Do you remember Knut, the polar bear? Now he is for sale. I wish I had the money to shelter all these animals abandoned and not wanted, but unfortunately keeping one cat right now is all I can do. I wonder if it's possible to let him go into the wild, where polar bears are, and supervise him for a certain period until he gets used to it. This would be cheaper than the money required to keep him in human's care, do you think? Plus he would live among his own. What do you think?

Too bad for the bear. I, too, wish I could shelter the unwanted animals. I'd love to have an animal sanctuary. I like to go to zoos, because I like to see animals I would never otherwise see, but it makes me sad to see the animals penned up and out of their natural environment.

yeah I know what you mean
he was born in the zoo, so letting him go to the wild could be dangerous for him
but then again what if nobody wants to take him
and where is all the money the zoo earned from those days when he was attracting huge crowds anyway? how come now they can't afford to take care of their own source of income?

That is so sad. I know what you mean, I wish I could take in every animal, but I can't. I don't think an ordinary human could care for a polar bear. There are special needs that no ordinary person could deal with. He would have to be sold to a zoo or sanctuary. I think he is probably too acclimated to human care that he could not survive in his natural environment, although that would be ideal. Thanks for sharing this.
