White Christmas!

Saturday was a nice snowy day here with an inch and a half fallen. Well on Sunday here in Minnesota we got a few more inches of snow. A few more inches expected by Monday evening as well. And yet another inch on Tuesday as well. So now we are definitely going to have a white Christmas in Minnesota. The snow with the lights lit on the house look so nice finally. This is a shot of my bale of hay in my garden bed right after the first 2 inches or so fell Sunday. Are you having a white Christmas at all that you know of? If it's a warm climate what is the most important factor such as a White Christmas to you? Really warm? Or what?

We have had some snow but it was not much so I was pretty pleased about that. We have had rain today which I got caught in, that makes me wonder whether I would actually prefer snow, but then no because it is really hard to walk in the snow and as I walk everywhere it takes me ages to get anywhere!

I was in Los Angeles this weekend, highs on Saturday were in the 70's and on Sunday in the high 60's. Got back to Sacramento which was experiencing 40's and froze my little toesies. No snow. You have to go a bit higher up to get snow. And fine with me, I'm a wuss when it comes to cold weather!

Hmmm... Here in Hamilton, Ontario, it was cold and blustery Saturday but we only got a dusting of snow. Same on Sunday. It was supposed to be about -10°C today (windchill making it -13°), but I don't think it got that bad. Again, it tried to snow but hasn't amounted to much, and it's supposed to rise to +3° overnight and get to 9°C tomorrow!

It has been below normal temps here.
Normal is about 30 F and it's barely made it out of the low teens for a week.
Snowing like crazy right now at 10 p.m. my time.
So nice looking but the roads are bad.

Well, I woke up today (Tuesday) to see it snowed overnight, about 2", but it's mild out and melting. They've revised the high to about 6° now, though. Still, that's relatively "warm".

Oh how nice. I have got to find my pictures of our white Christmas that we had 4 years ago, around 6 inches out here where I live. After I find the pictures I have to scan them then figure out how to get them from my desktop to laptop then on MyLot.
I don't like when it is too hot here that we have to have the air conditioner on and if the kids get toys to play with outside they have to wear shorts.
I would love another white Christmas but that is very doubtful down here but if it would just be cloudy, cold and even rainy would not be bad then I would be happy. Oh the rain can hold off until after my daughter, grandson and son in law make their trip down here on Christmas Day.

Well I hope you figure out the transeferring process. A memory stick would work and they are cheap. The plug into the USB port and then upload top the stick then transfer to another puter etc. I hate green wrm Holidays. Gimme the snow and LOTS of it please.

Yes we are having a White Christmas, well so the experts say. It has been -5 for three nights and is white over with frost.
It is milder today but a White Christmas is now certain and my Children are excited about it. I like to look at the snaw but that is all.
I am glad you are having a White Christmas Bob. I know you love the snow. I hope it does not snow too much for you though.

Is the -5C or -5F?
We have been near zero C already.
Our normal high right now is 29 and it hasn't been near 20 for a few days now. Cold but with the snow it is great feeling. To me anyhow.

That would be -5 o centigrade. Thats the way we say it here. Yes it is below freezing and I cannot stick it. My heating is on and I have never seen my windows steam up like this before ever. I bet you are used to this Bob but I tell you what. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SPRING. It is not even Winter yet until the 21st.

The only white around here is the infernal fog that's been hanging around the area for the last several days. Today though I can actually see the houses across the street for a change. The temps have been in the high 30s to low 40s most of the time. Cold enough to keep me bundled up that's for sure. Throw a few snowballs around for me ok? LOL!

So pretty looking.
But the roads are horrendous.

I pick her up at the mall a mile and a half away is all.

There have been times it was 70 degrees here on Christmas...lol. I don't believe that will be the case this year as it's already getting colder. We have been in the low 50s a few days already. I doubt we'll have a white Christmas. I wouldn't mind it as long as the roads were still passable.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Well I sure don't live in a warm climate!
But, so far no snow yet! The weather here has gotten really
cold finally! You know how cold NY weather can get! But,
all we have had was a tiny little dusting on the cars so
far! Nothing to speak of and nothing that even stayed on the
ground! And so far not even any threat of any accumulation.
But, I do think that we will be getting some snow before
Christmas! It feels like it and looks like it and it seems
to be getting alot closer! I will keep you updated of course!

I drove a cab many moons ago in NYC.
I hated the HUGENESS of that area back then.
But I love the snow and cold.
I lived on the edge of the Aridondack Mountains in PA years ago and the snow there was always a huge falling each time it snowed. I miss that type of snowstorm.

Thank you so much.
I love the snow and cold actually.
Right now it's still snowing.
Got a few inches so far and a few more to come by Tuesday early evening.
So nice looking outside with the house all lit up too.
Ouch. I have yet to slip on ice this year.
Last year I feel from my roof clearing ice dams.

The fresh snow is really nice, I wish to see the real snow too.
Well, I'm staying in a tropical country, where there is no winter, no snow. So, we don't have white Christmas here. I was studying in Australia last time, but the winter falls in July, so it's not white christmas too. ^_^

We are getting a thin veil of snow right now. So thin I don't think I'll be able to see it on the ground when I leave to go home. When it snows it is usually around the last of Decemeber or early January. Although I remember a Christmas more than ten years ago when it snowed on my birthday, which was March 1st! Snow in March...

I love a white Christmas, but we haven't had one in Tennessee for awhile, I copied the following fron the web site of the National Weather Service Forecast Office..
Most Snow in 24 Hours 18.2" November 21-22, 1952
Most Snow in One Season 56.7" 1959-60
Snowfall on Christmas:
Trace 2002
Trace 1993
0.3" 1992
Trace 1985
1.2" 1976
7.0" 1969
2.0" 1962
1.0" 1935
6.0" 1929
2.0" 1915
We don't have much snowfall here but I did remember a few of the bigger snowfalls around here, I just wasn't sure what years they were.. So 1929 and 1969 were good years for the snow, wonder if this means we have to wait another year for our next 40 year snowfall to happen.. If it happens every 40 years, we are in for a good one next Christmas..
I enjoy the milder Winters anyway.. Wishing for Florida for the next few months..

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
That picture looks so beautiful, although some part of the UK mostley up north had lots of snow this past week but I live in the south of England and have not seen a flake yet, but weh hard frost in the night, so we may still get snow some times and hoe it will on Christmas day, wouldn't that be grand?, a white Christmas, we haven't seen one for good number of years.

Well I think it is a flip of the coin here. Saturday afternoon and night brought about an inch of snow and about 1/2 inch of ice. Sunday morning there were a lot of accidents because people just couldn't wait a couple of hours for the roads to be cleared. Sunday afternoon brought higher temp with melting away what had accumulated. Last night the water from the thawing froze again causing black ice. Then it warmed up and melted that away and guess what it is now sleeting! So go figure! LOL No wait a minute it has turned to snow now! LOL

I love the snowstorms but hate freezing rain/sleet.
Drivers here get crazy even though it happens each year. You'd think they would know by now how to drive in lousy road/weather conditions. But NO! Be safe.
