Do you know why they call it love is blind?

Hi there! Well, I received a text messages from a friend of mine and I believe what it says. It said, Love is not blind. It sees but it doesn't mind."

To me while love sees, it looks far beyond a person faults and see the good inside of them. That's why it appears to be blind to what others are seeing. Maybe that is why people who feel loved, care and genuine affection tend to change from negative to positive once they know the feelings are really sincere.

In my lifetime i have heard people say this. But i believe the reason the say it is when you met some one that doesnt deserve the love you give them. The one that is blinded by love can not see the bad way the other is treating them. Or the bad way the other personality is.

Love is blind for you dont have to see it by your eyes but you should use your heart to feel it. You dont have any reason for you follow what your hearts dictates. You do things that you dont usually do for the sake of your love to be happy even at your cost. You cannot rationalize things for you emotion over power your mind. That is why love is blind.

Love is Blind, coz, Love has no partiality, Love has no Selfishness, Love has no Proud and Pride, So, only everyone say, love is blind.

I always thought it was because no matter what your loved one looks like to other people, they will always be beautiful in your eyes. I most often hear it said when a beautiful person is partnered with an ugly one - people say, "Well, they say love is blind. And there goes your proof."

I think there could be many different interpretations why "love is blind". When you are in love, the outward appearance of that person does not matter. Or any changes they experience. If you love them for them, you only see them as they are inside, not in the superficial sense. Nothing that person, or anyone can do or say to change how you feel. Blinded by your affection, things that might of seemed like a problem, irritation or even taboo before suddenly is not as such, if that person is involved. Nothing outside of your love matter, blind to everything else outside of your love.

Love is blind because when you love someone, you accept all the good and bad thing about her/him. Is not only about how handsome or beautiful they are it is about LOVE.

Love knows no bounds.

Well, You know what, love knows no bound. Once u are inlove with someone, it doesnt matter if the person is the ugliest person in the world, cos all u see in him or her is love. But if something goes wrong latter on, maybe he or she cheats on you, or leaves you for some one else, or does anything that made you fall out of love with him or her, then u'd go like........." i wonder what made me date a monkey like that" You are so mad @ him or her, that he/her now irritates you. That's my understanding.

I think you said it very well...."you lose sight of where you should be going. So when it leaves you are lost." But blind love is not always the greatest because you may lose out on a lot of opportunities in life while you are blind and then when it is over you wish you would have seen and done the other things in life. That is whats most frustrating after that love is gone. But most people are more cautious after the first blind love.

Well I think your reason is very much correct. Love can distract you from all of your plans and activities that you were previously doing. Your mind can only focus on that one person.

I believe that they say, "Love is blind," because when you are in love, you seem to not notice the faults and imperfections in the other person. Everyone else is telling you about this person and you are just going on like they are the best thing that ever happened in your life. You don't care what anyone says. It's like the song that Michael Bolten and I believe Percy Sledge sings. "When A Man Loves A Woman."

to me, love is blind because it really makes one blind. when one falls in love, one is blind to everything. the same action done by the same person will invoke different reaction. if i love a person, i'll find his burping after every meal really cute. but if i stop loving him, i'll find it totally disgusting. same goes for every nasty habit like channel surfing and tardiness. when in love, one is blind to all these little things. however, one will see them clearly when fallen out of love. cheers

I'd personally say love is blind in two manners. The first being bad: You could be mistreated and abused (for example verbally abused-) by a partner, and yet deep down you'd KNOW it was wrong if you didn't love them, but you can't see it- because you DO love them therefore you can blame yourself until you finally realise and end it, or the person changes. The second being good: It could mean that the physical attraction is not important- because to you, they're the sexiest person in the world. - Or as others said, it's the loss of reality and possible plans you had, as well as people you wouldn't generally go for... (For example if a women usually goes for bad boys, but for some reason or another she ended up marrying a goody-two-shoes). Make sense :p?

Love becomes blind when you learn to accept his/her flaws in all aspects, love becomes blind when everybody see's his flaws but still you dont see it, Love is powerfull and it makes people crazy about it. alot of people becomes blind when love speaks but also there are people who are brainy enough to overcome the power of love and see the reality.

Love is blind!, maybe because when you're inlove your concentration is in your feelings, you loss to your feelings and you are happy, your happiness will feel you that you are okay and didn't think anything wrong because you are happy.. and don't care what other's say. Latter you will realized that there is something wrong, you didn't use your head to think if it is right.. The feeling of happiness will make you inspired of what you are doing is right. Maybe the one who love is blind not the love itself..

I think they should rephrase it to "love is blinding". I believe love is not blind, love knows what it can do, its when your struck and you loose your sanity or for some it's the other way around. They get blind and let their emotions carry them away to fantasies and heart aches until reality hits them that love is not all pretty things. how about "love is like a shield"? it knows no boundaries? haha. heck I don't know anymore. Experience it folks and define love yourself. You'll get crazy because you'll want to define it in many ways and it would still never be enough.
