I was in the holiday spirit this weekend big time. Got a lot more shopping done. I still have 2 gifts to get the daughter, one for my son, and some for my wife. I wrapped all night Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I also went and got all the candy for the grandkids stockings as well and those are filled to the brim as well. Almost done now for the holiday season. How close to done and ready are you for the Holiday?

So why are you leaving AZ then?
My lights outdoors have been up for over a month.
Tree up for just a week is all. FAKE too.

Wow, you are just jolly ol' St. Nick, Grandpa Bob. I wish I were in the Christmas spirit like you. I haven't done much so far. We have the two grandbabies done though and my Mother in-law. We aren't able to do much this year, because of hubby's cancer and lack of mooolaa. But we are going to have a nice dinner. I'll be decorating the house tomorrow. Great job in finishing it all.

I've been in the spirit for a long time actually.
Had my lights up outside for over a month now.
They have been turned on almost nightly since as well.
Bummer about the cash and cancer.
Hope things get better soon for you all.
Thanks also.

Good for you Grandpa Bob!! You should see some of the gifts I got from my brother when we still lived at home hahaha! It looked like the dog had tried to open it, or wrestled with it one of the 2. Then one year he got smart and paid me 20 bucks to wrap all of his gifts for him hehe! Then everyone wondered what the heck happened to his crappy wrapping styles!!

I have done absolutely no decorating in my house. And I have yet to buy the first gift. We did decorate the church today and it's beautiful. Wish I had my house decorated. Been trying to get my husband to get my stuff from the attic but he hasn't gotten it down yet. I meant to do it the day after Thanksgiving but he had other ideas. So here I am, getting closer to Christmas and nothing is done.

We had to baby sit the grandkids yesterday and so took the opportunity to take them to a tree farm and cut down a Christmas tree, something they had never done. The tree is up, but that is it. Hubby is untangling the lights. I am going to finish a free lance article, then lay off of them for Christmas.I will get the decorations up, soon.

YIKES!
If I don't have my outdoor lights up before it gets too cold,
they won't be up at all.
I wpon't do it when it's cold out as it's a hassle actually.
My tree was just put up last weekend which is late as well.
Not too late but still late.
So are you going to be busy this weekend decorating etc then?

I want to decorate tomorrow. But, apparently my husband is getting my decorations out of the attic! He's on his computer. And, I am afraid to get up in the attic because of my hip. I got to next to the top step today - wanted to get some of my decorations for the church, but was afraid to climb on into the attic and then try to get down without anyone being in the house. Sure didn't want to fall. So, who knows when my tree and things will get put out! It is supposed to rain the next few days, so maybe he will get them down then. He didn't get home until 6 tonight and he was very tired and went to sleep after eating.

For the most part the Visions of Sugarplums are still dancing in my head. Hubby and I took advantage of a Saturday morning together to go out of town to a special store that features Kansas made items. We bought for his three sisters. That is always the stumper for me, so I am glad it is over. I loved the store we shopped in. I have most everything figured out, and I now have the cash to do something about it.

They dance in my heart all season.
You know I have not bought anything for my siblings in like 10 years.
Just the way out family is lately.
Kids and grandkids are the ones with the gifts.
That's how it should be anyhow I feel.

I don't have too much more to do, just a few gifts to get and mail out. I'll have that done this week. I don't think I'll decorate the outside of the house this year, it's cold and I'm tired. I'll definitely put up my tree and I might put some lights in the upstairs windows but I just can't go all out like I did last year. Working every day kind of wears me out!

Well you've been busy haven't you? I wished I had someone who would do all this for me so I wouldn't have to worry about it, someone who would do all my decorating and shopping and wrapping presents. I just can't get myself in the mood to do it, I've been shopping and I'm almost done, but I still need to put my tree up and I just can't get motivated to do it. What does your wife have left to do, if you do it all? Your a good man Grandpa Bob...

I'm still working on wrapping, but my shopping is done. I don't really want it to be done, there's plenty more I'd love to get, bu I can't afford to buy any more, and I think what I've already purchased is plenty.
My husband still has to finish his shopping for me, and we are still working on something for his parents, but I'm making a photo montage for MIL, all I need is a frame.
Then the stocking stuffers.

I am nearly done now, I put the christmas decs up today and they look pretty nice, I have more or less finished buying. I went and bought my hubby a remote control helicopter today that he had been eyeing up the other day so I am quite excited about that and cannot wait to see his face because he does not have a clue!! I just have to wrap everything really that is always the hardest part for me that and finding where i hid everything to begin with ha ha!

It's lovely to hear you do your own personal Christmas shopping, GB, even wrapping the gifts yourself! My husband is in charge of the 'big' presents for our children - but I do all the rest, and wrap everything. He always manages a special surprise for me, though - and I've never once guessed what it will be! One year it was a huge box which felt very light - inside, it was filled with packing filler, and there were book vouchers hidden among the stuff! I think there were about 10 of them - so I had a fantastic day in the bookshop that Christmas.
