usual and still working.

My son dropped his brand new razor in a mud puddle, 15 minutes later my other son was walking home and saw it glowing in the puddle, we took out the battery and sim and hung it in front of the heater with dental floss over night and it was just fine. Key is to take out the battery and let it dry completely. maybe we were just lucky. Same exact thing happened to my friend, took out the battery and let it dry, it was a razr also though, maybe it's just certain phones.

Hello! This has never happened to me. I never lost my cellphone nor dropped it in the water. I cannot remember me dropping it in the floor either. But I wouldn't care too much if it feel on the water. I am not a big fan of mobile phones, so it wouldn't make a big difference for me. Except the fact that I would have to call my family from a public phone if I was walking in the streets and needed to let them know about something important. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I haven't personally. But I know my sister has. Actually, she had left her cellphone in one of her pair of pants, put the pants in the dirty laundry basket, and my mom (I believe) put the pants in the machine, with other dirty clothes, not knowing that there was my sister's cellphone in one of her pair of pants. You can guess what happened to the cellphone.

You should always take a good care about mobile. Perhaps it's good idea to have a backup mobile may be something simple and cheap to tackle such situations.
