I just watched a thought-provoking movie - what would you do?

A few years or so ago, there was a movie out called something like "Fear.net" where this guy would post a live video of someone being killed and the more people that logged into the site, the faster the person was killed. I just watched another movie similar to this - Untracable. It was pretty much the same, and got me to thinking - would I log into a sight that was killing someone? Even if I knew it was fake, would I do it? I mean, I just watched a movie that was pretty graphic and showed a lot of what would be posted to such a site. I just don't know that I'd log onto the site if I thought someone was being killed as a result - or a staged killing. This also reminded me of the video a few years ago that was going around on the internet showing someone being beheaded. I knew someone that wanted to see it and they also knew that I knew people that would have it. I did pass the info on to the person that wanted to see it, although I refused to watch it myself. The person I passed it on to actually wished afterwards that they hadn't viewed it. I feel there's enough crap going on, I really don't want to see it for real. But, apparently I don't have a problem watching a Hollywood presentation of such a thing. What are your views on this?

The movie you were thinking of is fear.com and unfortunately we have it. One of my brothers insisted that I'd like it so I bought it. I might add that I almost always watch a movie first to see if I like it enough to buy it but this time I didn't and bought it. I think I watched all of about 15 minutes of it and that was it. I absolutely can't stand it. Hubby likes it which is the only reason we still have it. I refuse to watch it. There are just some things that are better left unfilmed. OH! So close but yet so far!! It's been a while since I've seen it... I really like the movies like this for the detective factor. I like watching the bad guy get caught and how the police officers minds work to get it all figured out. I don't really care for the "content" that much though and I would usually crochet or read a book while I'm watching something like that.

If I watched TV I'd watch all those!!! But since I don't watch TV I don't get to see them. I'd probably be totally hooked though...

I also love detective shows...or who-done-it's as I call them. I prefer CSI and Bones to most movies though. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

I do not accept this type of programming. Killing someone even faking it is so deluted. It is only a deranged person that would even think of this type of show. I would not watch anything like this. I'd be afraid of being around a person that has these kind of thoughts and projects it however in a physical way. Someone watching this and getting any type of amusment or satisfation from it, something is wrong with them in their mind. To even have these thoughts or want to see them acted out, they need help from a doctor.

Oh yeah, they'd most likely need to be under a doctor's care...

I would not log onto a site like that even if it was fake and as for that movie, that is not my type of movie either. I love a good comedy myself.

I like the detective kinda movies, which was the main premise for this movie - catching the bad guy and out-smarting him. There are a lot of gruesome movies out there that I have no desire to watch, they're just gory and no "plot" to them.

I would definatly NOT watch that. I can not even handle watching movies that are graphic, I couldn't even begin to imagine watching something like that, that was real! I am not really sure why people would, it's disturbing to think there are people who actually would watch it with no problem! But not me, no way!

Yeah, I don't understand why people would want to watch it either...
